  1. Put it together with a trip up to the Twin Cities and it will be.
  2. So you are celebrating a company disregarding safety measures put in place by the manufacturer? I'm sure Six Flags put thousands in imminent danger without first consulting as to whether or not it was OK with the maintenance staff. They ran roller coasters in low temperatures. There's no risk inherent. Right. Because manufacturers just put "don't run below ____ temp" on rides for grins and giggles.

  4. You're really missing out then. Very few parks offer two Broadway quality shows, a lighted parade, millions of lights on top of world class rides. While I'm sure SF's attempt will be cute, it won't be in the same league. Someone mentioned SFFT's HITP and how they were impressed. If you were, then you'll like SFSTL's as SFFT's is not even the best HITP in the state of Texas (that goes to SFOT).
  5. Wow your such a fanboy. *you're He does have a point though. CF:LP appears to be having more success with the VR concept
  6. You're really bemoaning the fact you didn't get a used inverted boomerang? Seriously?
  7. The difference here is that our HITP cannot just throw some lights up and call it good. That's not what they did at Great Adventure either. We go to Dollywood's event every year. The decorations at Dollywood are probably slightly better, but not by much. They're playing on the same level (except of course in the shows department), we were blown away by Great Adventure. Six Flags doesn't do the lights themselves, they contract it out to a company called Oak Island Creative. They're outstanding. Having been to both DW and SDC's events I can say without hesitation that even DW's event pales in comparison to SDC's. I'd almost say it's better than Disney's but they have the "mouse appeal" going for them.
  8. Interesting that there are no new trademarks filed by Cedar Fair. Is there a "code name account" for Kings Island?
  9. The difference here is that our HITP cannot just throw some lights up and call it good. We have the best Christmas Festival (outside of Disney) in the same state as SDC - and if you think the two won't be compared you are kidding yourself. So Six Flags is going to have to try a lot harder than what they do with Fright Fest (which pales in comparison to Haunt at WOF or even some of the local scares in the STL metro area) or else they're just wasting money that should have been spent on a bigger ride that would have been utilized the entire season
  10. What does a coaster at BGT have to do with DP or VF?
  11. Never heard of the park doing this, however you can always get water for free throughout the park, and then you don't have to worry about dragging around a container all day!! The ducks are amazing! I always enjoy doing them, and I highly suggest Showboat Branson Belle! It's so entertaining, and has nice food! Yeah, but if he is going to do Dixie Stampede, it's a little redundant. The hatchery at the dam is cool to visit. Top of the Rocks is pretty cool as well. Talking Rocks Cavern over in Branson West would be another way to get out of the heat. IMAX is another way to beat the heat.
  12. You had a great post going and then you felt the need to ruin it by adding a "we may be bad, but at least we're not as bad off as ...." I know I have been guilty of doing that in the past, but it real accomplishes nothing. You know that Dorney has received improvements as well during that time. In fact those improvements have been on par or more than what VF has received.
  13. It's horribly run. Makes me wonder if there aren't some major computer problems with it.
  14. Interesting on the definition of Midwest. You'd think that something should at least be in the middle before getting that classification but that's neither here or there. Perhaps more Mideast?
  15. The thing that Prowler had gong for it is location. AND the fact that it is relatively smooth still when compared to Renegade
  16. While true that you can always create your own fun - I've long felt that SFSTL has become rather stale and thus why I didn't even bother to renew my pass this year or even go to the park. Depending on travel plans for next year I might reconsider but SF will have to actual put in a destination coaster somewhere to make even think about it.
  17. It's a lower tier RMC - I have trouble deciding which is the lowest between Goliath, Iron Rattler and Storm Chaser. They're all fun but nowhere in the league of Outlaw Run and Lightning Rod
  18. As long as you avoid Aug 11-21 you'll be fine. Never go during the Fair. The place gets packed.
  19. It's wicked fun. The queue takes forever but I tend to think it's worth the wait
  20. Nice PTR, but I have to laugh at the fact you think Ohio is the "Midwest". Indiana can make an argument but really Midwest starts in Illinois.
  21. You missed my point. I answered the question as to how CP would market a makeover of Mean Streak
  22. Butterbeer. Dole Whips. Skillets at SDC.
  23. If the RMC rumors are true, I think Cedar Fair might have a different outlook on these conversions than Six Flags. Six Flags looks at these conversions as "brand new rides", which they essentially are. Cedar Fair might be looking at these conversions as a remodeling of an existing ride, which is true too. If they advertise it as a remodeling of Mean Streak, there is no need to for them to set any records for them to see a return on their investment. Cedar Fair and Knotts were able to sell the remodeling of Ghostrider and just glancing at the Knotts thread, it looks as if the ride is pulling an hour plus line consistently since it's re-opened (I say that with no prior knowledge to how the lines for GR were before it closed for the remodeling, so someone please let me know if the ride had similar wait times before.) Um... Rougarou. Just saying.
  24. I feel lucky that I got a couple rides in during the 4th of July weekend. They'll figure things out eventually. It really is a great ride.
  25. I'll play along. There's no reason that they couldn't be getting things ready for a 2018 coaster in that area. Spread the prep costs over two seasons to get more bang for the buck.
