  1. In the KMBC interview, they say there will be 8 live shows during Winter Fest. Since the park only has 2 indoor performance venues, it makes me wonder where the other venues will be... AND the most important question is where will the North Pole meet and greet be located?
  2. Thank you for taking the time to provide a tutorial on posting habits and etiquette for us older posters. What would we do without you know-it-all millennials? I realize your generation is big on the whole overreacting and blowing things out perspective, but honestly I think I would hold off notifying Websters that "filling up this thread" in fact means "two posts on the subject" and one clarifying what the first post meant. I do agree with you on one point, most of the country will not care that a well known B&M inverted coaster's name is being used by a converted coaster in a regional park in California. Most people are surprised to learn this park is open still let alone exists. However I think that being an older poster I might explain to you why naming this coaster Patriot was a lost opportunity. The amusement industry thrives on brand recognition. Unfortunately CGA suffers from this. They are quite literally the park in the chain that has the least unique names. You will find more reused names from the other parks in the chain at CGA than any other park owned by Cedar Fair. One would think they would want something to set them apart but they are quite literally going from one copied name to another (and this one isn't even the same type of coaster). Naming aside, this is a great move for the park. If Invertigo had not been at the park the last time I visited, Vortex would have been by far the worst steel coaster there. I think the conversion will definitely help click count for the ride.
  3. So we have a Huss Breakdance and a Tornado water slide that need homes. I wonder why the Breakdance wasn't added to Carowinds like the original article stated. Also a random Trioka appeared for Dorney Park.
  4. No. They are using the name of B&M inverted coaster at WOF. That's my beef.
  5. Only complaint is the name. Would have been nicer to have something original.
  6. I think we're going to find out any minute now! (In a different park...) Yeah I know - I'm just laughing because everyone was convinced that CP was getting it.
  7. Is Barnstormer not trademarked by Dollywood?
  8. I'm pretty sure they said next offseason is part 3 of a 4 part retrack. The helix is supposed to be done and then maybe back to the lift hill structure.
  9. Most of the names are free to be used as they are not currently trademarked
  10. Lots of good legacy names to choose from -Singapore Sling -Barnstormer -WingDing -Funicular -Schussboomer -Screamroller/Extremeroller (EXT) -Omegatron -Zambezi Zinger -Whirligig -Silly Serpent
  11. Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Tomorrow! Worldsoffun.ORG (fan site) is saying that there is a good chance one of the two rides will have a legacy name. So... Whirligig?
  12. Nah. The entire town of Branson shuts down in January and February. It used to shut down around Labor Day back in the day
  13. We don't have the indoor performance space to pull of a Winterfest at this time. While I think a "Christmas Around the World" event could be interesting - SDC has the market cornered on Christmas (Halloween is more WOF's thing)
  14. I was thinking Herschend or Merlin would be the best to run the parks as they both have experience with animal attractions. Herschend owns numerous aquariums and have experience with animal attractions. Merlin has the SeaLife branch and the SeaWorld brand could be morphed into SeaLife pretty easily. The parks could be reimagined as large aquarium exhibits instead of being so show happy.
  15. If the chain is already paying to use the IPs it's not a lack of imagination - it's just good business and much easier to market
  16. I did but we're already back in session at my school district so I'll have to wait until lunch to check out the press release. The last time they had a REAL PR manager was before that technology existed. Though we have a pretty good one now and I could see him going live on Periscope or Facebook
  17. There are many places at the they could build without needing to clear ground.
  18. That's not sad news. I'd take that over a super loop or aqua spin any day Why can't we get a relocated b&m? Why can we not get a BIG,REAL (not janky 26 year old boomerang) and not a spinny 20 second flip machine Amazing how low the expectations have dropped for SFSTL fans when they'd rather have a used B&M coaster than a new S&S coaster. I'll see if SFA is done with Iron Wolf. I'm sure they'd let you have it and then they would get your S&S
  19. WOF hasn't ever really gone for "goofy" titles like that in the past. I doubt that they would start that trend now. SFSTL has been sitting on that title of most coasters in the state for awhile now. It's time they get knocked off that perch. 'Course they (SFSTL) could go with "the park with the most SBNO rides in the state!"
  20. That's not sad news. I'd take that over a super loop or aqua spin any day
  21. I'm trying to figure out logic here - you really can't compare the two parks. Raptor > Batman Rougarou > Scream Magnum < Goliath Iron Dragon < Ninja Top Thrill Dragster > Superman Cedar Creek Mine Ride = Goldrusher Maverick > YOLO Coaster Those are really the only coasters that are comparable. Cedar Point coasters without comparable coasters Blue Streak GateKeeper Wicked Twister Millennium Force Gemini Corkscrew Mean Streak SFMM coasters without comparable coasters X2 Viper Revolution Tatsu Appocalypse Riddler' Revenge Green Lantern Twisted Colossus
