  1. I love SDC's skyline. Trees with rollercoaster hills is a great combo
  2. But the top 3 leaders were KI, KD and Carowinds
  3. I think the possibilities are endless with regards to what type of slide it could be.
  4. If it IS a waterslide over at OOF as well, then I would imagine DiamondHead is being removed.
  5. I think #2 would fit in the best, but it's too much like ThuNderaTion's theme. #1 has potential. I do not like the Rodeo theme at all - but it felt like they were really pushing that one
  6. So it looks like it's going to be a spinny coaster for 2018 Here are the 3 theme concepts they are pitching
  7. The blur is really throwing me off. The saying too for that matter. 1. Troika 2. Condor 3. New Front Gate 4. ??? Who the heck knows
  8. Looking forward to the announcement. Any guesses on where the rides will go in the park?
  9. Yes, you are correct. So if Cedar Fair did indeed get the trademark for Startosoar, it only makes sense that they would name their first star flyer using that name. Did you know that the starflyer can be programmed to spin backwards as well as forwards. Apparently when spinning backwards it tilts your chair forward causing you to face the ground. It also can be programmed to ascend and descend multiple time per ride. That is how many European parks have them programmed. Hopefully Valleyfair will follow that example and have them do more that just spin forward and go up once per ride. I, for one am really looking forward to a star flyer. I watched several POV's and the chairs really sway and tilt especially if its windy. Windseekers are too rigid and do not do that. I'v ridden the windseeker at Carowinds and found it amusing and relaxing but definitely not thrilling. A couple of seasons ago SFStL ran theirs backwards for Fright Fest, and it is currently programmed to ascend and descend the tower twice. (Well, it descends halfway once and then completely at the end of the ride cycle). The Mondial Windseekes also have the option to spin backwards as well. At least I've seen it on the control panel for the Worlds of Fun relocated one from Knott's. That would be a fun ride. I would definitely give that a go.
  10. I could see maybe categorizing VF and DP as small "land size" parks but not KD and WOF
  11. Talk about blowing things out of proportion. 1. SteelHawk does not get "stuck" every day. 2. SteelHawk did not get "stuck" on Sunday. 3. You say you've never been to Schlitterbahn - how can you comment on its "luster"? 4. Perhaps you shouldn't comment on things you really don't know about? Schlitterbahn is a tubing park. Yes it doesn't have anything really from the WhiteWaterWest catalogue that most waterparks have but that's because this is not most waterparks. You can literally stay in your tube the entire day and experience most of the park. That's a bonus not having to be out of the water waiting in lines. It really is one of the most relaxing parks out there. Very laid back. Schlitterbahn will recover from this. They're probably going to need a flashy new toy to bring people back in by the droves but it'll recover.
  12. ^I like it. Maybe have some sledding hills inside there as well.
  13. So I'm wondering if a certain ride will be added to numerous parks in the chain since so many parks are having their press events on the same day. August 18 Worlds of Fun Dorney Park Carowinds Valleyfair August 20 Kings Dominion
  14. I'd like them to split 4th of July in half and add another Holiday. It's the largest land area anyway. Maybe Christmas could annex some of that land too?
  15. Is this park still open? I heard since all the rides are broken they just shut down the park for good.
  16. The conference is the 18th, not the 8th. Look up. He admitted his mistake - first post this page.
  17. Watching the pov videos of this ride, those nets seem awfully low. Has anyone here actually been on this ride? Maybe if they were up higher this would have been avoided? All of their blaster slides have these nets. Having ridden Verruckt myself I'm trying to figure out how exactly he flew out. Yes there is some ejector air on that 2nd hill but unless he was grossly underweight for the ride he should have never flown that far up even if the seatbelt malfunctioned.
  18. Very true and observant of you. However it still doesn't change the narrative. When OE derailed it left the park without a looping coaster. It was then that the decision was made to go with a Boomerang instead of a mouse coaster. I'm sorry if my wording made it sound like Boomerang was added after OE was removed, that was not my intent.
  19. Boomerang was a necessary evil. When the Orient Express derailed and then had to finally be removed (due to extreme stress fractures) it left the park without a looping coaster. So what was supposed to be a "mad mouse style" coaster was changed to a Boomerang to fill that void.
  20. I absolutely loved Zambezi Zinger. It was my first "big coaster". I have to fill that void by riding Whizzer at SFGAm as often as I can now. Ready for the announcement next week. Strangely there is no new activity on KIVA yet. You'd think they would be filing construction paperwork by now.
  21. Well they finally have a PR person. He's doing a great job and has really embraced the different forms of social media fads. The additions you mentioned were when Rachael was "PR" - talk about a moron. If it wasn't for Hollye I'm not sure a release would've even been put out to the press.
  22. ^that would make sense. A lot of the big parks (CP, KI, WOF, CW, etc) did that this year called "Sweet Spot"
