Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

He said it wasn't. -
Halloween in general is pretty much skipped in the Branson market. I honestly cannot think of any haunted attractions in the immediate area. There might be some south of the border or up in Springfield, but not around Branson and honestly they don't need it. They celebrate the Harvest Festival which is a better fit for the park. Not to mention that the Christmas Festival usually starts before Halloween Haunt at WOF even ends. In fact I think the "white glove event" at SDC (the premiere sneak peek) actually took place on Halloween either last year or the year before. I think it's cute that SFSTL and WOF think they are capable of doing justice to a Christmas event. We all know that SF can barely do a Halloween event (and I hear it is one of the better ones in the chain - so that's sad) so I question their money grab at doing Christmas now.

No, it won't be the concept art as he said "one more exciting announcement" I swear I read somewhere that WOF was one of the parks that was adding FunPix. The Season-Long Fast Lane is coming to most parks next year. It could be that Pre-K pass that KD added. -
It's on the Six Flags St Louis facebook page, and the Flash Sale for current passholders is 2017 Gold Pass for $49.99 each. That's the good part. The bad part is that the Season Dining Passes come up for $200.00! There is no way I'm paying $200 for a Season Dining Pass! THe thing is, that pass doesn't come up as part of the Flash Sale. There's a link to buy it on the Flash Sale page, but it just takes you to the regular Season Dining Pass page, which has no mention of a discount. So, I'm hoping that when September 1st rolls around, there will be a sale on the Season Dining Passes as well. If there's not, well, we'll be spending about one tenth as much time at Six Flags as we have the past few years, since the Dining Pass is a big reason we visit, and we'll be eating outside the park because I will not be paying $10 for a hot dog. Does anyone have any knowledge of whether the price will come down September 1st? Please Note: Season Dining Passes and Memberships will also be available at very special prices (with very special offers) during the Flash Sale beginning September 1. If you're looking for either of these items, please check back on Thursday! Are there chain-wide dinning passes or is it only park specific?

Cedar Fair never confirmed a dark ride. They confirmed a new digital experience, likely VR at Cedar Point. If they had something big to announce, they would have done it the 18th, when Season Passes went on sale. My thoughts too. That's why it won't be a coaster or an expensive dark ride. I think a used slide might be pushing it as well but other than just a wifi/fun pix addition I don't know what else it could be -

I honestly expected to see KBF's Tornado end up somewhere next year. When CW didn't announce it then that pretty much put us back into play for it. -

The new front gate is going to be different the other two gates in the chain. Still think it's a slide... but also will take that Break Dance that needs a home. -

Thats kinda what i think as well. i see it as a possibility. I hope it would be one of the Tornado slides With there being two available now, I'd say the chances are pretty high. IF it does end up being a Tornado slide, this will be a GREAT YEAR for additions at WOF (and it's pretty awesome already) -

I'm guessing it's one of the used waterslides that the chain has in storage now (either from KBF or from WWK) -
What happened was for some kind of reason they closed the Tanganyida Tidal Wave down (since April 2016 - according to Wikipedia), and it shall remain so until they either restore it, replace it, or just tear it down. I'm hoping for another "Journey to Atlantis" in which they can re-use the still standing lift and drop as the first lift and drop and build a building to house the second lift and even wilder drop. An Escape from Pompeii would make more sense

Does anyone know what's going on with Volcano? It was closed the days I went last week as well. I have absolutely no idea. I would guess the answer is intamin though. Fun fact: Even without Volcano and Hurler, KD is still a much more well rounded park than Carowinds. Sorry if I just caused an argument... No argument needed. It's common knowledge that Carowinds has the better lineup and is pretty much superior in every way. You're free to disagree with that though. We can't force you to be correct.

While I'm interested in the information you have to share, I applaud the fact that people have finally opened their eyes to this park. The complaints are all about real issues with the park. The thing is, these problems have been around for quite awhile. I'm not sure why we are having a "Great Awakening" all of the sudden but I'm glad posters are no longer being sunshine pumpers about the park.

Call the park and inform them of this incredible idea. Tell them that you're 13, you have tons of experience with theme park economics and development in Rollercoaster Tycoon (specify that you've played versions 1,2 AND 3 so they know you're serious and not some random guy of the street who's talking out of his a**) and that you're worried about their "un-smartness". I'm sure they'll get back in touch with you immediately to schedule a conference call so they can learn how to save themselves from financial ruin. If I were you I'd call them now and then immediately start working on a PowerPoint. Be sure to include a lot of graphs and charts in the presentation, take screenshots of the graphs in Rollercoaster Tycoon if necessary. Lighten up, Francis -

Just looked at their portfolio, it looks like they also designed Thunderbird's station. So, I'm guessing this won't be like the rest of the new CF entrances. Yeah that's what I thought too after looking through the portfolio. However, let's admit that pretty much anything will be better than what we have now. -

That's interesting. If that's the case, then they aren't from the Netherlands because the other troika is still listed on its park website and the vehicles are very themed, which wouldn't really fit in at wof. Also, the condor at Slagharen is, I believe, the only condor in the Netherlands. They bought them from a ride broker. -

Robert Bleck Architects tweeted that they will be the ones designing the new front gate and accompanying plaza. They company has designed numerous things for Six Flags Great America including stations for coasters and facades. -

i highly doubt that the rides we are adding are currently operating in a park. Considers ring they were bought last year I almost guarantee that they are not the ones at Slagharen.
