  1. Funny, I could have sworn they were on when we visited Thursday - not on my train, of course, but as we were exiting. Side note: That first helix is really strong for a family coaster. It caught me completely off guard.
  2. Honestly, after riding Griffin a lot last week, I really appreciated not being held from the MCBR. Though the train already came to a complete stop, I still got some good airtime in the back, but only because the train released and regained speed before hitting the edge. It also made the ride feel less monotonous and more "rushed" (read: exciting). Besides, does the second drop's height really effect anyone after leaving the first 200ft+ holding brake?
  3. 2. Yes, I agree. 3. That makes me wonder why they didn't just go for the dueling aspect. Wasn't the Texas Giant conversion 10 million? And that was a large prototype... So for a little more total cost they may have been able to use both sides? I really like how everything at this park is small and has good quality. All you need for some good +forces is a quick speed through the element, and that is exactly the thinking of their rides.
  4. https://instagram.com/p/5PuHWsBSUa/ Interesting idea. If b&M fixes the constraining issue, then I believe these would give a looser upper body sensation. They would need to reduce the width some in order to fit 10 across.
  5. I thoughT there was a thread like this somewhere... About to go to work now so I can't look for it. Anyway, I just need an El Toro or T-Express
  6. I'd definetly like RMC to use topper track and thus the Voyage could still hold its wooden titles.
  7. Somebody earlier said RMC half-assed this ride... I think not. They may have not been able to afford or use both sides, so they took the option of only using Lola. As much as I would love to see them duel - it's life. As much as I miss the rumored dueling aspect, those hills should give some good ejector time. This layout sort of reminds me of El Toro - lots of camelbacks and some twisty bits here and there.
  8. ^Forgot about that one. However, that posted is now far outdated... We settled that mess.
  9. You want to work for a coaster firm or one of their outsources, and it has been your lifelong dream since you were four of five...
  10. ^That could just be why. Maybe they want to ship it in and move it out of the parking lot before Haunt so theyre not wasting space? Anybody know what time of day ride shipments usually arrive? Not only is the track massive but also the supports. I know they probably have room, but this is my only guess. They haven't poured footers and those would have to sit anyway.
  11. So Drop Tower at KI rotates once going up? I traveled to KD last Thursday expecting their Drop Tower to do the same and it didn't.
  12. Air Grover @ BGW #150. LOL CREDIT WHORE WIN.
  13. Your trip report sounds a lot like my day there Thursday! One train on i305 and all woodies, and slow operations on most rides. I have always wanted to go just for the sake of going, surprisingly not tempted by i305 almost at all. Bonus for the workout and hearty breakfast - thats my style too (though resort gym only went to 50lb dumbells, FML ).
  14. Awesome cars, ridiculous capacity. I hope its not crowded
  15. I'm not a fan of that lift either but it's not like RMC only does that. Outlaw run looks perfectly "woodyish" except for one or two bits of steel in the inversions. I have no problem woth topper track. But when you pair it with that lift, I slightly forget to think of it as a woodie. And plus the old lift looked massive.. Would have been pretty cool. But I dont think it would even be cost efficient to replace Mean Streak's lift like this lol.
  16. "This ride is twisty!" v.2 Does anybody like how the ride looks covered in the protection?
  17. IMO that kills the wooden coaster feeling entirely. I have a large distaste for Goliath's lift hill. Paired with topper track, I sometimes forget that it is a wooden coaster.
  18. I had this suspicion! I knew it! I imaginne they are going to reuse the footprint, maybe for some bunny hills.
  19. I know some places who can help get rid of Goliath for you. They'll say thank you.
  20. Please just enjoy whatever you get. Small parks would die for either company. In fact, they usually dream of having a B&M more because it is more feasible than an Intamin in almost all cases. Yet, you guys are sad that it could be a B&M? Other than Shockwave leaving, we have no announcements yet. And only Shockwave is leaving - you're not replacing a favorite attraction (though I found Shockwave to be better than the B&M counterpart.
  21. Its not a big deal on case-to-case basis. Giovanolia went bankrupt and I believe this new chain is from somewhere international. I can also only imagine how long it takes to create this massive chain too. RMC is prospering nearby. Plus this coaster is brand new and the chain hasn't seem any long term stress yet / wont for a long time.
  22. Woodstock Express at KD, I think #154
  23. 1. Great Bear 2. Montu 3. Raptor 4. BTR clones 5. Alpengiest I wish Alpengiest was smoother. It has such a nice layout and setting and is pretty aggressive. NR: Patriot - its been too long since I last rode it.
  24. Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster seems pretty popular and well built.
  25. we knocked put absolutely everything yesterday with our regular Flash Passes. And all the wooden coasters were running one train, i305 was running one train, and ops were below par. At $40 a person when you buy dour (like us), it wasn't too bad. So ^^^ go for it. My experience with Sundays is that they are equally or even more crowded than Saturdays. Everyone thinks they are going to outsmart the weekend crowds going then.
