Ride Bucket List
RollerManic replied to Evanaj15's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Techincally, these are completed, but can I say here that I waited almost ten years to go to SFGADv and finally did, in October last year. Kingda Ka and El Toro were on the bucket list, along with Nitro and the Chiller (which was doomed two years into the wait). Honestly, this trip is my most prized memory. -
I thought the same thing! SFDK got a looper for 2015, and 2016 they are getting a RMC conversion. Could 2017 be our year? My pipe dream is to lower the MCBR on thr Boss (thus making a long straigh section) and have a launch there. Lenght complaints, be gone! Though, apparently someone just said that RMC comfired that SF's discount is now over. That's why LR and SC cost so much (but the Joker is included as the last discount).

Rare Pinfari Coaster (RC-48)
RollerManic replied to Jaykethekid's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Surprisingly, it looks like one pf the noce Pinfari's, almost even looks like a pernament intalation you'd see a amuseent parks. -
Screamin' Eagles's charm and hustory is what objects me against an RMC conversion. It is also one of the best running classics in the chain. Like many have said, it would be nice to repace the track with topper track so it can stay around for much longer. Personally, I'd like that as the red color would be bolder.

Most Anticipated Coasters For 2016
RollerManic replied to I305forever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Storm Chaser. Lightning Rod looks insane but, meh, the Hot Rod theme so far has been forgetable. I think that its siniliarities to Outlaw Run make it seem more "western" themed. -
I think RPM was a better name, but oh well, its not our park so I dont care. Do you think SF will install anymore S&S flats, particularly Screaming Swings? Props to SFI for adding Larson Flying Scooters, by the way! HWFan, does Reid-Anderson believe in giving the smaller parks a really nice roller coaster once in a millennium (and I'm not speaking of a conversion )?

Weird Coaster Facts
RollerManic replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I've heard that one before too. I'm pretty sure it is true. -
this article? "The Discovery Kingdom conversion will likely change Roar's jerky ride into a deliriously smooth coaster experience. The Joker should also offer other IBox signatures, such as loads of out-of-your-seat airtime. But it will also include unique features based on its Batman branding. For example, riders will brave "Harley Quinn's Tunnel of Fear," an underground section that will be filled with fog, lighting, and sound effects. Enhancements like that begin with Six Flags' design team. "We start the crazy ideas and bounce them off each other," says Hudson." It sound like they be fully enclosing it, which will be cool!

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Will the Antique car be removed or can they build Valravn over them? -
Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
RollerManic replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think WoF, MiA, and Dorney want their "peasant" rides back. They would fit perfectly with the rest of the poor, insulting investments they've seen. Whats going to happen to Shockwave? I thought it felt better than any B&M counterpart I've been on (Riddler, Mantis, Scorcher, and Green Lantern). Will it be relocated ala Sky Rider? -
Impact of a bad visit
RollerManic replied to JFrombaugh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think I should go recording name tags of the good and bad employees at SFOT so Guest Relations will have a more narrow compliant. I've never been there, but I've seen so much Flash Pass abuse at Six Flags parks. If you ride Zumanjaro, then DO NOT wait in the single rider line. My dad and I went back around to hop into that line as it was half the length. Biggest mistake ever. The regular line cruised by, but it was Flash Pass abuse that really pissed us off. The attendant (who was standing in front of our line), let the Flash Pass constantly in, immediately as someone showed up and the ride had cycled. Then, he'd hop over to the regular line for a couple of minutes, and use the Flash Pass people as SINGLE RIDERS. That was our job! Getting to the front of the line took about 45 minutes, and then it was another hour to get the rest of the 10 ft before the gate! Urghh. -
Since when was SFOT the flagship park? I've always assumed it was SFMM. TBH the Frisbee addition is amazing and I hope they add it to other parks as well. The other two flats are great as well. I think a lot of people consider SFOT the flagship park, because it's the original Six Flags Park. SFMM and SFGADv IMO are and always will be the flagship parks. Back in the day, the three original parks were built to be the best, but at the same time there were only those three in the world. It's also a far different management and owner now. SFStL, the last of the trio to be built, was designed to become the flagship park - and that didn't happen. SFOG today is a gem, but its not crazy popular like SFMM / SFOG. Just look at the rides and demographics of those two parks, and you'll understand why SFOG and the rest (inc. current) are not the flagship parks today.

Its ridicolous how they can't have a traditional wooden coaster in an historic tourist area. I get the noise complaints (actually, I think that theyre just stupid, but I'll give Kingsmilk a break for trying to preserve a peaceful enviroment), but it would be nothing short of celebrating the history of roller coasters to build a traditional woodie. After all, they didn't have all the steel back in Colonial Times, but they surely had lumber. If BGW can afford to sand fill (or so I would assume they did) three B&M then they can afford an RMC.

They ought to do something with Eagle, as we have the smallest investment this year. Maybe their relapsing still from JLBFM or they have something nice to buy in 2017. I was told that a coaster will be here by 2017/2018, depending on how you want to interpret it (and obviously, they are NOT making Fireball that "coaster"). I was told in September 2014 that it would be around three more years.
-
I do remember him saying that several pages back. I believe the words were "I can guarantee you'll be able to ride it next year." But some articles have stated Fireball is going where it currently is. Perhaps they're moving it? Yeah, that confused me. The article did not inclde a closing date either. If they did move it then it could use some paint. I wonder if we will see any name changes ala SFGADv from any of these superloops

I'm one of those idiots......nice addition to my local park, but it isn't my style/disappointed that this is coming as the "big addition" to SFGA....so there! And every other park waits for the end of summer for a "big addition", in some parks who haven't ever received one. In my eyes, you guys are very lucky! EDIT: v Couldn't agree more, Robb! If there's one thing I can't stand more than the GP, its that!
