  1. I always found SFStL's Fright Fest to be very good. SFGADV's was tame, especially for a park of the budget. The best years of SFStL FF were 2010 and earlier, IMO. Very good memories, at least. I havent been to SFStL this year or Fright Fest since 2013 (went to SFGADv's instead last year like I mentioned). I will get to judge next week when I make my only visit this season.
  2. Look how steep that raft return is!
  3. Yes, just stated major retracking happened a few years back, but nothing major these past few. There are many woodies out there that are much older that do just fine and get maintained just as much, so why you would think it would get knocked down is beyond me. RMCing this classic would be a crime. I know Colossus at SFMM was no GREAT coaster, but I was so disappointed to see that they RMCed it, even if the RMC treatment is a decent ride. Eagle does not have the right type of course for a good ironhorse treatment anyway, but topper track would GREATLY benefit Eagle. Agreed. If SFI does contact RMC for Eagle, I hope they come to their senses and retrack with Topper Track, not Iron Horse. I wouldn't call it a crime though if it came down to Iron Horse or knocking it down.
  4. This Screamin' Eagle hatred is harsh this year. It still is my favorite classic. What's with all the hate?
  5. I agree with Superman. Thunder River is to me an exciting Intamins rapid and better than a good amount of the the ones I've been on. BGW's was the weakest.
  6. Red, brown, orange, orange, orange, neon blue / green, orange, purple / green, red, brown, brown. In that order. I'm personally okay with a change of pace. I would have much, much rather seen an earlier change in pace with Medusa being green and WC being blue (both of which also would make more sense. Its ironic. Oh, SFI. Nothing against the Joker's colors. Those are great and themed appropriately. P.S.: Lightning Rod is painted black, at least by inspection of the announcement.
  7. This a thousand times. Looney Tunes is still being played as far as I know.
  8. Thats too funny. I think that Twisted Colossus is the most unimaginable RMC and the ugliest. Neon blue and green, really? Storm Chaser is my favorite layout. It reminds me if El Toro in its eleglance (for the company) and simplicity. And it's about d*mn time we saw a sole camelback since NTAG.
  9. With a ride that can be built in such a short time, I wouldn't spend any of that in the Northeastern winter!
  10. I would think the world's tallest indoor drop tower is already more than the height of this project as portrayed in the concept art. But could they possibly do a sub-terrian drop ride? Have it drop into a dark pit and bring riders back up?
  11. Manta and Tatsu were great (Tatsu was exceptionally in that case). It's just the Superman clones that are incredibly boring. I've been on every B&M flyer in the US but I haven't tried any of the international ones. I have faith that USJ's will be a custom and so far the customs are good flyers.
  12. I wouldn't even ride Superman for the pretzel loop. The ride is too boring to justify it and its lines are alway ridiculous. I've seen all three (SFOG's a couple of times) and have passed them up lately.
  13. Are you thinking of when she says: "Auf Wieeeeederseeeehen!" ?? I think so actually. I believe it could be when she ends the loading spiel.
  14. This. I prefer Nitro to every B&M hyper. Why (beside the good airtime and ejector ending)? It's the first hill. Currently, the closet you can get to this first hill is i202's first hill. Mako looks like a combination of Shambhala and Nitro, and I'm really excited for it's first hill!
  15. Those are fantastic finds. The video was particularly interesting. I always though the old park looked very "70's".
  16. Most of the time, removing the wheels and lifting the train off by crane will be a guaranteed fix. Some parks may have a sort of quick setach on their trains; others have to unbolt each assembly. Everything depends on location, the day, and the type/make/manufactuer of the coaster.
  17. That looks like it'll be a pain to remove, unless they're close enough to winch it to the brake run.
  18. ^Does not matter. I assume you got some rides on El Toro. That there is a successful day in itself.
  19. TBH, it is the opposite. It felt completely indifferent as to S:TOP @ SFStL (my home park, and the drop tower I'm most used to), until 2/3 of the way down, where it suddenly accelerated to the max speed. That really caught me off guard and intensified me! My father had these same remarks.
  20. ^^What is the final remark (goodbye, I think?) after every dispatch? I just started editing my photos. Today, I imported 400 photos from the trip. Oh noes!
  21. A) I'm pretty sure I don't need to ride it to understand the layout. B) I never said anything about the ride experience - which I wouldn't bash until I experienced it myself. C) I can't afford a flight out there lol. At least I've been before! So lets stop this before this goes into flames in the wrong thread anyway.
