  1. The Six Flags St. Louis Discussion Thread: It's all horrible. The restaurant has been on fire for days and there is still an hour long line for food. VR is blinding people and the roller coaster is literally snapping their necks it's so rough. Over at JL, thanks to bad ops, someone flipped a safety toggle and Cyborg's laser started going off, randomly vaporizing guests (although this did reduce queue time somewhat). The HITP preview got mixed up with the Fright Fest preview and now Krampus is making every child in the park cry uncontrollably. Some trickster - I suspect Wily E. Coyote - installed vibration motors in all the Boss's trains so it's rougher than ever. Worse still I had to drive a full 30 minutes to get to the park but my built in seat massagers were broken so I got drop toes. This all could have been avoided. If only we had gotten Goliath instead of Georgia. Thanks Six Flags.

  3. Yet the location would still remain a rumor mill.
  4. HEY — twinkly lights are pretty. The only other NR I've heard that has been troublesome was DDD, and mostly for capacity reasons.
  5. I know Sarah Hyland from Modern Family ... a good show btw.
  6. I haven't discussed fabrication with B&M and I'm honestly not very familiar with the processes that are used to manufacture the track. All I can tell you is that B&M's are manufactured by Clermont Steel Fabricators in Ohio and they have 1 Cincinnati brake and 1 Wysong CNC brake. B&M has keep all their track manufacturing processes a secret. It would shock me if they gave away that process or minor details of it to ANYONE. My guess is they've might have outlined what machines they use and maybe a very abridged summary of the manufacturing but surely not any details, correct? If they told you more then that must've been omething else and quite an experience.
  7. It would be really nest to overlay many of those graphs and figure out the best strategdy for a park on any day of the week... but I'm too lazy.

  9. Geez, you guys are like the weather. "Well, it started raining now, so we better change those percentages from 0-100% quickly!" You guys wait on the arrival of Ziz like it is some prophecy.
  10. Is this even in English??? Seriously, this is a warning to all of you. Make more stupid posts and you'll all be banned. Get back on topic and stop acting like idiots. It's English in its fullest Southern dialect and ignorance. "Yawl"? Really? I don't even like the word but even I know it is spelled as "y'all".
  11. Yes. It would be time and money well spent on just KD alone. Do plan to go to Busch if possible as it is far more scenic park and has a *cough*better*cough* collection of rides, including a skyride if you are fanatic about those.
  12. Drone footage if possible please. Don't go out of your way if it isn't. It would be really cool if you mounted a Go Pro to several workers (especially the ones working on extreme parts of the ride such as the drop) and included a couple minutes of raw footage of their POV of building Wildfire. I think that it would be really neat to see what it is like climbing all over Wildfire's track or structure at odd angles and shear heights.
  13. Does anyone think that the grey track is destined for SDC? Where did the park stage Outlaw Run's track? I do not yet believe 2017 will for sure be a B&M but I sure do hope so.
  14. There is a triangle. RMC has three letters. C is third letter in "RMC". C is the third letter of the alphabet. Illuminati confirmed.
  15. Does no one else notice the yellow and grey (yes, grey, NOT unpainted) tracks? My guess would eliminate giga as the track connectors are different. Oh, just a little fun blast from the past: It's the green track! I believe this photo means nothing, but it would be interesting if Cedar Fair purchased a green hyper after all.
  16. SFOG could hold a public vote, like with Ninja, for a new name. Then they could repaint the coaster with new colors and get new trains, or more comfortable harnesses, or something like that. How was this at all in response to carolinaman? He said only a repaint would suffice, and then you just stated the orher side of the debate...
  17. I don't know what to think anymore. Some argue the "LC" means it is the center-line of the coaster, BUT this photo includes a stake marked the same way but orange for communications / conduit.
  18. You understand that you were in a line for an attraction targeted to families and that any opinions overheard could / would be slanted, correct? You were literally surrounded by a positive bias towards family rides. Attendance likely boosted with JLBfM becuase the families' appeal of SFStL increased. SFStL did need a new major family attraction. The VR headsets we are discussing must be worn on a coaster. How does one frightened of big rides get on the same coaster only with a VR headset? JLBFM is a dark ride, a completely different discussion than VR replacing the creativity of coaster designs or their entirety. I know some people brought up an old fear in the last couple of pages that simulators would replace coasters, but they are irrelevant to another. Sure, parks might focus on adding more of these as technology allows more via digital sets, but clearly a market for large coasters will remain. The two have different demographics. Thrill seekers are not going anywhere. If a park is to remain an AMUSEMENT park and cater to more people than say Disney / Universal, they will provide rides for each demographic. Look at how many teenagers and families visit Six Flags and compare those figures to Disney / Universal. Side note: physical sets and practical effects are far more impressive IMO than digitally created ones, however, I understand that is only my opinion and that we are seeing that digital effects can provide vastly more for at a much lesser difficulty and price. Theme/amusement parks are businesses and will use increasingly more computer-generated scences and effects in dark rides because it will provide the most ROI. It doesn't take rocket science to speculate such an idea. THAT is MY fear in terms of the future of dark rides but a businesses's dream.
  19. Wow, I've read through everything and still can't wait to read KI and SFOG! Please don't stop writing at such lengths! Which hypers were your favorite? I could figure out which ones you meant, and all the ones you listed are typically well loved. Afterburn looks phenominal with its new paint job. I was really taken aback when i saw those photos of it. That is just too bad about ... mhm, that coaster. When i vosited Dollywood TN Tornado was closed, so to each his own I gues. We both walked off a little bummed. At least you got to see the Rod erected, am I right?
  20. ^That is because Mamba is a snoozefest. Don't get me started about comparing B&M and Morgan airtime (which MANY people would lash to say neither exisit)... but B&M's are more interesting. I'm trying to put this in a way where we don't have complaining.
  21. Ehh, I'm not convinced that they are ride center-line markings. That just would be odd. I double-checked the APWA color codes (which are suggested but not required by any legistlation) and they are indeed considered "temporary markings". ANYTHING is possible by that definition. My guess is they are representing additional drainage. See how the area you've circled is above hill from the yellow line? Water has to flow downhill and this is very important when constructing a new area or grading. You must consider soil erosion, flooding, pollution, et cetera. I'm a little partial becuase I am convinced the ride won't be built over TNT when there is a long strip of land parallel to Indian Road. I just can't image the previous but I totally can the latter.
