  1. There is a restraint classification system where certain restraints are necessary due to acceleration or force in an axis. The codes also cover stuff like shinbars. I can not find the document I occurred a long time ago over this, but I do have some proof of regulations to this sort of thing. First, regulations in general: http://www.saferparks.org/standards See 1.2 on ASTM F2137-15a: http://www.astm.org/Standards/F2137.htm
  2. To be fair, RMC does more than conversioms and custom coasters. Remember, they started as an outsource for wooden coaster maintenance, and in general, construction. Just check out their PORFOLIO. They built El Toro and relocated Deja Vu / Aftershock, after all. I'm sure their is some demolition under their belt somewhere. I'm only bringing this up because. I'm surprised it wasn't given much attention while we were debating the photo's authenticity. I've been convinced since the first photo it's going to be converted.
  3. If it was photoshopped, someone had too much time to get the shadows and shading just right on both pictures. The first one would be particullary difficult.
  4. I would love to know how you got that number. Sure I can walk you through it. #1 is SDC which has been basically confirmed in every sense other than an official press release #2 is SFSTL which will more than likely be adding their 4D Free Fly this year #3 is WOF I actually think this is a very reasonable, and likely estimation as well! WoF is the only one I'm slightly hesitant to expect a coaster from, mostly because they're a CF park not Cedar Point or formerly a Paramount park. But the S&S at SFStL seems very likely, and the SDC coaster is pretty much a certainty. 1. Nothing tells us wether SDC's is coming 2017 or 2018. 2. We thought for certain we were getting the Freespin in 2017, and look at what happens when we assume.
  5. I would love to know how you got that number.
  6. I went to the same event two years ago. Lines were just fine for all rides. Get rides in on the rides not on ERT first. I would hit JL first thing.
  7. ^Or they just repaint it to piss off enthusiasts ...
  8. ^It's a 40. Speaking of which, I looked up the dimensions on Zamperla's website and compared them to measurements taken from Google Earth at several different orientations (with the understanding of a margin of error). No matter the orientation, the fit was very tight! The longest orientation was only 10 ft longer than the length of the ride, and in that orientation the horizontal clearance was one 1 ft / side of the ride's dimensions. This orientation was diagonal from the train tracks to between Johnny Rockets and the Chevy Showcase building. This was just for fun. My assumptions are that Google's measurements are smaller than actuality.
  9. I can pack a much healthier, tastier, fresher, and higher quality lunch than anything Six Flags can offer. I don't understand why people still buy food from Six Flags, unless in extreme cases where unintentionally that becomes your only option.
  10. A Premier Sky Rocket II is the largest new ride I could forsee at WOF anytime. That doesn't mean it would not be a great addition!
  11. I'm suprised it was built. X-Flight came out of nowhere.
  12. I think I agree with you, assuming you meant a B&M flyer. I would only expect something of that scale to be built at least five or so years down the road.
  13. So far everything I've heard says Chevy Showcase is staying. Its either going to run parallel to the tracks or its going to take Slingshots spot. A quick Google Streetview analysis just before reading this post had already killed my hopes. Too bad. I hate that building with passion.
  14. I'm hoping they change the name. Any other time they would not hesitate to use DC. If this thing replaces the Chevy Showroom I will be ecstatic. I wonder if they will open back up the old path to make the ride a centerpeice between two midways.
  15. I absolutely love it too.The theming isn't on the same level as it was in the 90's, but I love seeing DC get used nonetheless. You can alos clearly make out a Batman clone and several other rides. I don't think the pictures are the best evidence to base off of.
  16. Marketing. ROI. Price.
  17. The 4D coaster will likely be mass-cloned. We shouldn't take any insult when getting one. We will be the first of the smaller parks to get one! I don't think SFI is trying to piss us off (actually, I never believe in this idiocy - they don't cater to us) by slapping us in the face again. I will NOT be insulted what-so-ever by a 4D install. Six Flags is just going through a phase with them, checking off the list no different than they did the Super Loops. A standard addition. Differently, Boomerang was an insult, but not on the asinine personal level it is taken for here. I still see Six Flags giving us something with patience. RMC Boss won't happen. Stop dreaming. Also, as I have tried to explain, Goliath in it's layout at Georgia was never destined for SFSTL. There were early talks of a hyper in the same years of planning that would see Goliath announced, and it shared a similar theme (interacting with the road and lake outside the park), but it was never "stolen" last minute. They were two different pitches but only one could be built, which did result in us not getting ours. There's a lot of people misconceived that SFOG wasn't planning their own hyper when we were ours. Think about the timeframe and this should have come to you already!
  18. Oh my god! Get used to it. Who cares if its a reusued name? Your whining will never be truely heard here so stop filling up this thread with it. It has already been decieded what the name will be. Its over. The other ride is halfway across the US, in a regional park I'm certain even most enthusiasts in Cali would not give a crap about. I sure don't and I have family up there, and opportunities therefore to go. I was very excited when they I read the name. Patriot is actually one name they've used lately that makes f**king sense. It's nice to see them think about the Americana charm the park is named for. It's a shame they aren't painting it in WoF's scheme. Its a kick ass scheme I would love to see again.
  19. I don't usually participate in controversial discussions, but this time I will agree. Thank you for emphasizing this. I let the number "150" go over my head until I saw this post and actually stopped to think about it. Holy crap, Batman, 150 years is a lot! YES I think that is something to celebrate. If KD can market their 40th, why can't CP market their 150th!? I'm not implying they will see a new coaster. We have no trends for parks celebrating 150 years to speculate changes on. I believe Cedar point will be the first major / cooperate parkto reach 150 anyway, correct?
  20. This is what happens when people assume they know what's going on with a park. I've decided especially in this thread to just wait for an official announcement from the park on any new additions they are getting. Given the history of this thread, you know, the "Oh it's a Dive Machine, now it's a flying coaster, now it's a hyper coaster, now it's a wing coaster, now it's a launched coaster, now it's a spinning coaster..." Yeah, no. I think the most creditable thing right now is the spinning coaster, and that's because it came straight from plans the park made public. I came here to speak of this.
  21. Yes. That's the only reason why. Yeah, I'm not buying that crap. Like you, I can't see any evidence that this won't be for 2017. Anyone can pick a year that sounds pretty.
  22. And that year of coasters could all be Larson Loops!!
