  1. First track pieces of new Bobbejaanland's new roller coaster: different color than expected Bobbejaanland's new roller coaster will get a different color than was thought. Last month the Flemish amusement park showed the first designs of the spectacular triple-launch coaster Fury. The track was then red. Now that the first parts have arrived in Bobbejaanland, it appears that it is orange. Red was on closer inspection "not powerful enough", says a spokeswoman for the amusement park. "This color is much closer to the fire." The story of Fury is about the "fiery battle" with the dragon Fogo. The supports are dark brown. At the end of February the Bobbejaanland management already visited the factory of the German manufacturer Gerstlauer. "Given the tight timing, it is important for us to closely follow the production process," says CEO Yves Peeters. In recent months, the area where the roller coaster should be placed has been strengthened. "More than four hundred concrete supporting pillars of fourteen meters deep were built," Peeters explains. Now the construction of the track can really begin. The work is still on schedule for an opening in June. Fury will be the highest and fastest triple-launch coaster in the Benelux, with a top speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. Passengers are launched forward, backward and forward again. Source
  2. Big refurbishment for waterride Bermuda Triangle Movie Park Germany is going to renovate the famous waterride Bermuda Triangle - Alien Encounter. The popular attraction, which has been struggling with overdue maintenance for years, is closed until June for a major makeover. The interior and the exterior are thereby tackled. The water attraction will be called Area 51 - Top Secret from next summer. Since its opening in 1996, the Bermuda Triangle has been dominated by the infamous Bermuda Triangle in the Atlantic, where, according to stories, aliens are active. The attraction will soon revolve around the mysterious American military base Area 51, located in the Nevada desert. Now the attraction still looks like a huge volcano. "The volcano will disappear", marketing director Manuel Prossotowicz says. "Visitors go back to the early fifties, where they discover the secret behind Area 51. The US government invites them to an open day on the military base. In this way, they want to prove that there is nothing true about rumors about supernatural life forms." Movie Park has engaged media companies IMAscore and IMAmedia for composing a new soundtrack and installing new effects. "The concept comes from our own creative department," says Prossotowicz. The reopening is planned for the start of the summer holidays. Source

  5. Swedish amusement park invests 14 million euros in new dark ride The biggest amusement park in Sweden will open a new dark ride in 2020. That has Liseberg attraction park, located in Göteborg, just announced. The family attraction of 14 million euros, which is going to be called Underland, is completely dedicated to rabbits. "Visitors are invited underground to experience the secret world of the rabbits, with several fantastic scenes", Liseberg says. The mascot of the park is a green rabbit. Underland will be the first darkride in Liseberg in more than forty years. The transport system, with eighteen carts for four people, is supplied by the Italian manufacturer Gosetto. The track will be 190 meters long. A ride will take about three and a half minutes. For the decorations, the park will work with the Dutch company P&P Projects. The moving figures come from the American company LifeFormations. The attraction will be located in the Kaninlandet children's area, which means Rabitland. A theater could be found at that location. In total Liseberg invested 19 million euros in the themed area. Director Andreas Andersen expects a lot from the new darkride. "We are setting a new standard for this type of attraction in Sweden," he says. An old darkride with fairy-tale characters was demolished in 2017. "We promised our guests that the replacement would be bigger and better, and we are now meeting that promise." Source

  7. Efteling reveals new scenes from De Oude Tufferbaan De Oude Tufferbaan in the Efteling is provided with four different interactive scenes. Today the theme park shows how the new scenes will look like. During a ride in the famous old-timers, visitors will soon pass a large number of farm animals. They react when passengers are horning. It concerns hares, chickens on top of a broken car, chickens on top of a milkman's cart and chickens on a scarecrow. "When you horn to the animals, they respond to the new attraction music", the Efteling says. The scenes were sketched by Efteling designer Karel Willemen. The family attraction has been closed since February 18 for a refurbishment of 1.8 million euros. In about two months time, the operating system, the vehicles and all the lights will be replaced. The classic T-Fords from 1984 are history. Visitors will soon take place in one of the new cars and pick-ups of the German company Metallbau Emmeln. Only the drivers are dry at the pick-ups. Self-steering is no longer possible. The 580-meter long trail does not change. Source

  9. Bobbejaanland reveals name, theme and designs of new launched coaster The new launched roller coaster of Bobbejaanland gets an impressive theme. The Flemish theme park is building a spectacular 43 meter high roller coaster this winter with three launches. Today Bobbejaanland announces how the attraction will look like. The name of the roller coaster is also revealed. The triple-launch coaster is named Fury. According to the accompanying story, visitors start a "fiery battle" with the dragon Fogo. During the ride, they are launched forward, backward and forward with a top speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour. In doing so, they travel through four inversions. Fury will be located in the new themed area Land of Legends, where the existing roller coaster Typhoon and giant frisbee Sledge Hammer can also be found. "This will be the first themed area in Bobbejaanland with a real total experience," says Bobbejaanland director Yves Peeters. "It is the largest investment in the history of our park, and I am convinced that we are putting something legendary here." Four elements The story behind the themed area revolves around the Guardian of Elements. That is a patron who created the Land of Legends somewhere on our planet to protect the four elements of nature - earth, water, fire and wind - against evil forces. Although he closed the four different realms with gates, the danger is always in wait. In the themed area of 20.000 m², each attraction represents a different element. "Visitors become part of the story themselves." Drawings show how the terrain around the rollercoaster is decorated with a large number of mythical figures, bridges, water features and lots of greenery. There will also be a new water playground - Naiads Waters - where the huge water hose Uvù is the service. Immense dragon Bobbejaanland called in the Dutch Leisure Expert Group for the designs and the storyline. The station building of Fury looks like a mysterious castle. In addition to the bright red track, an immense dragon rises. The Flemish writer Mathilda Masters developed the concept into a complete story. The German company IMAscore provides the music. Fury is 600 meters long, but thanks to the triple launch, passengers will be laying a total of 830 meters. A switch ensures that two trains can stand on the track at the same time. There will be 2 trains, each holding 12 passengers, resulting in an hourly capacity of approximately 680 passengers. The coaster of the German company Gerstlauer opens in June. Source
