  6. Do SLC's, we need to settle which SLC is the best. Fly the Great Nor'Easter. Is this even a question? Roller Coaster Mayan at Energylandia was also pretty decent.
  7. World first for Bobbejaanland: guests decide for themselves whether new roller coaster goes forwards or backwards The new roller coaster Fury in Bobbejaanland is provided with a unique interactive element. After boarding the train, visitors can decide for themselves whether they want to experience the ride forwards or backwards. This confirms a spokeswoman for the Flemish amusement park. "Each restraint is equipped with a button panel with which passengers can "vote" whether they want to go forwards or backwards," a spokeswoman explains. "That happens while the train runs towards a turntable." Most votes apply. "So if the majority opts for backwards, the ride is made backwards and vice versa." This is an ingenious new system from the German manufacturer Gerstlauer. There is room for twelve people per train. In the event of a tie, the computer determines what will happen. "We have an absolute world first in our hands. No other roller coaster in the world currently has such interaction. It also ensures a very high repeat value." A ride in the 43 meter high triple-launch coaster Fury consists of three launches and four inversions. With a top speed of 106.6 kilometers per hour, it will be the fastest roller coaster in the Benelux. The opening is expected to take place in June. Source

  9. Tallest free fall in Europe opens at Hansa park The tallest free fall tower in Europe has been officially opened. The northern German Hansa-Park has erected a 120 meter high gyro drop tower. The attraction, which is called Highlander, goes at a whopping 120 kilometers per hour. Once at the top, the seats fold forward. Then visitors make a perpendicular free fall of 103 meters, before they are slowed down. Special is that Highlander has two different ride programs. They are always chosen completely randomly, director Christoph Andreas Leicht told the opening ceremony on Friday evening. "With one of the two programs, the seats fold back before the free fall. With the other, you fold forward and immediately fall down." There is room for 24 people per ride. The Austrian company Funtime was called in for the construction. The German company IMAscore provided a special soundtrack, which can also be heard at a height of 120 meters. The gondola is equipped with speakers. Highlander is located in a Scottish theme area. The immense tower was built in the middle of the track of the 39-year-old Nessie family roller coaster, whose station building was redecorated this year. Source
  10. I really love the theming at this park as well. And OzIris has to be one of the best looking coasters out there. Thank you! Grand Splatch didn't play any music when I rode it. And like you said, it is weird that is basically the only ride at the park that isn't really themed and is just "a ride", without more. I never really thought Goudurix was one of the worst coasters, but when I rode it last week it was definitely the smoothest ride I have ever had on it. I don't remember them retracking the ride, so I don't know what they did. But I approve!
  11. Yes, that is indeed true. They have got no idea when it will reopen. Together with Lost Gravity, Spinning Vibe has been closed since the start of this season. Earlier this week, it was announced that Blast (Huss Topspin) would also be stationary in the coming period.
