After the announcement of the changes to the opening times of several rides, Alton Towers has now updated their website with this statement. So all of the rides will now be operational by 11:00, and Congo River Rapids will also be open for the entire length of the season! -

Bobbejaanland Discussion Thread
JordyC replied to Noobitizer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's right, I'm not a big fan of VR, but this coaster is ideal for that. My only concern are the waiting times, because on normal days, you already have to wait for about an hour. With VR, the waiting times will only increase. This is my main concern as well. The wait for this ride is going to be ridiculous. It already had one of the worst moving lines in the park, and now with the VR on it.. Yikes! I agree that I much rather see VR on a coaster like this than on a major thrill ride. I will always prefer a coaster without VR though. But to be honest, I think this is just a cheap way to give this ride some new life, because it really wasn't looking good. And now that they add VR to it, it doesn't matter how it looks. What Bobbejaanland really needs is a major new attraction, and not another coaster that offers VR and slows down operations. But it's better than nothing, I guess. -
Movie Park Germany Discussion Thread
JordyC replied to apollo210's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Movie Park Germany renews Mystery River Movie Park Germany will give their rapid river Mystery River a new theme. Next season, the 1996 attraction will be dominated by King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Wizard Merlin sends visitors on a quest for the legendary sword Excalibur. "This is one of the oldest and most popular attractions in our park", says director Thorsten Backhaus. "We want to give this veteran the pride it deserves and therefore give it a fresh upgrade, including a new name." Mystery River is now called Excalibur - Secrets of the Dark Forest. The ride consists of "dangerous maneuvers through enchanted forests and dark caves". Backhaus: "Every part of the attraction will get new decorations, but the layout remains the same." The renovation has been planned for more than six years. Until now, however, there was no budget for it. For the metamorphosis, Movie Park works together with a number of well-known names in the theme park industry: the Dutch Leisure Expert Group, the German media companies IMAscore and IMAmedia and the Danish company Tema Design, part of MK Illumination. Mystery River opened in 1996 as "Die Unendliche Geschichte", based on the movie The NeverEnding Story. When Warner Bros. Movie World was renamed Movie Park in 2005, the movie license disappeared and the attraction had to be adapted. As a cheap and quick solution they chose for cheap dolls of dwarfs, trolls and witches.
