  4. ^The part from the brakes until the first drop remains unchanged.
  5. That transition into the corkscrews looks so smooth now! It is rumored that the piece of track that connects the old Python with the new one doesn't fit properly. I saw photos of them trying to "move" the first looping by pulling on it with chains. It will be interesting to see how they are going to solve this.
  6. Yes. Have you ridden an Intamin Mega-Lite?
  7. New owner for German amusement park Belantis The German amusement park Belantis has a new owner. The attraction in East Germany is taken over by Parques Reunidos, known from Slagharen, Bobbejaanland and Movie Park Germany. In January there were already talks about a takeover by the Spanish chain Parques Reunidos. The deal is now complete. Belantis director Erwin Linnenbach has announced that he will leave the park. For the time being, the management of the park consists of four people. One of them is Thorsten Backhaus, the director of Movie Park Germany. He will combine both functions. Belantis, opened in 2003, attracts around 600,000 visitors a year. There are four roller coasters. Parques Reunidos is the owner of over sixty amusement parks, water parks and animal parks in fourteen different countries. The head office is in Madrid. Source
  8. Efteling will keep the reservation system at Python The Efteling will keep the free reservation system at Python when the ride re-opens later this year. The experiment in which visitors had to reserve a Boarding Pass before a ride was, according to a spokeswoman, successful. That is why it will be definitively introduced this spring. "We tested the Boarding Pass for a few months last autumn and the results were positive," says the information officer. "Our guests appreciate the simplicity of the system, which is why we continue." The concept will not be adjusted. This means that the normal queue of Python closes when the Boarding Pass is active. Visitors can only join the queue with a reservation. Requesting a Boarding Pass for a time of your choice can be done via the Efteling app or with the aid of ticket machines next to the attraction. A maximum number of people is allowed every 15 minutes. This way the queue stays short. This principle is the Efteling's variant of Disney's FastPass system, although there is always a normal row available there. At the same time, the queue is also adjusted. The Efteling introduces, among other things, a special single riders row for the attraction. There are also rumors going around that the Boarding Pass will be introduced at the new-for-2017 family attraction Symbolica. It will be tested for a couple of weekends, after which the park will decide whether it will be introduced permanently or not. Source
  9. What a great report! It's a shame about the troubles you had with your flight, but it seems like you still had a great trip. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to the next update!
  10. Walibi Belgium reveals name of new roller coaster The new roller coaster of Walibi Belgium is going to be called Tiki-Waka. The theme park has announced this at a meeting this morning. Furthermore, a second new attraction was announced for 2018: a play trail called Tiki Trail. Both additions will be located in a Hawaiian themed area at the back of the park, near the interactive darkride Challenge of Tutankhamon. In addition, the indoor swimming paradise Aqualibi will be expanded with a children's area of seven hundred square meters. The new part is called Kiddie Bay. Walibi Belgium will reopen on Saturday 31 March. The plans are part of an ambitious master plan of the Belgian theme park. In the coming years several major attractions will be installed, including an interactive water attraction (2019), a children's roller coaster (2019), an interactive dark ride (2020), a megacoaster (2021) and a Sky Fly (2022-2023).
