^You are correct!

No, that is not the one. Some more hints: - It is partially built over water. - It inverts through the station. - The drop looks very similar to a world-class coaster located in the same continent, despite being from a different manufacturer. - If someone told you 5 years ago this coaster would be from *manufacturer*, everyone would have called them crazy.

Next one: - It is the best roller coaster in its country (for now) - It is currently the only one of its kind - There is however a similar coaster located in the same country and one being under construction in a different continent - It is also the fastest, longest and tallest coaster in its country

World novelty in Schwaben Park World premiere in Schwaben Park announced for 2018. Next year, the first of its kind roller coaster "Wilde Hilde" by Ride Engineers (RES) will be built in Kaisersbach, Swabia, which is a perfect complement to the existing attraction portfolio. The Swiss company "RES" will join in the hard-fought roller coaster market and plans to open its first own roller coaster in 2018. The prototype of the "Roller Ball" is to be placed in Schwaben Park next to Force One and is like a family-friendly version of the ZacSpin by Intamin or FreeSpins by S&S. Thematically, it refers back to the farm theme, more specifically to a Chicken Coop. And with the name "Wilde Hilde", the roller coaster will have a short but fitting name for the theme. But what makes the Roller Ball so special? By lift, it goes to a height of 25 meters and then follows a veritable "mess". Before each drop, the gondolas are braked with magnetic brakes and will start to rock back and forth, before it goes down the drop and the direction of travel is changed. This makes the attraction very suitable for families. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] Source

The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!
JordyC replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Exact same thing happened to me. Spent a while arranging things, hit save, and it didn’t save. No big deal, just seconding this. Also, I don’t see SFOG listed on the site. So happy to see that this exists now though! I have got the same problem.. -
The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!

This is fantastic! I have been looking forward to something like this for a very long time! There are some of my favourite coasters that currently are not in the poll, and may be worth adding to it: - Alpina Blitz (Nigloland) - Red Force (Ferrari Land) - Star Trek: Operation Enterprise (Movie Park Germany) - Troy (Toverland) - Gold Rush (Slagharen) - Baron 1898 (Efteling) - Joris en de Draak (Efteling) - Dæmonen (Tivoli Gardens) - Heide The Ride (Plopsaland De Panne) - Van Helsing's Factory (Movie Park Germany) - Rutschebanen (Tivoli Gardens) -

Efteling Discussion Thread
JordyC replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Efteling is a park that is very proud of itself and its history. I understand why they are renewing it - to preserve a piece of history that really was a milestone for this park. Plus, there are a lot of locals that grew up with this ride as being their first major coaster. They don't do this just with Python either, they renew almost every attraction, building or fairytale (with pretty much the only big exception being Pegasus). And honestly, I really appreciate that they care so much about their older rides. Efteling is a very big park with a lot of space where they can build new rides and themed areas. I don't know if it has been mentioned here yet, but in the next couple of years they are going to expand on a whole new plot of land located between Vogel Rok and Python, next to the current park, with a total area of 80,000 square meters. According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, they are going to open a major new attraction with this expansion. What I am trying to say, without disrespecting someone's opinion, is it that if the park had a shortage of land, then I would have said the same: "Just scrap it and build something new". But they have plenty of land were they can build new rides and attractions, so it is nice to see that this piece of history will be preserved. -

Efteling Discussion Thread
JordyC replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^When it first opened back in 1981, it was the biggest, longest and fastest coaster in Europe. It was something that no one had ever seen before, and it was located at a park that practically only had fairytales. It would have been "easy" to replace it with a coaster that is bigger, longer, faster and has more inversions. But unlike most parks, Efteling cares about their history. This is like a real tribute to the coaster that made Efteling the park it is today - one of the best. -
Because no one is giving a next one, I will give one so we can keep the game going - It is the only one of its kind - It is the second fastest coaster in its country - The monkey causes a wine explosion - The opening took place 2 days before the opening celebration

Efteling Discussion Thread
JordyC replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The demolition of Python has started After months of preparations, the time has finally come: the demolition of Python in the Efteling has started. Some parts of the track are already removed. They started with the helix at the end of the rollercoaster. The 350,000 kilos of steel is cut into pieces with cutting torches. Then the roller coaster parts are cut into pieces of about 3,000 kilos with large hydraulic pliers, which later will be carried away and melted. Since last Saturday, Python has been closed for a major renovation, in which virtually the entire track is being replaced. The demolition of the coaster from 1981 will take two and a half weeks. The installation of the new track sections will take seven to eight weeks. At the same time, the operating system, brakes and gates in the station are also being replaced. The first turn and the lift hill will stay the same. The renewed Python must be operational by the end of March. The layout of the coaster does not change. Source and Source -

That's fantastic news! I really liked Colossos when I first rode it a couple of years ago, but that backbreaking helix really did take away from the experience for me.. So I am glad that they are going to improve the ride, and most importantly reopening Colossos! Never thought I would say this, but Merlin might have made the right decision this time. -

Here is a new video from Alton Towers about Wicker Man and how they came up with the idea for the ride. In the video it is mentioned that "the huge theming feature, which is the Wicker Man himself, will burst into flames as you go through him". -
