  1. When I scrolled down, I thought the star flyer was a Larson drop tower! Thanks for sharing, an interesting park.
  2. NO No no no no! 2 reasons. Firstly the footers do not match it at all. Secondly, for RMC to pull that off using wooden supports, or even the steel ones, it would need to be twice the height. They do more roll based inversions, rather than loop based ones. This will not happen at all. Sorry. This will either be a corner or overbank turn.
  3. ^ I did the same thing, and I was pretty annoyed. I woke up early and queued up to get on the rides for opening, entered the park, only to see you could not enter any of the areas really, and had to wait outside the rides until 9.30 for smaller rides, and 10 for all the big rides to open. By that point, there are massive queues. I am not quite sure why they do it, probably to control the flow of people, but it was still quite a disappointment. No chance of getting in first, running to Taron and getting two quick rides before the queue gets big. However, I would arrive my half nine, and queue up, as as soon as the rides open, there is a half an hour queue, or an hour for Taron or more. This is from my experience. See the picture me next to the Black Mamba queue.
  4. Wow. Very impressive and realistic. But, I still don't get it. I really wish this ride excites me. I really do. Regarding expansions, does anyone think they will go for another B&M for their next coaster. Possibly a flying coaster?
  5. That is purely the manufacturers guide lines. All rides of this type have a 1.2m or 48" height restriction, so you cannot really say it is bad. Sorry, try again. PS: Surf Dog is operated by the same chain and is located in the same state. Interesting! I stand corrected. I looked at a range of the versions of the rides, and saw that they all had the same height restriction. I know where I went wrong though, I was looking at the outward seating Zamperla rides, my knowledge of small Cedar point rides is not so good. I knew pipe scream was a Zamperla shuttle thing with a hump, but did not know the seating arrangements. Sorry.
  6. Nah a turn too low would be pointless like the original Hurler. The overbank I drew was largely exaggerated, mostly because I was using the markup feature on my iPhone. I think an airtime pop followed by a small overbank like Wicked Cyclone would be ideal. I can also imagine a tunnel after the first drop to increase the speed a bit. I see where you are going with that. While I do not know now forceful a RMC overbank is, I know the ones on Taron can be really forceful. A tunnel would be nice, but that would not work on the plot size. It is simply not big enough for a drop, tunnel, then airtime hill, THEN overbank. There is really not enough room. What could also happen, is that you could get a double up sort of thing, but with an overbank instead of a second hill crest. Like a mini version of what is seen on New Texas Giant.
  7. I think a more forceful approach with a low to the ground turn would be better, but it depends if they are going for a less intense ride. An overbank would be nice and fun, but that is it. An inverting first drop (Like stormchaser) followed by a fast paced turn would be really thrilling and fun. Then pull up for a beautiful, fairly large airtime hill...perfect.
  8. That is purely the manufacturers guide lines. All rides of this type have a 1.2m or 48" height restriction, so you cannot really say it is bad. The worst one I have seen is Chessington's Rattle snake, which is a 1.4m height restriction, which is absolutely rubbish. You can ride the bigger version (XXL) at the fair at only 1.1m, and that one does not operate the trims. Oh well, it keeps the queues down for me, but when I was smaller, damn it was annoying.
  9. Also, if anyone wanted to see a 360 degree on ride POV of any of the rides at the fair, just say, and I will upload them as soon as possible.
  10. Hello all! Sorry for the delay for the final part of the TR, but as I said at the beginning, it would be a three part photo trip report. My final adventure was in Watford! Yay! There was a fun fair there that I had researched, and in past years they had many great travelling rides, like KMG's and Mondial top scans. Apart from Winter Wonderland, I have not been to a large fun fair with big ride. If you check out my first TR in Harpenden, you can see what I usually go to. While this year the fair was not as good has it was in other years, as Milton Keynes stole all the good rides, there was still a decent collection of Spin and Pukes, making it the second biggest fair I have been to! The best ride was the Ice Jet. It was really quite intense, and went very fast. It is how I imagine an Arrow inverted coaster would have felt like. Also, honorable mention to the, essentially, knock off KMG oblivion. It was made by a company I still have not figured out, and it had nothing on the KMG rides, but it was OK. More nauseating than the KMG rides, while not giving as much air time, or forces. There were many more things, including two of my favorite small fun fair rides, the super trooper and Orbiter. Sadly both ran incredibly short cycles, none the less made me happy. Time for some Extreme rides! Miami? No thanks. These are not great rides, and very uncomfortable. Fine for my local fair, but that is it. There were two fun houses. Both were significantly better than the one in Harpenden. Out of the two, this has the better slide, but not as good everything else. Trying to photoshop some of the images to look more creepy. I think this is a success. The crown of the fair. Very intense, very fast, and very disorientating. Here is the Super Trooper. Very fun rides and quite thrilling. Basically a better version of the ride I missed out on at Wicksteed a few days earlier. It tilted fully down in both directions, giving a great free fall/pull up sensation, as well as some good swinging. Waltzer. I had enough of these, and my stomach is not made of titanium plated steel. This was the second fun house. I could be sure I recognize the name??? Not sure where from? This was the better fun house. Note the cool water feature of the floating tap. Also, note the graphics of the water ride this is trying to imitate. An attempt at photo shopping it to make it look more creepy. Not sure on the success of this one. This was actually a really top notch ghost train for a travelling fair. It was old, but it was actually really long, and there were lodes of scenes with sounds, lights and moving things. Probably the best ghost train outside of winter wonderland. This does not do it justice. How my camera on my phone did not blur this image is beyond me! The speed this thing goes is insane. Almost like you are on the end of a helicopter propeller, about to take off. It is kind of rough, but a fun rough. High speed, quick transitions, high forces, unpredictable at times. What more could you want from a ride? Well, this thing has one more trick in its sleeve... IT DOES IT AGAIN, BACKWARDS!!! Move over Movie Park, this ride did it first. Wow, never have I been so disorientated,as when this thing fired itself up, and blasted backwards for a few seconds. Also, a really long cycle. One of the best £2 I have spent. The orbiter in action. This packed a punch. I have been on a better one at a small fair in the Isle of Wight, however it was still fast and furious. Mixed feelings about this one. It was OK...and that is it. I was super excited to ride this one, and the fact it took 20 minutes to dispatch was not a nice thing, especially with the solid seats and ghetto harness pushing down on you. I would try it again another time, but it just did not hit the spot this time around. Vortex seemed to swing to a greater angle than this, and it is a park model. Almost... There! I like this picture for all the wrong reasons. My work is still not done on it. There was also a cred! Yay. Now, lets see what I can do to this to make it look scary. This coaster was actually a great family ride, and for a fair, a good coaster. Better than a Go Gator, and it counts as a coaster! It is powered by a single tire in the station, which first launches (Yes, launches) the train backwards, then launches it forwards through the rest of the track. You get about 10 circuits. I asked to ride back row. Not sure why! Maybe more air time! Also, the ride was themed to Shrek. Obviously it was correctly licensed, what else would you expect! This ride is love...this ride is life...If you get that reference, may God have mercy on you soul. I was going to not post all these pictures, but someone might be obsessed with this ride. An overview of overcast Britain. There was also a range of games. This is a great walk through haunted house, and the graphics on the front are actually really good detail. At this, I say good bye for now. I hope you enjoyed reading, and if not, then please give feedback on how I can make it better.
  11. ^ The the capacity will be reduced for the sake of a gimmick.
  12. Does anyone have a review on all three towers yet? It seems a little strange having three rides which do the same thing, except for capacity sake.
  13. And I'm sure that RMC at least took a look at Son of Beast before Banshee was built. Maybe not. Remember, they have only recently become the big company that they are. Back when SOB closed, they had no coasters. If I owned a park and just closed down a massive wooden coaster, made by a company which promised the world, and an inversion, which had failed, I would prefer that the next massive coaster would be made by a reliable company which people KNOW make great rides. Did RMC even exist in 2009? Also, correct me if I am wrong, but was one of the reasons the ride had to be removed, was due to the original actual wooden structure being a pile of crap?
  14. That is great! It should be a standard one.
  15. Great TR! This park actually looks really good now, and Monster looks like pure awesome.
  16. 5 months ago, in London, and it was packed, so I could not get on the sim. When was the last time you said something nice to someone?
  17. My definition of a coaster is: 1. It has to coast up hill under its own momentum 2. The track has to make some lateral movement, like turn, loop, etc. 3. It must stay on the track the whole duration. If all this is satisfied, I count it as a coaster. And as I said before, I KNOW Ex G is not a hyper. I am not stupid. I have put across the point that it is the closest thing to a hyper, so for me it is my top hyper.
  18. Uugh! This discussion is soooooo last season. Get with the times people, it is no longer 2016, it is 2017. We now live in an age where The Smiler is no longer judged, Vekomas are smooth, China's coaster industry is booming. It is a great time in the world of coasters. Just because two RMC coasters are sitting unused, it is not the end of the world. Some day Wildfire and Lightning Rod will fire up their engines and be thrilling riders, but not today, nor tomorrow, nor even this week. There is nothing we can do to help the situation, nor do we know anything about the details of the situation. It could literally be anything which is causing LR to not run. It has pushed so many boundaries, so this was obvious that it could happen. To try and change the subject, I was wondering (and legitimately was before that little detour/rant) if the cinnamon bread is changed over the years to make it better, or if it stays the same?
  19. My second favorite is Holiday Park, Germany. That place is really nice.
  20. Link I fail to see how Six Flags is at fault here since it's not their fault and didn't even happen on their property. Maybe someone can shed some light on this? From the outside looking in this seems absolutely ridiculous. That is a lot of money the park has to pay, despite the park having NOTHING to do with the event. It was a group of thugs who are to blame. Sure, some of the thugs worked there, but it is them who should pay.
  21. Taron's Launch is pure awesome. It roars through the valley. Also, if you stand right next to the hole on Oblivion, it sounds like an explosion when the train hits the tunnel. When the train is falling, it is silent (Zero G) yet, when it hits the track at the bottom, the most epic B&M boom, followed by a roar is spewed out of the hole.
