American Dream: Sea Life Aquarium Legoland Discovery Centery Amazing all Proslide water park Theme Park with interesting mash up of two Gerstlauers already known. KidZania New Toys r us Flagship store (maybe) Ski slope with tube rums Not to forget any outside wheel built Or other attractions like imax screens, soaring type ride of the NYV skyline and bowling/FEC type facilities like D&B all in a cluster Add that to,the apparent smooth ride the proposed full sized Lego Park is having outside of NYC . Six Flags may need to revisit parks lie Frontier City and expand out the Water Park side of things and feed STL and the Texas parks with the season passes. Magic Springs would fall into this cat. A compltry new water park only in the Memphis area would make bank and feed the dry parks in STL and ATL along with Northwest Arkansas for the STL and Dallas dry parks.

I wrote a book about Libertyland!

Thanks! I can't take credit for the photo, though. It was taken by Robert Dye, who photographed for the park. Awesome - thank you so much! It was a labor of love but incredibly rewarding. The photographs were sourced from local libraries, historical archives, former employees, visitors, etc. The entire book was really a community effort. There are so many names deserving of a spot on the cover. Now that's a Zippin Pippin story if I've ever heard one. And now I want to eat ice cream while riding a coaster. Eh, I don't think the park's demise can be traced back to any one person. I tried to steer clear of politics in the book, instead focusing solely on the facts and photographs, the latter of which tell the best story. I do wish Graceland would have picked up the Pippin. The people of Green Bay adore the replica. If only... Mid South Fair Maanagement was horriffic as well. The fairgrounds limited any expansion at that time, now look at it. The fact that all that became of Libertyland at this time is a tailgating area for team that attracts around 35,000 a game. The MCS stands vacant with neverending quibbling over it's future. There's a huge void in the region. Memphis is ideally situated between Nashville, LittLe Rock, and Jackson MS. to support a good regional dry/water park and a hotel or two adjacent to it. Perfectly space between to two HFC parks and Six Flags parks. Magic Springs doesn't really count does it? Anyhoo, I bought the book. Hello Tivoli on the Mississippi Look at availible specs on the north end, south of the bridge -

I remember riding the Revolution 23 times in a row on a slow day. In my eyes, that coaster gave Libertyland the edge over Orpyland back in the mid 80's as the Wabash Cannonball only had corkscrews. And... I have fond memories of the stand that had the iced floating watermelons that came from the Scott Street Market. The Zippin Pippin was my first coaster. No Wacky Worms for me. Another casualty of King Willy. Just gave the Zippin Pippin name rights away. Somehow, if the city had held on to them, the folks that run Graceland these days may have been interested. I've posted updates on the Grand Carousel and it's new home at the Children's Museum. Memphis has a perfect spot for a Tivoli Gardens style park, Mud Island. Especially the northern end. -
Toverland Discussion Thread

Yep, in 2019, it's Efteling, Toverland, Phantasialand and Europa for sure. -
The timing of this park was horrible and location even worse, If this park happened in Vegas or Orlando or attached to one of the casino properties like Tampa two to three years before or in the past 3 to 4 years things could have been so different and we'd still have a B&M with a custom Zepplin soundtrack playing during the ride. All I can think of is Orlando with a dedicated Hard Rock resort entrance as part of Universal.

Don't forget Jardin d'Acclamation is revamping the whole park into a Steampunk theme complete with new rides including some more thrilling for older folks. There's also Phantasialand a few hours away embracing steampunk with Rookburgh next year. We are determined to visit Nantes for Les Machines de l'île whIle also visiting Puy du Fou. -
WOW air is really expanding service, Saint Louis, Cleven and and so on. Icelandic is too but not as fast. Norwegian will continue to add US cities as they get more planes. He has mentitled my city (Memphis) several times so I'm getting kinda confident. Here's an article out of Scotland on it http://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/norwegian-to-launch-cheap-flights-from-edinburgh-to-los-angeles-and-san-francisco-1-4477392

5 years ago it would cost you nearly 2,000 to fly nonstop to Orlando to Memphis. It was a Delta hub. After they have dehubbed it, we now have Southwest, A llegiant and now Frontier all offering nonstops. The Frontier flights start in November and some fares are 29 bucks each way. Anywho, Barclay's is offering an American Airlines Aviator Red Card with 60,000 mile bonus for making a single purchase. There is a 95 dollars yearly fee. A couple could each get one and take several round trips together for basically 200 bucks. Cancel the card after you have used up the points and before the anniversary date comes around so you don't get hit for the annual fee again. The card also offers some free luggage perks. Frontier also started Tulsa to San Diego. That's a nice way to get there. Tue, Thursday and Sun flights. Nice spacing.

I wonder what the timeline for the water park is. A compact GG woodie along the lines of ZDTs and FunSpot would fit this park. -
Libertyland's Grand Carousel to be uncrated
ElvisLuv replied to ElvisLuv's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Update, the 1909 Dentzel will once again be enjoyed come November. Some of Libertyland will actually live again in Memphis https://www.memphisdailynews.com/news/2017/sep/7/historic-grand-carousel-expected-to-be-unveiled-in-november/ Sure wish Memphis had kept the rights to the Zippin Pippin as Elvis Presley Enterprises may have come around for it considering their continued growth of Graceland which now offer a 7,000 performance venue for up to 50 events a year -

Just a FYI for the Europeans on the board WOW Air announced service to St. Louis starting next year. They announced Cleveland and Cincinnati as well when Norwegian starts getting the A321LR, expect even more TATL service to midsized cities like Kansas City and Memphis in 2020. Come see Dixie Stampede before the PC Police kills it. http://www.slate.com/articles/arts/culturebox/2017/08/visiting_dolly_parton_s_dinner_show_dixie_stampede.html -

Yeah, some missed moments for more air time there. Maybe the park wanted a tamer ride. I wish more parks did this. To hit that area when a train on the B&M is flying by at the same time would be neat. I have someone that I know that frequents Chengdu several times a year as his company has a plant there. He's helping me with planning a trip there down the road. I may actually get to ride these in a few years. I'm kinda wanting to see what Wanda does there -
