  1. Same here...I'm not going to say I was ever so knowledgable in the coaster world. Here's a few I have said: (Looking at KBF's parkmap) Hey, Jaguar has a loop! (What I saw was one of the coaster's helix type thingies) Hey, how does Tidal Wave work? There's no chain lift...does the car have an engine in it and just take off? (Refering to PGA's Tidal Wave/Greased Lightning before I heard of launched coasters) Hey, SFMW's copying off of KBF with the boomerang coaster....Hey, Six Flags is ripping off PGA...Six Flags Great America...Six Flags is a copy-cat! (I then learned about the cloning of coasters and learned about how SFGA used to be PGA's sister park.) Won't you fly out if you go upside down? (Ok, I was in like the second grade there) Lastly while looking at PGA's old park map's Demon, I thought the corkscrews were inverted loops (Loops that are literally upside down) until I actually saw a picture of the corkscrews. We've all made noobish comments at one time or another!
  2. Never heard of abortion in horses... If a coaster stalls on the crest of a hill (like TTD did in the past) then does it "Mountain" instead of "Valley"?
  3. Wow...that must suck and must have hurt. This kinda reminds me of what Robb experienced at PGA: The wobbly chairswings that wouldn't stop.
  4. Yea...when I first saw the coaster, I thought, "Oh boy, why'd they even bother...they screwed it up majorly..." Depressed in the queue, I was up to ride. Yes, the launch has tamed down a lot now and the back spike seems....stubby. So, I grab the back seat so I can get the highest point and be vertical. Personally, I like the modified 45 degree spiral better than the vertical as everyone goes through it and at times, stall upside down but they could have done something with the straightaway portion other than have it be a straightaway. V2 question: Would the modified V2.5 be counted as a separate credit from the original V2 as it faced significant changes to basically a "New Ride"? I know Zonga was neutered but it's not drastic. If I'm not mistaken, I think PGA has a height limit as well with Sky Tower and DropZone as exceptions due to the San Jose Airport being nearby...
  5. Hey, there's someone who uses the search feature! Anyway, Happy early b-day! Oh, as you love rodents, here's a picture of my brother's rat, "Naruto" I'm a rat...here me squeak!
  6. I found this out back in like 2002 when V2 had to get neutered. It originally was 186 feet as we all know although SFMW advertised it as 150 feet.
  7. Ok...this game needs some attention. Here's a new picture to work with. The Happy-Go-Lucky World of De_Dust!
  8. Wow...it looks like someone got frustrated, took the coaster, and crumpled it up like a piece of paper...Got a name for it already: Paper Wad: The Ride! Here's my submission, inspired by the paper-wad coaster...Mine is a Vekoma, in which you actually ride the word Vekoma...gotta see for yourself! Get a profile view of my coaster to read the hidden message. Her messed up Vekoma evilness! TPR Messed up coaster contest.nltrack Ouch! Get some aspirin!
  9. I just used the pseudo grass tiles to cover up holes to make it look like nothing was ever dug out, while having a themed cavern or whatever you wanna call it. First, dig a ginormous hole, have your coaster or waterslide go into it. Theme it with whatever...Lastly, hoping your hole was deep enough, you can use the fake grass tile thingy and cover up the hole as though nothing was ever dug out while your ride actually looks like it's underground. The pseudo grass tiles are with the tunnel end-cap things.
  10. Eating rodent??? McD's Burgers as pets??? Kinda got it backwards I hope, right?
  11. You have StepMania? I use that all the time as well...but I have the PS2 USB cable thingy so I can hook up a DDR pad up to my PC or laptop.
  12. I think that catwalks could also use some tuning up as they're kinda 'flat.' Another great thing to see would be an actual reverse cable lift (using an actual cable instead of a chain...kinda odd that they call it reverse cable lift when it's a chain) This looks great so far though.
  13. I have a blank .nltrack file what will have a completed coaster sometime soon...Ok, well not really but that did sound kinda pointless. This topic could have had more to it such as what your plans were, maybe a starting picture, and asking suggestions. A one-sentence topic isn't really going to attract much users and most likely, there won't be much responses until something showing the park shows up...it's like getting a meatless burger...not tasty unless it has the meat. (Yes, I had to associate this topic with food )
  14. Try Rinkworks.com's dialectizer for a variety of 'lingos' like Elmer Fudd, H4Ck3R, Jive, Redneck, and so on...and it works further into the site than Gizoogle's translator-izzle. Try-izzlie it outizzle! http://www.rinkworks.com/dialect/
  15. Well, you can divide the GP into 2 different categories, in which one of them is acceptable (in my opinion): Those who are just casual riders that don't know the coaster lingo and stats but atleast know what the park's coasters are (meaning not making up some weird off-the-wall death machine coaster) and those who are just complete naive, meaning they think coasters are driven by motors throughout the course and will stall on a power outage or lack of common sense. Even a casual coaster rider should have some kind of common sense whether the coaster inverts or not (if it's not an indoor coaster they never rode) or know that a coaster relies on gravity and is only affected by brakes, launches, or lifts.
  16. When I saw Update I thought he was meaning Update on park's current status. Oh well.
  17. Scariest ride was probably my friend driving doing the whole "Needle Threading" thingy. Actually, the scariest ride I've been on was this: I've never ridden Thrillshot with the OTSRs but I'm sure it wouldn't have been as great as it was this way.
  18. We forgot the classic: "If the power goes out, can't we get stuck upside down on the coaster?"
  19. The things that annoy me are when someone says "Hey, have you been on that coaster at SFMW that launches up the hill at 100 mph and spirals down while going upside down?" (No such possibility...too painful and doesn't exist) or things like "Does this go upside down?" C'mon now...the coaster's right in front of them, they're looking at the darn thing...are they that naive?
  20. Nor Cal has had the wind, heavy rain, and cold as well. Snow levels are supposed to drop and we had high surf advisories of 15-20 feet...won't affect me though as I don't live on the ocean and I"m not crazy to visit the beach this time of year.
  21. I'll sign up and we'll see what I can do...not sure if I'll actually get a coaster in but it's always worth a shot.
  22. Never rode Vortex but I hear it's rough for a B&M but I did ride Riddler's Revenge. I like the feeling that you gained an additional 300 pounds or so when going through the inversions...I even saw an empty waterbottle stay on the train the whole entire ride with the exception that it rolled back & forth on the first drop.
  23. Boomerangs do that as well on the second lift...horrible 'snap-back.' Shouldn't this have been in the Roller Coaster section?
  24. Well, I would have to go with the fact that it's the rider's fault. Yes, the manufacurers can have an occasional "fatty" seat but that's leaving an empty seat when you have a trainload of the rest of the non-obese riders, resulting to less riders per hour. If the manufacturer made things to hold larger riders, then the rest of us who are within a healthy weight won't be able to ride as we'll be too small. So when it comes down to it, the rider needs to motivate themselves to lose weight. They know where the gym is and how to make healthy choices.
  25. Lol...I remember that project...Do you have any drawings to kinda work out your idea? Maybe you should re-create your backyard/terrain/property lines and height limit on NL and generate your coaster idea from there.
