  1. Took a trip to Dorney Park Saturday, and got a good bit done before the heavy rain came. Pretty much just a coaster trip for me. Got there right around opening time (11am). Didn't seem very busy, though there was rain in the immediate forecast and it seem to be sprinkling all morning off and on (I will get to that later). As I was walking in, I saw Talon stuck at the top of the lift hill. So with that, I just decided to head to the back of the park. Rode Steel Force twice (last car, middle row). From there, got a ride on Possessed (last row). Rode Steel Force again (third car, middle row). From there I made my way back to the front of the park. Rode Hydra twice (once in the front row, the other in the last row). After that was two rides on Talon (once in front row, and the other in the last row). From there, it was back to the back of the park. Rode Thunderhawk (can't remember which seat). Then another two rides on Steel Force (last car middle row, and second car front row). Then the rain came heavy. All the coasters stopped due to the rain I believe, but it seemed only for a bit until the very heavy rain subsided. Made my way back to the front of the park and rode Talon again (front row). Then I left around 3 (had a descent drive and weather did not look great. All in all, the coaster selection isn't all that bad. Like someone else on hear had talked about, a GCI woodie would fit in nice here. Or maybe an attention getter, like a Maverick (but that I am sure is not in the future). As far as the specific coasters go, Steel Force and Talon were by far my favorites. The last car, second row is a great seat on SF. And of course Talon is a nice B&M invert. Hydra seemed just OK to me. The barrel roll out of the station is just meh for me. The train also seemed to have a bit of a vibration at times. I noticed it riding in the last row near the end of the ride. Don't know if it is always like that, or the lack of riders contributed to it (only about 12 people on the ride at the time). Possessed was OK. Have ridden Wicked Twister, so I was pretty much used to it. However, seemed to like the straight tower sitting in the back more than the usual twist on WT. On the contrary, it had a brake pause at the top of the tower on the last forward fall, which resulted in some restraint tightness in the wrong area. Thunderhawk seemed to be a little too rough for my liken. Plus it was a little too rough. As for the last rollercoaster, Stinger, it was closed all day. Have no idea why. As for the park, they did have a nice selection of flat rides. Could not really think of another addition, other than an awesome Disk-O. All in all it was a good trip. Don't know if I will ever go back having Hershey a little closer, but it was a park I wanted to get off the coaster bucket list. BTW, getting hit by sprinkling rain on SF hurts just a bit. Pins and needles kinda hurt. Also, the front seat on Talon hurts in the rain as well.
  2. Talon at Dorney Park on Saturday.
  3. Either Apollo's Chariot or Alpengeist...probably Apollo's Chariot.
  4. Sorry to hear about the Cast Member lying. That actually happened to my wife and I during the Halloween Party. My wife and I dressed up as Flynn and Rapunzel. We asked a CM where "Flynn" and "Rapunzel" were, and they proceeded to tell us that they were not in the park that night. We were hoping they were for my daughter who was also along. Needless to say, my daughter went back to the room early with my parents, and we stumbled onto Flynn and Rapunzel up front in the Theatre with the other princes and princesses.
  5. Thanks...like I said, was debating between Hershey and Dorney. But I have never been to Dorney, and was going to go to get the credits...been to Hershey pretty much every year at least once.
  6. ^My bad. Didn't even think to look there...should have been the first place. Much appreciated.
  7. What is the park's rain policy? Was thinking of either heading there or Hershey tomorrow. Been to Hershey a bunch of times, but have never been to Dorney.
  8. Is this the one you are talking about. If so, I had/have the same one...good book. Great pick of Mean Streak if I remember correctly.
  9. I rode Mantis the year it opened. You should of saw the lines. I am sad to say I actually waited a good bit of time to ride it. It was the mid to late 90s where a B&M standup was the "thing". Now a days, I usually pass by it, since I already got the credit. Rode with my wife once. She absolutely hated it. Now if it were to go floorless, I might have to make a trip back out sometime to ride it. It would be sorta a gamechanger to that ride.
  10. I am sure someone has mentioned it before, but what is the park's policy with rain?
  11. ^Goliath is a cool name for a coaster, agreed, it is just over-used.
  12. Amen to that...rode it back in 2001 and it was really bad. On the other hand, love Raptor except for the quick jerk into the brake run. ^As for Hershey, Wildcat is one of, if not my favorite ride there. Love sitting in the last row. Out of control GCI. Might try and marathon it this weekend if I go.
  13. How busy is Dorney on Saturday this time of year?
  14. I too like that. Really adds to the whole pretty cool theming.
  15. Going possibly Saturday. How busy have they been since schools are back in session. BTW, have not checked the weather.
  16. Love some Fat Tire.
  17. Now I understand...Right...
  18. Hey look, Batman The Ride at BGW. Ninth picture from the bottom. Goes to show how early the pamphlets are made up.
  19. Wait a second...it says Holiday World is smoke free according to that banner.
  20. My dad is a big fan of that show. Pretty much every time we go, we go to Fort Wilderness for the Hoop De Do. And the food is really good.
  21. Really considering an exact trip like this all within like eight days at the beginning of operating hours next year. Was going to also stop off at Beech Bend for a very short visit between Holiday World and Dollywood. Was going to get a CF Platinum Pass to save some money, plus it includes ERT and parking.
  22. You are right, with Wildcat, now they are down to 16...HMMMMM It's because they count Pipe Scream as a coaster. Therefore, they say they have 17. I see, I guess that is one of those maybe coasters for me...seem to be on the same line as those Six Flags Super Loops.
  23. You are right, with Wildcat, now they are down to 16...HMMMMM
  24. When you get stuck on Jokers Jinx, or Nitro, or...(insert ride to be named later) HAHAHA
