  1. I believe it was the twelfth coaster at the Point (5 were built after, then Wildcat was removed-16 presently).
  2. Does anyone think relocating Mantis to Canada's Wonderland is an option at all? I'd be so upset if so the ride hurts so much I rode it two weeks ago with my partner and he hated it to I really hope we don't see Mantis show up... From what I saw on the Canada Wonderland forum, they showed a Google Earth pick of the old Skyrider site that looks a little similar to a Mantis footprint. However, I am actually pulling for a redo with new floorless trains, paint and refurb of the area. And Valleyfair and other CF parks need a coaster before CW.
  3. That name is terrible, please no. I agree. BTW, press release says they will let us know at a later date what is happening.
  4. I guess this means floorless conversion with a new theme...Rougaroo or whatever...
  5. Could be that SUPER LOOP everyone is talking about and they could name it "King James Reign of Fire". -JUST KIDDING Seriously, a Mantis redo and maybe a flat ride in the refurbed frontier section.
  6. HAHA...thankfully this is not Six Flags we are talking about.
  7. It would be awesome if B&M came back and made the "Drachen Fire" they were going to build in the first place in the old Drachen Fire area. Especially with some old school (ie. Kumba) styling and craziness. THAT WOULD BE SWEEEEEET!
  8. NIce Chance Rotor spotting. They had one at Hersheypark awhile back. Loved it. My buddy would actually crawl around upside down, and then back straight again. I believe it was removed to make room for bathrooms or Skyrush, I forget. BTW, nice trip report. Like to see all the ins and outs of a theme park.
  9. If I ever got to the point where I would consider a 325 ft 81 degree 95 mph drop "stale and overdone" and "not packing much of a punch," I would just stop riding roller coasters altogether because I clearly have become the most joyless person on the planet. AMEN to that.
  10. Is it just me or does that sort of look like a Dare Devil Dive logo in the background...
  11. I guess Dare Devil was the last, and that was like 3 years ago. Intimidator was a year earlier, but now this with the new entrance and all.
  12. And I thought our obsession with roller coasters was odd... This is spectacular... We should all go to the next roller coaster deconstruction and do this... Unless it's a SLC... Now I know why our power company trims trees, rather than cut them down.
  13. BTW, when is Cedar Point making their announcement for next year. I thought it was soon, and with Carowind's, you would think it would be the same day.
  14. Always wondered about why parks build something so similar in the same park (Leviathan & Behemoth, Intimidator & Fury325). It would just seem logical to switch it up. Then again, I am not in charge of theme park.
  15. Does look pretty cool. Probably a lot better than those Fury325 shirts will look.
  16. Wonder if it was for sale or show? Also wonder if they already switched it out?
  17. Love Raptor, but that snap turn is memorable in the worst way.
  18. Don't have time for too much, but: Hersheypark: 2015-Indoor Dark ride 2016-2017-Drop Tower or Launch Tower where Flying Falcon is
  19. HOPEFULLY NONE!!! I wouldn't count on it. They're about to get a huge shipment of free spare parts from Canada's Wonderland. That should last them quite awhile. So true...And I think another reason Shockwave has yet to go is because of its specific layout. It does not take up that much room, it is just a fairly small oval shape in a fairly small area.
  20. Kind of reminds me of the new track for another B&M sitting at the steel plant. That one is teal with a neon green on the bottom (possibly for Carowinds). Like it.
  21. Haha...that would be cool, but highly doubtful.
  22. 1999 also brought Raging Bull. It was a good year for B&M.
  23. I agree, you might hang a little against the restraint at that one time. But other than that it is a pretty smooth coaster, and is in my top 10. Also it seems that it has gotten a little quicker with age.
  24. Dunkin Donuts usually have discount vouchers for Hersheypark. I forget for how much of a discount though. My wife has a coworker that sells discount tickets for her kid, that is sometimes what me buy.
