  1. Sorry, tone wasn't mean to degrade the Giant Frisbee, just wondering if people would rather have a coaster or a flat ride that is about as good or maybe a bit better. I'll take the coaster, and I'm sure Brian Morrow and friends will give it a pretty solid theme-up in the end. Side note...this is literally the biggest information leak I've EVER seen for a new ride. Not only the ride, or the blueprints, but literally everything down to the Height requirement sign has been leaked. How the hell. Seems fishy
  2. Would the group here be happier if it was a Huss Giant Frisbee? Again, It could be a Boomerang or a Giant Disko and not a certified quality coaster for the lineup.
  3. If I could ask for anything at Busch Gardens Tampa...It would be the gradual relocation and elimination of the central employee backstage area, filling in the space with Animal exhibits, future rides, and re purposing at least one building into a dark ride and maybe an indoor "African bazaar" I personally think BGT and BGW are the crown Jewels of the modern American regional park, but the awkward layout of BGT is something I notice every time I'm there. And if that ain't happening in a million years...One Interactive Dark Ride please.
  4. You're the WORST. If true, I think this addition fits in Well to the BGE collection. Nice colors, and way way way better than a Boomerang or another Kiddie. If this was the footprint they were looking at, I think the only coaster that could even top this ride would be a Zacspin. I really hope for the dual loading station though for capacity's sake.
  5. Hello There! I live in Orlando for two+ years now, if you have any questions. Here is a great site for getting honest advice about Orlando, just use the search function. And here's my opinions on living here. http://www.reddit.com/r/orlando Orlando Positives: -Warm or hot for 10 months of the year -Close to Beaches -Lakes, water, river, springs EVERYWHERE. -Unbeatable Local Theme Park Quality -No Income Tax -Always, ALWAYS events going on. In every category and all the time. Endless entertainment. Fringe Festival, Broadway, Fireworks, Movies, Music, Bars... -A team or three in Every Sports league within easy driving distance -Flying is cheap -Rent/housing cost is the absolute biggest positive difference compared to California. Mixed Things about Orlando: -No one is from here. Bizzare culture clashes, bizzare crazy people and crime happening in places, every type of food is available, Politics are extremely complicated, Every culture is represented in some small way somewhere. -This also means a lack of distinct culture. Don't expect much "hometown pride" like in some places. And lots of tacky touristy suburban stuff. Very few neighborhoods in Orlando seem to date more than 30 years old. -Tolerance amongst locals is generally very high, but can sometimes, like with the politics, be extremely complicated. -Food Prices and quality are such a mixed bag. "Local Joints" are a different animal here than in most cities, mostly because Orlando doesn't have distinct food items it's known for. -It's Flat. Really really flat. I personally miss Elevation changes. Negatives about Orlando: -Humidity is pretty unbearable. Expect to sweat profusely all the time doing anything outdoors. -Driving is super spread out in the city and extends the distance on any trip. Orlando is legitimately an hour+ wide by highways. Traffic is not the worst but is certainly not fun. Toll roads are literally the only way to get to some places. And also, people are TERRIBLE drivers here. Lost Tourists+Internationals+Sizable Elderly population are contributing factors. -Isolated from the rest of the country. Driving distances can be challenging. -There is NO Walking and CRAP public transport. -A large portion of the population is minimum wage.
  6. Just Rode Intimidator for the first time last week! I was scared to hell that it was going to be closed for Thunderstorms when I got to the park, but it turned out NO one was there and even with one train I got 14 night rides. It cracked my top five into the number 4 slot behind Voyage, MForce, and Goliath Walibi. Such an intense beast and would be unquestionably in the two spot without the OTSRs and the mega trim near the end of the ride. KD has a massively good steel coaster collection with I305, Volcano, FOF, BExpress, Dominator, Shockwave, Anaconda and Avalanche. Lots of variety and world class stuff there.
  7. ^It's because no one has been there. The nearest real rollercoaster to Lagoon is Glenwood Caverns, 300 miles away, and then Denver which is 400 miles away. You basically have to make a special trip just to Salt Lake City to visit the park. There's a reason people are more excited about Holiday World's Wing Coaster than Lagoon's Potential 200 foot themed wonderbeast, and it's because of the reach ability of HW.
  8. My List, In order of would be most excited to be there: 1. Mindbender Edmonton Mall 2. Alton Towers 3. Blackpool Pleasure Beach 4. Anything in China 5. Real Oktoberfest 6. Liseberg or Grona Lund 7. Knoebel's 8. Tokyo Disney 9. Shanghai Disney 10. Mexico City Parks Canada's Wonderland Anything in Socal Single Rides in some order 1. Mindbender Edmonton Mall 2. Bizarro SFNE 3. Expedition GeForce Indiana Jones Disneyland The Blue Flash LoCoSuMo Nemesis/The Smiler Medusa In Mexico or the Colossus Redo at SFMM Formula Rossa Pooh's Hunny Hunt Tokyo Coney Island Cyclone That ridiculous looking ultra twister at Rusutsu Resort Steel Dragon 2000 The Rapids at original Schlitterbahn
  9. Just so everyone is aware, the Lockers for Great Nor'Easter are free for 30 minutes but you have to swipe a credit card in advance to open one. I went to Wildwood on a road trip for the great annual Beach Ultimate Tournament, and caught the rides while I was there. Positives: -The Great White surpassed expectations. GLASS smooth, no real airtime but a nice layout and a fantastic view. -Better Flats than the other Shore Parks. -The suprise hit of the trip, the Flitzer. If I owned a park, I would snap one of these up as my kids coaster in a heartbeat. Much better than a Wacky Worm/Rollerskater/Wisdom coaster or any other and I bet with the age they are cheaper to acquire. -The Ghost ship was waaaaaaaay longer than I was expecting, and I also liked the "Childbirth simulation" portion. LOL -The Pirates Ride: Watch The Tram Car Please -Any and all Boardwalk Pizza. I tried Sam's, Joe's, and Mack's. -What a huge and amazing beach. A sight to see for sure. -WAWA A few Negatives: -The Vekomas were both Awful. Thank god for the restraint change at Nor'Easter. -Also, the Mouse and Rollies Coaster were meh. So the coaster collection as a whole is really unremarkable. -55 Bucks or 9 dollars for a single coaster ride...I understand it's not really a ripoff for the shore but when Morey's is more expensive than SFGADV I know where I'm more likely to pay again. -The distance between piers became annoying when Doo Whopper opened late, Ghost Ship opened at 5, and Great White was the only coaster worth rerides. Overall I would be likely to return to Wildwood for the Frisbee, but only go on the rides if there was a new credit.
  10. Lol, I was there on the same night, playing in the Ultimate Frisbee beach tournament. Great White was possibly the smoothest wooden coaster I've ever ridden!
  11. The Wacky Worm of Trimper's Amusements. At the end of a six part NJ/DE/MD 13 credit 2 Bill Tracy Haunted house day. Which included three wacky worms, but not the one at Baja Amusements due to time constraints. Afterwards, I slept in the car and drove 14 hours today woohoo.
  12. The Beast again: It was rough enough at some point in the ride that I smashed my elbow on the side of the car and it actually cut open and started bleeding, which was a damn good reason to rank the ride dead last in my wooden rankings. Kawasemi: I tend to enjoy really really big and really really fast coasters (My top ten is basically all hypers and launchers), and this ride is neither. It's pretty fun but I think something like the near-forceless Apollo's Chariot has cooler views, scenery and speed.
  13. Any station where the exit is a series of long, unavoidable ramps is unfortunate. I'll throw the Great White at Morey's on this list, as you enter next to the front row which creates a mess of people in no particular order waiting for that front row.
  14. #1 Wacky Worm, Lake Winnie #100 Steel Force #200 Something in Korea, but I don't remember #250 The Great Nor'Easter just yesterday!
  15. Holiday World is the enthusiast's dream come true. A company that actively does everything they can with every ounce of money they have to create something new, practical, and exciting every year. They care SO much about their park and making the best possible time for everyone who goes there. The backstory and campaign for this ride is so much more impressive than what places with 20 times the budget put together, and I'm so excited to go back there soon.
  16. Segregated Kiddie areas... Bingo! Every Six Flags park would probably benefit long term if you just deleted their worst coaster and replaced its operating budget with a quality flat ride and employee training.
  17. So random surprise trip, I'll be going to BGW for the first time on Thursday. Two questions: 1.Being Insane I'm planning to do BGW and then a twilight admission at Kings Dominion arriving around 6PM (leave BGT between 4:30-5) just to get the Backlot Express and Intimigreatness credits I don't have (and hopefully Volcano/FOF/Anaconda/Avalanche). Quick Queue level one looks very doable at only 20 bucks, but should I expect walk on morning waits on a potential afternoon-storm day? 2. What is the absolute best thing to eat at BGW? One unique thing? What is the highest quality show, if I have time?
  18. I don't understand what Six Flags is going for. -Worst customer service in the business. -Highest Parking Fees by far. -Higher than average food prices. Miserable food quality across the board. -Ignoring families and family attractions for the last two decades. -At least half of the parks have horrible ride operations. -Abysmal Locker Policies. -Penny squeezing gimmicks that other parks don't necessarily use, like tube rentals. -Cheap advertising gimmicks everywhere. Like, setting a global standard for as bad and cheap as advertising gimmicks can possibly get. Do they expect good things to happen with all of those things in tandem?
  19. Put me in the "Gwazi is cooked" camp. One side is completely closed, efforts to save the coaster with new trains were mixed, and it's still a terrible design for a ride that is quite rough even with new trains. And the way it's been managed doesn't indicate that the park is happy with what they have there.
  20. Hirakata seems the oddball on the list. Nothing really notable there and it's a ways south of the other parks. From reviews only, it seems both USJ and Parque Espana would be more worthy choices. Or Nasu highland to the north of Tokyo for credits.
  21. Intamin's safety record is really rough in comparison to other manufacturers. Here's their wikipedia just to start. I love intamin coasters and have several of them in my top 20 rollercoasters, but if I were running a park I would really try to look elsewhere. -Maverick's Heartline Roll -All the other Intamin-Cedar Point opening year major mechanical issues -I305's first turn and other delays. -Falcon's Fury Delays -Pilgrim's Plunge -Perilous Plunge -Oakwood's Hydro -Several Cable snap delays including the Xcelerator, SFKK incidents. -Repeated Restraint Failures. This is a big one IMO. -Noticeably high downtime rates for most of their attractions. That said, whenever other manufacturers have gone as big as Intamin, often it turns out just as mechanically challenged...Rip Ride Rockit, Steel Dragon, Vekoma GIB's, S&S air launchers, Some Premier Coasters, etc. But for Intamin it's a common thread.
  22. According to Screamscape, the park is experiencing normal opening delays and they are smartly going with Waterpark first, with dry park to open in 2016.
  23. Holy Crap! At least the kid's sprite was only 3.50!
  24. That's so strange to have built a second safari ride like that. I kind of love it.
  25. The Richest List, to save people time... 1. Expedition Everest $100 million 2. Steel Dragon 200 $52 million 3. Thunder Dolphin $37 million 4. The Smiler $30 million 5. Leviathan $28 million 6. Kingda Ka $25 million 7. Millenium Force $25 million 8. Top Thrill Dragster $25 million 9. I305 $25 million 10. The Storm (Aus) $20 million I would have to think several Disney and Universal coasters would be ahead of the storm on this list, as well as Formula Rossa, Skyrush, Shambhala, the other B&M hypers...others.
