  1. Two used coasters, one of which doesn't work, an old first gen drop tower, and some waterslides. I believe people with Dorney as a home park are well within their rights to feel slighted. Two unique Inverted coasters, the most unnerving drop ride ever created, and an expanded waterpark, while also being a single-day trip of Knoebels, Hershey, Great Adventure, Six Flags America, the entire Jersey Shore, and Coney Island. People can stop being ungrateful and childish now, thanks.
  2. Everything is so much better in the midwest. Or...their results are just skewed by the large number of voters who live there.
  3. Anyone have the real reasons why the voters vote the way they do in some places? They are all over the map (except overseas of course). Flying Turns is a pretty blah ride experience for all that was done for it, so I wouldn't quite reward that. Seven Dwarves has some great features and a eyegasmic (short) animatronic section but the ride itself is weaker than most rollerskaters. Gringott's could've won, though it's not the best ride at the resort even when the effects work. Goliath could've won but maybe not as good of a ride as the other RMCs. Banshee obviously didn't deserve to win, a weaker coaster by that manufacturer than rides built 20 years ago. Arthur was never going to win since it's in another country, though it seems to have been enough to push Europa over the top and finally knock out CP. My vote would have gone to Lightning Run, an amazing, really cheap, revitalizing coaster for that park. It hits on all levels and deserves recognition.
  4. Newsflash, the West has gigantic stretches of nothingness. Most of it pretty, West Texas....UGH
  5. I go very hard on any trip I go solo: -I took 6 different trains and Slept 4 hours at a bus stop bench in order to make Heide Park to Walibi Holland an overnight train ride. -Last month I went to BGW and KD in the same day, and also did a day where I hit all the credits in Ocean City NJ, Atlantic City NJ, Rehoboth Beach Delaware, and Ocean City Maryland in 12 hours in that order. That said...I definitely agree with what others are saying that your trip sounds pretty high energy, more of a run than a relaxing vacation, and you need to make sure to OK with your friends to drive that much and snooze in the car. You can absolutely do it, but it could be draining and even impossible for the wrong group. This trip has some time constraints in places that limit to just the coasters. Qbots and Fastlane would help. The Dollywood day looks tough since your total time in that park is clearly going to be limited to like 9-3 or something less so you can get to KK in time to credit run that. 6 hours at DW is enough time for the coasters but not all of the Dolly Museum, the 4 big water rides, a show, cinnamon bread, lunch, Skyswing, Train ride, etc. The Kings Island Day leaves you without Beast Night rides, a bummer, but CP is for sure a FULL day getting there at opening with Fastlane. And also, BGW is absent from the list if you haven't been.
  6. The Lagoon and Hansa Projects are so ridiculously similar, to be building both in the same year by totally different groups.
  7. I can confirm that in May 2014, Lebron James was perfectly healthy and playing in Miami. If you need any more info, let me know. I've been wrecked! 2015 I should say. Dude is gonna be 30 this season coming off of 8 plus years of deep playoff runs and carrying teams.
  8. Does it come with a cone of cholesterol-lowering drugs? Good thing Disney doesn't do a lot of thrill rides. Imagine going on the Rockin' Rollercoaster after eating one of THOSE bad boys! I counter that Bread Cone with an image of Taco Bell's new breakfast menu.
  9. The two weeks in November between Halloween and Thanksgiving week are the deadest of the dead of the dead weeks on the schedule (except at Epcot, where Food and Wine goes from "Busy, hot, and 5 rows deep around the lagoon for Illuminations" to "Even better weather and normal crowds"). I would recommend that time over January, especially since, as OrlandoGuy noted, the water rides are closed in January since it is colder. Universal will probably not be refurbing anything and I myself am banking on wait times for Gringott's diving down to a regular 20-30 minutes.
  10. They should do the King James naming a coaster for a day thing before this season, while the hype is at its highest. Who knows, maybe by May 2014 James got hurt or something during the season and the Cavs are mediocre.
  11. Mean Streak for sure. Especially since its days as it is are probably numbered. Intamin's skinny rubber restraints are a minor plague on otherwise flawless coasters across the world, but they wouldn't be that noticeable anyway if the forces weren't so strong and awesome on those coasters. I305 gave me two sore shoulders for a few days, but did that really kill the enjoyment of it? No.
  12. Cedar Point is the most closely watched regional park in America and the one that people drive 16 hours to go visit. For once, I think the general public will be aware that it's the same ride.
  13. This is going to be more than "Floorless trains, Repaint, New Name." That really isn't going to sell big to us or the public, and more importantly...Matt Ouimet is in charge.
  14. Oh yeah. You have to remember that El Toro was new the same year that The Voyage was new. People saw 6,400 vs 4,400 and wondered about the total length of the ride, espcially when El Toro was taller and faster. What's funny is...I absolutely think Toro is short. There are five ejector hills. All five are gonzo-insane, but there are five. The coasters I have above Toro, T Express and Voyage, each have like...15 ejector hills? I don't even think they're in the same category as Toro.
  15. If Mantis at Cedar Point goes Floorless that will be the most Coaster-Enthusiast-Fanboy thing that has ever happened.
  16. Anyone know any technical hurdles as far as track gauge or station design involving their floorless trains? I'm sure it can be done, but this would be their first conversion to "normal sized" floorless. While they're changing the ride, remove the first drop trim plz. And someone had the idea to enclose half the ride...yes to that too, rename it "Dispatch Master Transport to Alaska."
  17. Yessir! Looks like another nice, smaller, thrilling german coaster.
  18. Hmm...I think there's an ice cream and soda stand at that spot right now...and it says it's a "Hut." With the pool expansion 4 years away I still wouldn't rule out the lake, but that is interesting. Also...EMPANADAS Yummmmmmm.
  19. Is It...Abismo at Parque de Atracciones?
  20. ^A bigger Elephant, Apparently. Better animal Interactions than Animal Kingdom, save Kilamanjaro Safari vs. Busch's Train ride.
  21. The nice thing about the dueling is that it will probably always be available for enthusiast events. There will have to be a computer system on the ride's lift hills to speed up or slow down for the dueling to ever work, so I don't see a situation where the option is not there, unless they go all Dueling Dragons and use the system against itself.
  22. Mindbender at Edmonton Mall makes me all squishy and melty. (Lisebergbanan, Montana Infinitum, Olympia Looping are runners up).
  23. Ooh here's my list as it currently stands. Haven't been on a few in too long though: 1. W Voyage 2. S Millennium Force 3. S Goliath (Walibi) 4. S I305 5. S SROS (SFA) 6. S Nitro 7. S Maverick 8. W T Express 9. S Top Thrill Dragster 10. W Lightning Racer 11. W El Toro 12. S Goliath (SFOG) 13. W Colossus (Heide) 14. S Kumba 15. S Magnum XL 16. W Son Of Beast 17. W Thunder Run 18. W Rampage 19. W Raven 20. W Thunderhead
