  1. I'm rooting for WCB to both happen, and to be one weekend later next year. I'm absolutely doing a trip to Cali next year now that I can get free tickets to those parks and Disney has both Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain closed right around now for their holiday changeovers. But I hear there is also a TPR tour to Cali next year so maybe WCB is combined with that or who knows.
  2. There are so many rumors with BGT with no basis. I've heard Formula Rossa redux, Hyper, Gwazi refurb, Gwazi tear down... The only thing I haven't heard is what the park needs most, which is an indoor, out of the heat, weather-proof dark attraction. That or an improvement to the layout that isn't one huge circle.
  3. I think the "Coaster" advertising is perfect and fits in with the theme of what Six Flags looks to do with their marketing and presentation.
  4. In and Out is roughly half the price of Five Guys for a burger that is on par. The ingredients are notably fresh, and the fries are very unique, well cooked, and consistent compared to other chains. Service there is also top notch. For price vs. other chains In and Out is a HUGE winner, and their entire menu easily outclasses ubiquitous options like BK, Mcdonalds, White Castle, Carl's Jr, and Wendy's. Hype deserved, though if I lived in Cali I'd probably be long over "it". On topic, Twisted Colossus>Wicked Cyclone because it is both unique and thrilling for GP and enthusiasts. Hits on all levels.
  5. Just rode Falcon's Fury yesterday. The gimmick totally works and if I hadn't been on so many drop towers it would have ruined me. The drop itself is about the same power as the other Intamin roto-drops and if you didn't flip back to normal position so far from the ground this ride would absolutely devastate people as the first two seconds really looks like you're going to faceplant into oblivion. My favorite part was the insanely delicious new pretzel stand.
  6. Glad to see new flats for a Six Flags park, here's hoping the overcrowded waterpark absorbs even more guests and lines in 2016. At SFOG almost every coaster is a great example of it's genre which has the collection really rounded. I would far rather see them put in a top ten coaster someday than spend good money on a small coaster or gimmick.
  7. I think the ride looks roughly like SFGAM's Goliath in length and some elements, except you go around twice, and it might DUEL on you. Holy balls.
  8. What would really be great for this ride would be a system like what Morey's piers uses. Free single use lockkers at the entrance and absolutely no loose articles allowed. Metal detector wands to catch all cell phones. This would make the loading process quicker and eliminate flying object dangers. However, with six flags standard policy, I know that option is a pipe dream (but maybe someone is reading. )
  9. Is there a way to revoke someone's enthusiast license? Lol. Alan Schilke and his team are giving us everything we could ever want in a dueling Woodie layout and I am going bananas for this ride. Hands down the most exciting announcement since I305 or maybe Voyage.
  10. OH MY GOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!! This is a coaster I've been waiting for for 15 years. I have not even one minor complaint and magic mountain is now my number one priority in the world. I cannot believe those upside down dueling elements are going to exist.
  11. I would love for someone, someday, to divulge all the details about how the Dueling Dragons concept ended up at IOA instead of DAK, and what the discussions were on who was going to manufacture what and when.
  12. This ride and Lagoon have this direct competition going on in my head...200 foot+, total mysteries as far as elements and design, both will have distinct indoor features, and I can't wait until more is revealed!
  13. Don't forget a few "mounds of dirt" pictures of next year's Dive coaster for us to salivate over.
  14. Even the higher end apartments over by millenia have some interesting characters about them. I have a friend whose apartment complex is gated, has a full gym/Raqcuetball complex, 5 pools, and a restaurant right off Americana avenue, but still there were impacts from the area around it/Section 8 and walking outside the complex would be a midday only type of thing. And if you ever want to go out of this mysterious Orlando bubble, aka the tourism areas, every mile north and closer to I4 is good. Dr. Phillips is kind of a sweet spot, and Sand Lake road is a lifeblood of restaurants and shopping. I live literally right behind universal now, and downtown Orlando is about 20-25 minutes. I used to live directly behind MK, and everything other than Disney itself was a massive pain to get to.
  15. My #1 pet peeve is people who cannot account for others in space around them. Reversing directions without looking, stopping in the middle of the walkways instead of the side, blocking the entrance to a ride with their greeter questions, swinging their backpacks wildly, taking up extra space on stadium bleachers, lengthening food lines because they can't anticipate the next step in the process, going through a walkthrough attraction at half-speed...the list goes on. Hundreds of interactions per day with these people is why some parks feel so crowded, sometimes not for space or capacity. Just look at Japan.
  16. The Larson Ring of Fire rides are one of my carnival favorites with those big ole' cushy lap bars. But if these are even as good as the looping Starship then that works. Another flat ride is good for the park and it largely replaces wheelie. I only have two hopes: 1. Don't bulldoze all the trees and shade around Acrophobia/Mine Train for this ride. 2. Puhleeeze don't market this as a "new coaster". Give us a break.
  17. Guys, it's confirmed. The full blueprints, the full theming package, and track on site=confirmed. Also, the arcade is staying, according to those blueprints.
  18. Thanks for the excellent report. Lakeside looks a little more run down than I was thinking. Hope I end up in Denver for an Elitch's/Lakeside combo day sometime.
  19. I've never even had an I305 op let me re-ride with an empty station. I've gotten it once or twice, but even when it did happen, they wouldn't let me ride more than twice in a row without getting up and going back around. And Maverick needs the i305 restraints! I don't get why they haven't installed them! Its probably just cuz of CF's relationship with intamin. But even so, that ride with those restraints is not a good combo. Really? I've been able to get 4 rides in a row with out going around, one in the front row, 5th row, 10th row, and last row without going around. I had the opportunity for a 5th ride but decided to go meet up with some friends. A month ago I rode I305 7 straight times in back seat left before someone got in line for that row and I actually had to move. Also, the restraints at 305 felt like I'd been thru-hiking for a week after 20 rides.
  20. Trust me, 99 percent of all the people who ride this coaster will declare it the best ride they've ever been on, and a fair number of enthusiasts will too. And again, I think everything about this ride looks at least as good or better than Millenium Force. What an exciting time that it looks like coasters that go faster than highway speed will be built regularly.
  21. "The view of Six Flags over Georgia is pretty chaotic, especially when you're 70 feet above the ground and looking straight down." That's the audio from the teaser clip. They are standing on a cherry-picker on the midway right between acrophobia and the mine train. There are actually some Euro-Fighters at that exact height, as well as an Intamin half-pipe at MOA. The El Loco coasters are all taller than that, so I'm kind of thinking this isn't a coaster.
  22. I just noticed in the first teaser video they are doing big circles with their fingers over the paper, and their second teaser video was just released on Facebook saying that the ride will be 70 feet tall and straight down. Therefore, i'm going with Aqualoops.

If I was traveling solo, willing to spend any amount of money, and my only plan at Great Adventure was to do 2 rides on El Toro and 1 on Dark Knight, eating only quick and cheap, and with no traffic considerations (only drive times@7MPH over the limit on the toll roads) it would probably be possible to hit: Great Adventure 2 credits (between 8:55 AM and 10:15AM) Funplex : 1 credits (Around 11:10 AM) Clementon: 1 credits (Around Noon) Jenkinson's: 2 credits (Between 1:50-2:10PM) Casino Pier: 2 credits (Around 2:45 PM) Steel Pier: 2 credits (Around 4:15 PM) Ocean City, NJ: 5 Credits (Around 5:15 PM) Morey's : 6 credits (Between 7:00 PM and 12:30 AM) In a single day. Not that I'm obsessive or anything. In reality, the only pier park that might be worth leaving Great Adventure for would be Morey's, but only because it has the most stuff. Otherwise these parks are easy to credit whore, nothing much to them. Clementon is one rough woodie vs Morey's which is 1 good wooden, 5 other credits and more flats and dark rides. But depending on what you want to do, traffic shouldn't be terrible on a Sunday, and the parks are easy to get in/get out if you pay for parking tolls/meters, hustle, and everything's open.
