That sucks, but at least this coaster will still have some kick-ass airtime.
^^ That kind of looks like it could be Intamin's own version of Sky Rocket II. It will be interesting to see the cost and/or if any parks will build one.
That's actually almost exactly the same model as S&S's launched El Loco. One of S&S's models will be built in New Jersey this year.
I heard Thundercoaster was actually a really good ride. Also is the roughness because of Vekoma's building style or just because of poor maintenance and age?
I like that layout a lot. It looks like Vekoma's take on an X-car. Hopefully it turns out great I really want to see more newer gen Vekomas get built around the world.
It's the same for pretty much all of Intamin's drop towers. They don't really focus on freefall as much as they do on speed. I'd take an S&S tower any day over an Intamin as you actually feel the freefall and get airtime with the drop. LL is great, but I liked Knott's tower much better.
I wouldn't get my hopes up for it running again this season. Even if it was running, the trains absolutely ruin the ride. It was running all summer and I didn't even ride it because of the horror that ensued with the horrible trains. I guess SFNE just likes adding bad trains to good rides like they did with Bizarro.
