  1. Please Please Please let the super event be during Hall-o screams! I hear Night Rides on Air Grover are the best But seriously a TPR event at BGT would be awesome! New Gwazi Trains, Cheetah Hunt, Sheikra, Kumba, sign me up!
  2. my worst ever was 3 years for Top Thrill Dragster. I was at the park opening year of the ride, and it was broken down all day, returned the next season and it was again broken down on the day of my visit, returned on the third year of operation and it was broken down again but finally began testing late in the day maybe 2 or 3 hours before park closing. We got in line to finish up watching the testing (and a few roll backs) then they slowly began cycling one train at a time with passengers. Well anyways 3 years later and about 4 hours in line (we got our ride about 1.5 hrs after park closing) I finally got my Dragster credit.
  3. I always liked Gwazi at Busch Gardens Tampa, even in its last few years with the PTC trains when quite honestly it was a pretty brutal ride. People from Florida who generally don't like wooden Roller Coasters (mostly because they haven't ridden very many, and probably never ridden a good ones) tend to dislike wooden coaster because of Gwazi but I always thought it was a pretty good ride. Hopefully those Millennium Flyers have changed some peoples opinions of the thing.
  4. The light package on Windseeker looks amazing, I never saw that mentioned in any of the press release materials but it looks pretty cool. I love Kings Island but that place always seems to consistently have the weirdest mix of guests of any park I can think of. From nazi tattoos, to John Cena wanna-bes, and probably more Acer's on a daily basis than any other park in the country. Gotta love Ohio (and by love I mean secretly despise).
  5. So this thing has a launch and a vertical lift with beyond vertical drop? Awesome stuff, I wonder what come first the launch or the lift. You would think the lift hill would be the natural thing to start a ride with, but I kind like rides with midcourse lift hills before the ending (Mystery Mine, the Beast, some mine trains. But then again I really liked the mid course launch on Maverick, felt like that was one of the better coasters Ive been on in a while mostly because of the mid course launch, very unexpected and awesome.
  6. If that one was the largest, what currently is the largest hidden Mickey? Maybe the lake inside the speedway? (although its really not that well "hidden")
  7. I personally do not know, but why were you starting a new topic on this subject? Anything related to Harry Potter, should be posted in this thread, no need to start a new one. Perhaps, it wasn't deleted and just merged into this one? I absolutely loved everything about Lost Continent from the beginning, but understand why they axed half of it to develop Potterverse. As much as I would hate to see the rest of it go it would be really cool to see Universal Creative try develop a Potter Based attraction to use the existing Poseidon's Fury concept. Ya know a hidden passage way behind a book shelve that leads to a secret wherever and whatnot with a tour guide from Hogwarts or the Ministry of magic or something, maybe have some kind of Wizard duel in the main room that re-uses some of the same technology (I don't know enough about the books so suggest an actual plot for a replacement I just know that something could probably work there, and work really well) . Maybe even J.K. Rowling could help to develop some type of new story from the Potter world that necessarily isn't in the books or movies but could be used to fit the existing setup of that attraction. The Sinbad stunt show in my opinion is just okay, probably really helps park capacity on busy days but that area could probably easily be recycled into a new show/ride building of some sort. I know we all love Mythos and it would probably be the hardest thing to see go, but oh well you can have everything I guess, maybe an interactive re-themed Potter full service restaurant could work there. besides I think everyone agrees Mythos isn't quite what it used to be, but still pretty good. Ill give Universal credit, unlike Disney, they're not afraid to completely gut or remove a somewhat classic but outdated attraction for something new (i.e. King King, Back to the Future, soon to be Jimmy neutron, Dueling Dragons, E.T. in Hollywood). There are a lot of Attractions at Disney that are "Classic" but I could care less if they were gutted and removed or completely reinvented (jungle cruise, great movie ride, small world, Universe of Energy, Star Tours).
  8. I may have missed it if it was mentioned but were the trainers in the water with the whales at any point in the show or is that still on hold? I wonder if they have plans to re introduce the trainers in the show at some point or another in the future. Looks like those new fountains really soak the splash section and of course Tilly still soaks everyone. The one thing that I always disliked about the old show was how much the whales splash the splash zone. Its cool in June/July/August but on a cold day in December or January I wish they could just do more flip tricks instead or something. But nice report , really looking forward to seeing the new show.
  9. Son of Beast Mean Streak Limit Time Warp Manhattan Express Park name: Captain Spauldings's House of Pain
  10. I heard Waffle House added this a new topping for their famous Hashbrowns, smothered covered chuncked peppered and hymend. On a unrelated note if you type "waffle house hash browns" into a Google image search, a picture of Robb wielding a spoon ready to devour hymen covered hash browns will appear, no joke. http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&biw=1280&bih=653&gbv=2&tbm=isch&aq=f&aqi=g2&oq=&q=waffle%20house%20hash%20browns
  11. I guess I'm the only one who doesn't particularly care for the look of the Timerliners. I'm sure they'll ride smooth and wonderful but I just really don't like the look of these things on more of a "classic style" wooden roller coaster. I think they look like a steel coaster train instead of a classic wood coaster train, call me crazy but thats what I think. Kinda the same way I think the trains on Sky Rocket at Kennywood look like wooden coaster trains instead of trains for a LIM launch steel coaster. Oh well, hope the ride rocks, cause it does look really fun.
  12. I had a feeling that the ride experience on this would be pretty "meh". The theming looks incredible and Im sure adds a lot to the attraction's overall appeal but the layout looked pretty boring to me from the get go. Most of the recent 200+ foot tall B&M's have been "meh" so one that is barley over 100 feet I didn't think had much of a chance. Still think it looks like a fun ride and a great addition, just not like something that is going to be a top 5 coaster on the list of any real coater enthusiasts. On a side note I think a highly themed, high capacity, with a fairly gentle layout, and very reliable steel coaster like this from B&M could fit in really well at a Disney park if utilized properly. Theme the trains differently and use some more of the really cool theming and it could really work at say I don't know on of their parks that has a lot of space and could really use a few more signature attractions cough cough Animal Kingdom cough cough. Theme it to a Dragon or a bird or a flying dinosaur or a freaking hippo on acid for all I care. This would be cool at Animal Kingdom.
  13. Ive spent a little bit of time in San Antonio and totally agree with this, the River Walk is a really amazing place. I also really enjoyed visiting the Alamo. I know the historical stuff isn't for everyone but the Alamo is fairly reasonably priced attraction and it has a lot of great information and displays and videos on the battle that took pace there and all. The Alamo is also within walking distance from the River Walk so its pretty easy to get to even if to just look at it from the outside and grab a few pictures. Right across from the Alamo is the Menger Hotel which is another really cool historical building where I believe there is a bar there with a bullet hole in the wall that was shot by Teddy Roosevelt while he was hanging out there recruiting members for his Rough Riders. Its supposed to be one of the haunted places in Texas. I don't remember any restaurants specifically but don't remember anything I had on the River Walk being too far below average. Also right across the street from the Alamo is a Ripley's Believe it or not if you like that kind of stuff. There used to be a Sally Dark ride in the same vicinity that I never rode but I know it used to be there. I really love San Antonio, every trip I've taken there I always find myself wanting to spend more time then I have allotted. Really cool city, enjoy!
  14. Would it be appropriate to tailgate in the parking lot before nighttime ERT? It is the Deep South Bash, tailgating would give the event more cultural relevancy.
  15. Kumba, old school B&M, with forces, with the old B&M road, great layout, great setting, never a line, just an absolute beast.
  16. I don't really think that's the case since sheikra, manta east, jungala, aquatic, Allure, and some of the other attractions in question were all built before Blackstone took over ownership of the parks. The "new style" of design in the parks was established and executed several times while they were still owned and operated by busch. Besides I think Blackstone is more of a "owner" than an "operator" and after th purchase was made the parks more or less continued to exist and operate the same as before. So I dont really think Blackstone really had anything to do with new era of the Seaworld parks.
  17. I honesty completely forgot about this project for 2011, but it looks like its coming along pretty well and should be a great ride.
  18. I was reading that story about the lawsuit earlier and found it very interesting. I have absolutely no idea how credible the lawsuit is, and I have never heard of that company or that park for Australia, but I do find it kind of ironic how all of the recent new attractions at Busch/Seaworld parks (Jungala, Sheikra, Manta, Sesame Street, Happy Harbor, Allure, Aquatica, etc) are all kinda similar in feel and almost completely different than anything else Busch parks had produced in the recent past. I mean all of these recent installations are fantastic and on a level of creativity and detail that I personally didn't think existed at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens 10 years ago. Jungala and the Manta/commersons dolphins habitats are just completely different than any other animal enclosure they had previously at either park. I don't know, I would normally look at a story like this and immediately deem it as false but something about this feels a little weird to me. At Disney and Universal the whole place has more of a consistent feel of quality and overall theme where as in Busch gardens and Sea World you can really walk around the a park and just "feel" what is new and what is old and dated. And ironically everything that feels "new and fresh" looks like something from the drawing of that proposed park for Australia. Maybe its just a coincidence, maybe not.
  19. WOW! That thing looks absolutely amazing. I never realized the level of detail in the theming, beautiful attraction. I wonder if the restraints are any more forgiving for larger riders? B&M's are in my opinion amongst the worst restraints for larger riders, but these look like they may be a little better. Great Pictures Hanno, cant wait to see more and hear some more reviews.
  20. Wooden Wild mouse coasters look so cool, I really wish there was one of these in America. Hey Knobles when you get that flying turns thing figured out, get to work on one of these things! Please
  21. I never was a huge fan of the B&M Stand-ups with the exception of Riddler at SFMM and Georgia Scorcher was pretty decent. Chang was probably a little bit better than mantis (better layout for Chang, better setting for Mantis) but both rides made my legs hurt like hell.
  22. Both of those coasters are pretty impressive looking to me. How does Superman compare to Maverick? I loved Storm Runner and love Maverick and that thing looks like a cool mix of both (awesome launch with some great airtime).
  23. Wow this looks like a great event, I'm gonna have to see about getting a flight for this one. All of these TPR park events lately are so awesome and I cant wait to attend some!
  24. I rode the one in Jamaica last week and have some pictures and a POV I'll try to post later this week. It was a lot of fun and in a beautiful location. Pretty crazy ride too!
  25. Yeah I think the price for the attraction is more than reasonable at $5 I just seems like every past visit Ive had to Kings Island the parks attendance is made up more of younger teenage to early/mid 20's thrill ride type people and not that kind of people that would be interested in a Dinosaur walk through regardless of the admission price. Although I'm sure theres enough younger children and families (and Dinosaur enthusiasts) to justify the attraction. I still think the timing of the whole project is really weird but oh well.
