I heard an advertisement for this on the radio a few days ago and thought it sounded pretty awesome. Sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale on January 1st, its the Rock Legends cruise aboard Royal Carribean's liberty of the Seas. 4 Day cruise featuring 18 bands including ZZ Top, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, John Kay and Steppenwolf, The Marshall Tucker Band, Dickey Betts & Great Southern, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, and many more. Here's the link check it out .... http://rocklegendscruise.com/ While I'm not a huge fan of any of the bands performing (other than a little bit of ZZ Top), I could see this type of event being really cool. The type of crowd this event will attract will most likely be full of southern Redneck awesomness! Leather biker jackets in the dining room, mullets in the casino, and nasty topless chicks everywhere, it'll be the Wild Adventures of the cruise world .

I wonder if Busch Gardens is going to be able to keep using that building for a haunt location during Halloscreams (or however they spell it)? If I remember correctly the Night Shades Toy Factory haunt has been there the past 2 years but the haunt itself was on the bottom floor not the top level where the new station is going. Hope they can reuse it, I thought that was one of the better locations in the park for a haunted house, but if not Ill take the shiny new Intamin launch coater instead I guess . Also really looking forward to night rides on this thing during Halloscreams, and Halloscreams in general. Halloscreams seems like it has gotten a lot better recently, almost catching up to Horror Nights in some aspects in my opinion.

Your probably right, I remember seeing some specifications at my work about 6 months ago for some new HVAC equipment at Universal in the Spiderman Building (there were boilers that my company was looking at but there was also a good amount of other cooling equipment and pumps, piping, fans, etc.). That job could have been completely unrelated to these ride upgrades but then again it could have had everything to do with it too.

Awesome news! So glad to hear that the ride wasn't insanely rough like the new style euro fighter at Belantis. IUm really excited about riding this thing at the Deep South Bash. Not to be too bitchy but with all of the real fire elements that Six Flags has recently added to new coaster at other parks (Bizarro's, Terminator, NTAG, X2) I'm kinda surprised they didn't put the real fire effect on this thing but it looks pretty awesome regardless!

Best Miniature Golf courses
Hilltopper39 replied to Rastuso's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That would be located in Lexington, KY at the Lexington Ice Center. I played there a hundred times as a kid but honestly don't remember anything about the course other than the Mt. Sinai hole where you have to putt up into a volcano thingy. I remember it being a decent course, fun obstacles and layout, a little run down but what do you expect for a seasonal golf course in Kentucky? here's the link http://www.lexingtonicecenter.com/ -
^Thanks, has anyone ever been on a Moser drop tower before? From the sounds of things this one might be a little bit different than your regular Intamin or S&S or those crazy ARM drop tower rides. I'm glad to see Busch Gardens building a new drop tower, it doesn't seem like there have been very many new drop towers built recently.

Not that it matters nor is it relevant (and excuse me if this was a joke) but is there such a thing as -2 g's? I mean If-1g is weightless, then -2 g's wouldn't be double weightless would it? In theory anything less than gravity is less than gravity, but please correct me if i'm wrong any coaster physics nerds out there. You say its awesome but I think it still needs less restraints and more speed, and more wood. (it seriously looks awesome, I really wish i could of been there Saturday)

The Beast is a coaster that kinda fits in this category for me. I find that the Beast is a ride that a lot of people really hate because so many people really like it, it probably has more love/hate critics than any other coaster out there. For that reason Ill consider the Beast a coaster I love that I know a lot of people hate (or atleast don't really care about all that much).

There's one that is pretty easy to see inside Expedition Everest on the second lift hill. Going up the lift on the left hand side painted on the wall if I remember correctly. -
Nürburgring launched coaster
Hilltopper39 replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Should have built an Intamin...... This is kinda depressing news though, I always wanted the S&S air launched coasters to get more popular since they really do look awesome. Since Powder keg always gets such good reviews from everyone Ive always wondered why more parks didn't build more rides like it. Maybe the answer is that its a maintenance headache and not worth the investment. -
PHOTO TR: Cedarpoint opening day 2011
Hilltopper39 replied to thrillrider's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Opening Day at every park I've ever been to on their opening day is always a hit or miss. Either its gonna be just like this trip report with closed rides and long lines or there will be a really light crowd and everything is a walk on all day (Holiday World). But nice report, I used to love going to Cedar Point in May when it was foggy like this, makes for a really cool atmosphere. -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with you, even though I personally think Millennium Force is overrated by my tastes I do understand why a lot of people really love it. it's not in my personal top 10, but I think in general it is a Top 10 quality Ride. -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There always has to be one person that complains. GROW UP! Its just a poll for fun! Also those coasters are YOUR favorites...not everybody else. I think the results are pretty cool! Great job INTAMIN! You make me proud to wear my INTAMIN Lanyard every day! Sarcasm is an incredibly hard thing to convey through a message board without using the smiley face emoticons but that was what the purpose of that post was. Sarcasm because after the wood poll everyone complained and accused Robb of skewing the results so I though i would sarcastically joke about him doing the same with the steel poll. Just to clear things up those coaster are not my favorites but 3 specific examples I sarcastically used because they are 3 coasters that usually end up highly rated in every crazy AOL and AAA top 10 poll out there. Do you really wear your Intamin lanyard every day? Like to school, or to the beach, or to church, or to the mall or to the movies? Do you wear your Intamin Lanyard on a date ? Just curious, Id love to see an Coaster Engineering Expedition Photo trip report of the Adventures of your Everyday Intamin Lanyard -
Mitch Hawker 2010 poll
Hilltopper39 replied to Skycoastin Steve's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know, that Top 10 looks eerily similar to Robb's Top 10, I call foul play. I think Robb used his power and influence to manipulate the votes again, how else would The Hulk or Space Mountain or Magnum XL-200 not make the Top 10? -
That concept art looks great! ALl the reviews of 13 at Alton Towers I read were kinda meh but hopefully with a drop like that to end the ride the indoor drop sequence will be a cool affect and not the climax of the ride. And from what I understand, the creative folks at SeaWorld parks have gotten pretty good at accidentally "leaking" various pieces of information over the years about new attractions. Manta's splash down and layout drawing, Cheetaka's layout, I think Manta West's layout was leaked at one point or another. Point is I think most of the time if images are leaked its because the park wanted them to be.

Thats a great coaster commercial, I really like everything about this attraction except the name. The whole attraction ara is really starting to look fantastic, I just hope the ride doesn't suck (although I doubt it will, Intamin coasters are usually never a flop, except Millennium Force). Cant wait to get down there in a few weeks.
