  1. I'm a little disappointed to see that there is a second Scat Ride in operation in the world. Beech Bend has officially lost some of it's mystique. It looks like the Zippin Pippin Relocation turned out awesome! I seriously had my doubts about relocating am 80 year old wooden coaster but it looks like everything went well. With that being said does anyone out there know how much of the new Zippin Pippin is original? I know the trains are new, the footers are new, most of the top track layers are probably new and from the looks of the pictures almost all of the bents in the structure looks new. So is this a New Zippin Pippin or a recreation of it similar to all of the Coney Island Cyclone clones out there?
  2. Ah Curiosity Caverns, one of the best kept secrets in all of Central Fl theme parks! I always make a trip though there when at Busch gardens and they are usually almost completely empty. Ive always thought a haunt in there would be awesome!
  3. I have a quick question about Wet N WIld water parks that someone may know the answer to (didn't want to clog the main forum for what is probably a one post response). Are the Wet N Wild water parks in Orlando, FL and Greensboro, NC affiliated in any way (other than the same name) with the Wet n Wild parks in Phoenix, Hawaii and Australia? There are two different websites for the two different sets of parks and they appear to be under different ownership and management but strangely enough share the exact same park name and a a very similar park logo. Anyone know what the deal is or the history of the ownership of these parks? When Wet N Wild was still in Vegas was it affiliated with either of the 2 sets?
  4. The ride entrance/station to Twister is one of the coolest I've ever seen! Both of these parks look amazing and I can't wait to get over there one of these days (hopefully).
  5. That's a pretty nice looking little park, but move aside Cheetah Hunt, The Big Ohhh might officially be the worst the worst coaster name ever haha. Nice trip report man!
  6. ^That weekend is no good for me...... the Jonas Brothers are in town.
  7. I love Busch Gardens, and I like events, so wait I will!
  8. I think a HHN/Legoland/Halloscreams weekend might just be in the works!
  9. It looks like the October operating schedule has been posted as well. Ive never been to a Legoland personally so I'm really excited for this park mostly because I have no idea what to expect. Legoland October Schedule
  10. I halfway agree, I wouldn't call the site ugly but it certainly isn't the most visually appealing site Ive ever seen. It is very dark, and I guess plain is the description I'm looking for, very plain. The early 200's websitey description is fairly accurate. I wouldn't change the format all that much but I think an update to the look would be nice.
  11. I love the format of the Front page, all of the information I am usually looking for is usually right there. I also do like th look of the front page and it does feel "home" because I've been reading here for so long that Ive just gotten used to it. With that being said I think that doing something to modernize the look of the site a little would be a bad thing. I'm not a web designer or artist so I really don't know specifically how to modernize the look, I just think that maybe a little update to the look (not necessarily the format) might be a pleasant change. The web site as is looks just a little dated I guess. One thing that I think might be useful to some people would be some sort of drop down links under the main link for the forum and park index and trips link. The forum link could have a drop down menu that directly link you to the specific forums, or even directly to some of the forums more popular threads (SFMM discussion, Big Mike Roadshow, Shanes Attic, Eric and Smisty's Florida Oddventure, the discussion thread of whatever the hot new coaster everyone is discussing is like cheetah hunt or NTAG). I guess a direct link would only really save you a few seconds in reality but to me the forums are the meat and potatoes of the site in general, so any type of easier access is good.
  12. But it would be even sicker with NTAG track....(and maybe even halfway re-ridable)
  13. And don't even think about playing guitar hero or video games ever again, especially if you want to pitch in the ALCS... http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/16212095/
  14. As if I needed another reason to avoid France!
  15. I'm a a former athlete with multiple concussions AND a coaster nut so I guess my brain is basically toast But in all seriousness, during a session with our team neurologist a few years ago after one of my concussions we talked a little bit about coasters and the effects that G-forces might have on your brain and according to him it was more or less completely insignificant. It's not the g-forces that potentially cause problems as much as the sevre impact. I don't think there's a Vekoma anywhere in the world that can cause a severe enough impact to cause serious brain damage unless there is some serious pre-existing damage which the rider is unaware of (and that has happened before).
  16. I agree. It's pretty funny. Next thing you know, people will suggest it for Voyage, El Toro, and maybe even Ghoster Coaster at KD. But I mean, seriously, how sick would Voyage be with that track on it?
  17. I have a few more people that are pretty interested, so at least 2, probably 4, and maybe as many as 8. Cant wait for the event details to be released!
  18. Oh absolutely. I've done the unlimited at BGT, and while it doesn't include as many rides as the SF ones typically do, it's still a very good deal. Both are worth the money in my opinion. I'm wondering at what point Cheetah Hunt will be added to the Quick Queue. It obviously won't be any time soon, my guess would be after Halloween when the crowds go down. It would be nice if they were able to add Cheetah Hunt to the Unlimited Quick Que with a one ride only per guest limitation, heck make that one ride an additional up-charge to the Unlimited and it would probably still sell. I guess living in Central Florida for a few years and only going to parks in the off season or for special events has spoiled me a little too much.
  19. Yeah, I wonder how long until seat belts are installed, this is America after all we cant have too much of a good thing at our parks.
  20. How do you think the trains will fair for larger ACE sized riders? They look very accommodating in the pictures and I didn't notice a seat belt anywhere that would really restrict some people like the Intamins and B&M's have. Did you notice anyone getting tuned away?
  21. Best pic of the update, Go Cats
  22. I wonder if some of the established coaster companies like Vekoma and Mauer and Zamperla maybe sell their designs to this Golden Horse Company for them to manufacture and install the rides under their name exclusively in a certain region of the world (China) that those companies maybe don't want anything to do with? I know a lot of other industries have manufacturers reps that "represent a company in a certain region". A lot of times these companies are their own individual business that just sell whatever it is that they "represent". So maybe this Golden Horse does the same thing under their own company name with Vekoma and Zampera's designs in hand and permission (and their money in Vekoma's hands).
  23. I have a feeling that the general consensus on this ride is going to be that it's very good, but not great (not a top 10). I've always wondered if that jumping over the sky ride maneuver was in the original design or if at some point halfway through the project they said well we could lower the sky ride a little and raise that camel back a little and make it work? If I recall correctly that was strangely one of the later track sections to get installed, and when it was official that it was going to jump the sky ride it was kind of a big surprise based on the previous videos and art work. I wont judge the ride until I've ridden the thing but it looks like the ride really slows down after that camel back over the sky ride and stays at that "tame" pace until the mid course, maybe as a result of raising that camel back. This still looks like an overall absolutely amazing attraction. I'm sure everyone ranks Tatsu as a better flying coaster than Manta but the entire overall "attraction experience" that Manta gives is superior, I expect Cheetah hunt to be the same kinda thing when compared to Maverick or I-Speed or whatever.
