The Official "TPR Coaster Poll" Thread!

Click on most of the park names, to get to the park's page. It'll list all of the coasters included from that park. -

I think as stated in the original post that not all parks and coasters will be included. To be completely fair and honest, I don't think coasters from any of those three parks would ever crack a top 30 list. Obviously you could push for Waldameer more than the other two for the quality wood coaster, but when was the last time Ravine Flyer II was even in a top 20 list? I am not sure how the parks are ordered/organized but I'm sure it made sense in the design. The only park that I was missing on this that I actually cared about was Waldameer, (Ravine Flyer is high on my list) but I understand it not being there and overall have no real complaints. It's ordered by the order that they were added. I can change it to alphabetical, which would probably make more sense. -

That's strange, I can't either at work on Chrome. I'll have to look a lot at that. -

I'll add that to my list to add. I literally spent a night "Traveling" on RCDB from one major park to the next, so it wasn't super thorough. But I'll be fixing it as I can. -

I hadn't looked at it too much until now, but I see two big differences. 1) I'm trying to include a signifigantly larger set to be ranked, besides 1-10. 2) I'm trying to make it significantly easier to use. I'm hoping it gets to a point you can update it throughout the summer, as you're riding, not waiting months later for a text based ballot. -

Well since we've already disappointed you, I might as well share my initial comments. I find next years addition ...confusing? There's already 2 full sized wave pools that kids love, so now you're adding a third that's significantly smaller, and has a restricted audience. And the nature of most wave pools is that there's a large shallow end which'll offer a very similar experience. And Tembo falls looks difficult to guard and dispatch (there's a lot of space between each slide), while enforcing the height requirements. That said, family additions are pretty much always a good thing and it's a lot easier to manage water quality on a bunch of slides with small runouts when there's water open to the air. So trying to get more kids slides, I'd much rather have an awkward wave pool than deal with an enclosed body of water. Regardless, you're getting some bright colored new kids slides, so it can't be that bad. -
Silverwood Discussion Thread

Even though most people don't care too much, since we're so far away, but Silverwood announced their new Scarywood attraction. [fbvideonew] [/fbvideonew] I've seen bits and pieces of what's inside and I'm very excited for it. Although I am sad that we won't have the Zombiewood Express anymore. The park is calling it the biggest thing for Scarywood since Blood Bayou and from what I can tell it should be just as good. -
Water park rules
Comeagain? replied to WestCoasterKing's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Silverwood generally doesn't have a problem with water shoes on slides. But they don't want sneakers/boots/hard sandals on slides because of the risk to damaging the fiberglass slides or people slowing themselves down while going down the slide. Swimwear that looks like a shirt/shorts/shoes are okay (t-shirt and swimming trunks). Swimwear that looks like a swimsuit (only a speedo, bikini top and skirt) are not. Because we want people to dress appropriately in the (family!) dry side. Some people are fine wearing skimpy clothing. Many people are not. Traumatizing small children is not the goal. And shoes are required in case of an evacuation off of a ride that may require walking down black metal grate stairs (Corkscrew) or through gravel and bushes (Thunder Canyon). -

They do not when following manufacturers SOPs which will have restrictions on wind speed, direction, temperature, and other factors. Being on a very large lake, conditions can change rapidly and calm winds can suddenly stop the giant sails otherwise known as Gatekeeper and Raptor from operating properly. That's not to say that CP doesn't follow B&M's guidelines, just that conditions can (and do) change very quickly and what would have been appropriate conditions aren't while a train is midcourse. -

Silver Bullet Stuck Like a Duck
Comeagain? replied to chadster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That seems like such a strange place for it to get stuck. It must still be on the chain, with the anti-rollbacks engaged. And it's not even the full trains weight on the motor to get started. -

I thought Tremors and TT have been both been completely retracted by now. More topper track on Tremors? Only on the turn after the first drop and the turn past the Roller Coaster Alley sign on Tremors. AFAIK, Timber Terror still doesn't actually have Topper Track anywhere. -
How do you know if it's down far enough? How do you know it's latched properly? How do you know the supposedly invincible teenager is actually wearing a seatbelt? How do you know the restraints are continuing to operate normally throughout the day? All problems that are easily fixed by having an employee check restraints. Especially as restraints can be more complicated (see X2) or difficult (RMC Lapbars) and the employees still need to be there to keep the like moving, the ride running, and fragile people out of the way of the 8 ton steel train coming in. Being welded together doesn't mean it can't be tweaked. Silverwood did a ton of maintenance including some changes to the track on their Corkscrew for the last season. -
