  1. Testing is probably still a month away yet. Keep in mind that just because the steel work is done doesn't mean all the work is done. You still have other items that need to be completed.
  2. I was there from about 2:00pm-3:30pm. Everything had a line and Orange Streak and Plunge were stacking bad.
  3. Valleyfair Fan Meet-up I'll be in town for business January 15th (THIS Thursday). RCJunkie and I will be having dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe at the MOA (inside NU). We'll meet up in the park near HRC around 5:00ish and anyone who shares an interest in Valleyfair is welcome to attend. Please RSVP to RCJunkie or me so we can get an idea on a head count.
  4. Power Rangers isn't a Nickelodeon property. So... Probably not happening
  5. Even though Lightning Run looks good, don't we have enough Chance/Arrow/Morgan style track at VF? Still think a Patriot/Talon style B&M invert is the next new coaster. Even though it concerns me that CW is rumored to be getting one and may have an SLC to donate.
  6. At the rate their moving, I wouldn't be surprised if this thing is entering the tunnel by end of day Saturday. They still have three working days left this week. They are zooming through construction on this baby and I love it.
  7. I've always wondered how much of that is true that the profits of smaller parks go into the bigger parks. I think the bigger parks pay for their own additions just fine. Call me a Ouimet fanboi if you will but so far he has a track record of finding the weakness is the parks and fixing them. Has he fixed them all yet. Of course not, but he has implemented much needed improvement to each park and I think to the chain overall. If he looks at the numbers from MA and sees that attendance and spending are okay, the park probably won't see much right now. If he looks and sees room for growth, I think the park will receive an attraction that will allow for the growth. If my home park was MIA, I'd feel neglected too. Had the SLC from GL been a BTR clone..... Not one bit.
  8. I noticed there's a blinking light on top of Fury. I knows it's for air traffic, but does anyone know if this will be permanent?
  9. Last Tuesday, saw Dumb and Dumber To. When was the last time you ate at a restaurant?
  10. Not trying to bash Screamscape, but do we have any definitive proof of this?
  11. Wasn't this new roller coaster supposed to have dual stations for increased capacity.
  12. Windseeker would like a word with you. I wonder if this announcement is because of a deal struck at IAAPA. Perhaps something was on the table for a while and the park signed the dotted line in Orlando.
  13. Quite a few exciting Carnival related announcements from IAAPA: KMG was pleased to announce that three Inversion deals had been finalized, all of which will be delivered and showcased at the 2016 IISF Trade Show in Gibsonton. Wisconsin based Mr.Eds' Magical Midways, Butler Amusements, and All Around Amusements have all signed contracts for new Inversions. Powers Great American Midways recently took delivery of a one trailer Inversion, themed Khaos, at the North Carolina State fair. The ride was the 9th top grossing ride at the event, which Theunisz finds amazing considering the ride's 12 seat capacity in comparison with large roller coasters, flume rides, and other spectacular rides that were at the fair. Tim and Pam Casper's PBJ Happee Day Shows is set to take delivery of a new Inversion this winter. The new piece themed "Flatline 360" will be on display at the IISF Trade Show in Gibsonton this February. The new ride replaces Casper's existing Inversion, "Nemesis 360" which the show recently sold to a show in Canada. The new attraction has an updated LED lighting package and new software and will feature a similar color scheme to the Nemesis. Zamperla had one of the largest indoor displays, displaying their new Fiesta Balloon Ferris Wheel, a 33ft tall balloon gondola wheel. The attraction all racks on one semi trailer and features a direct drive motor gear box as opposed to a rim driven application. Chance will be building its first portable Zipper in over a decade. Pat and Doug Skinner, of Crystal lake, Illinois based Skinner's Amusements purchased a new Zipper with a LED Lighting package from Denny's Electronics at the show. Prior to that, the last piece Chance sold to a portable show was the Free Style for Ray Cammack Shows in 2013.
  14. They don't bring any rides into the Minnesota State Fair any longer. For those who don't know, Minnesota State Fair (along with the state fairs in FL, WI & TX) is an independent midway. They select the rides individually to ensure they're getting the best possible rides. There are several dark rides still traveling. Typically found on larger shows, you can find a few on smaller 15-20 ride shows.
  15. Both have racing coasters with wooden structures For the record, the answer to mine was both have arrow suspended coasters that have been removed. Lets try this one: Wild Waves and Valleyfair.
