  1. $6.50 for a 1/4lb of bacon at an amusement park? This makes me all the more excited for my trip next year.
  2. Visit Dorney before Knoebels. You won't be as disappointed. FTFY
  3. How'd you get to do the Mystery Mine maintenance tour? VIP tour? Or was it just something they were doing?
  4. The Berserkers tent is pretty permanent and not easily dissasembled. My opinion on those locations for a haunt attraction is that they are too "out in the open" and very blatant for the summer season leading to lots of confused guests asking how to get on "that ride" -All permanent haunt locations are used primarily as haunt storage in not-haunt season. And they were built in backstage areas/areas that are not otherwise accessible to guests and likely will build no more as Chateau du Damne's old location is now a bar and The Asylum went the way of the dodo because of the fustercluck that was the PR of Fear VR/Zombie bumper cars. So that's potentially two places to add new mazes without constructing permanent structures where they could potentially add new season-long attractions. -Dinos Alive/Haunt Alley is built on the old picnic grounds. -Dino Slaughter sucked all kinds of from both guests and actors from what I've heard. Dinos could be a cool maze/scare zone if they themed it to a mad scientist's time travel experiment and had actors dressed from all periods do the scaring. -Several guests ask what the permanent haunts are as the facades stay in place all year. Other than that, an interesting thing to note is that Dark Harvest is just a relocated/renamed Hellside Farm--previously located in Soak City. Could this possibly have something to do with the eventual Soak City expansions we're all expecting? But then again, Hellside has had numerous locations since its inception so it could just be another location experiment by the park.
  5. My Zen ride on Valleyfair's Renegade about a month ago:
  6. It's essentially the Orlando area on weed, meth, and heroin.
  7. It wouldn't surprise me if staffing was part of the problem Herr as it seemed like the park had some operational issues during the season.
  8. I share your confusion here. Lightning Run is great--lots of crazy airtime packed in a small space. Or an Intamin Mega-Lite?
  9. What was wrong with the round-up? I've always enjoyed that style of ride and am upset that few parks still have them.
  10. While there's no doubting that as I've seen people climbing shade canopies and taking their shirts off mid-cycle and throwing them away. If you make something idiot proof, someone will just make a better idiot.
  11. And let's not forget that Xcelerator is an early 2000s Intamin Launcher. I'd be surprised if it wasn't in need of constant maintenance.
  12. Planting a single tree would be considered a "great improvement."
  13. ^Looking around that area, I'd think a Starflyer would be a safer bet.
  14. If CP operates their tower in a similar manner to Valleyfair, I see 2 explanations: -If loaded: An idiot ride op hit the e-stop button. -If unloaded: it was in maintenance mode and was being worked on.
  15. Here's a new grain of salt for you all...
  16. Back in 2010, I got my first and only rides on Dragon Challenge. While unfortunately, I missed the Dueling Dragons queue, I was at least able to get a dueling experience. Ice in the front, fire in the back. At least they still duel in my dreams. RIP
  17. I actually chuckled out loud at this! Seems like something I would do. Does that mean that the leopards had to be spotted as well?
  18. ^I think it was either a Dippin' Dots guy or an armchair engineer.
  19. Just a bit of early trip planning for next July. My plan would be to fly in to the area over the weekend, CGA Monday/Tuesday, Wednesday either a day off or a spare day in case of weather, and then Thursday or Friday at SFDK. I am willing to spend both at the park, but could I do the park in a single day hitting all credits/worthwhile flats/best of the rest?
  20. Not every ride will be for everybody. As for me, I like my tea strong.
  21. I would say that this is more awesome than random, but still:
  22. RidTipe turns the water off on colder days, otherwise it's always running. How wet you get mostly depends on where you're sitting. As one who's operated RipTide, I'd recommend leaving all personal items with a non-rider or in the bunnies across the midway. The platform which riders are instructed to leave loose articles on frequently gets wet--especially on windy days. Or just bring waterproof stuff.
