  1. I don't believe they are blaming video games as part of the reason it has become less popular. Some wax museuems are still popular so I think there are other reasons, maybe it hasn't been updated in a while to have newer wax models with people who are popular today?. Madame Tussads in NYC was jammed last time I was there and everyone including kids seemed to be having a good time.
  2. Nice photos. That ride where you pump the handle to go is a lot of fun. They also have it at Sesame Place.
  3. I couldn't tell if there was a block brake or not from the video but if there was, they could have just held the train on the block brakes until he got free.
  4. Because 3rd party developers think they can get the $60 because it's a new system and more expensive developer costs. I think it's horrible but I don't think it will be a problem for long. Games have a hard time selling for $49.99 as it is now (look how fast some games have price drops like Beyond Good And Evil dropped from $49.99 to $19.99 in less than 2 months!), so I think after the holiday rush, few people will be willing to spend $59.99 on a game.

  6. Best - Space Mountain at WDW. It's easy to follow since there aren't any switchbacks until the end and it's cool inside the building Worst - Rebel Yell at PKD, the queue is way too long. It takes forever to walk through it because there is never a wait out of the station. Laser at Dorney Park, not being able to pick your row when there is a full train is bad enough but they won't even let you pick your row at all even if the train is 1/2 full. I know it's a portable coaster but considering it has been there for almost 20 years, they should have designed a better queue and station for the ride.
  7. Geico, their commericals on both the TV and Radio really make me NOT want to use their insurance.
  8. I got Kennywood 48% Theme, 34% Rides, 56% Atmosphere, 48% Value
  9. I went to the Jersey shore. The coasters at Ocean City were all closed for the season so I just played some DDR and then went to Atlantic City and lost $20.
  10. Class of 2000, I just got a letter about a 5 year class reunion last week. Seems hard to believe it's been 5 years already.
  11. Most tourists probably do know a closed SBNO ride is SBNO though. Most people who aren't into coasters or are familiar with the park would know Flashback for example is SBNO. All they see is a closed ride.
  12. Nice that they are getting more rides. I hope there is no maximum height limit. I wonder what kind of lines these rides will get though. In a crowded park like Sea World, with 3 new low capacity rides I can imagine those lines will get long.
  13. I agree about the water cannons. I knew Saw Mill Log Flume had the water cannons but I didn't know Poland Springs Plunge had them as well (which I think is horrible they would put water cannons on a ride in what is basically a kids area). It's even worse in cooler weather. I know you go on a Log Flume expecting to get wet but some of those water cannons can really get you soaked. I don't know if they do it or not but they should at least turn them off it is under a certain temperature outside.
  14. With them sold out, you can still get them if you make it yourself. They look like the same snowglobes they sell at craft stores with a photo insert. You can just buy the snowglobe, print out a picture of the coaster you want and put it in the picture insert and get basically the same product.
  15. Besides the ones you mentioned, 3 other ones I have are- Not allowing re-rides on coasters when there is no one waiting for your row and the train isn't even 1/3 full Overpriced skill games Rigged skill games (like when a basketball game has an oval rim instead of a circular rim)
  16. SooperDooperLooper at Hersheypark in May 1999. I didn't like it the first but after some more rides on it a few years later (and the Loch Ness Monster at BGW), I started to like loops a lot more.
  17. Even if it was rough, I think they still should have kept it. Isn't the area where the ride was just vacant anyway? Plus, they really could have used another coaster considering the lack of coasters they have now (they have more past coasters than current coasters!)
  18. That self service postal machine looks cool. I wish they had those in my area since it would make things a lot easier than having to deal with the postal clerks all the time as they are never too happy when I come in almost everyday with 10 - 15 items to mail (EBay sales).
  19. Surprising to hear that Pooh never has a line. In WDW, it seems like the line is always 45+ minutes (unless you get there early when the park opens). I have even seen it get over 100 minutes at Christmas. Maybe it's not as popular in DL because it's not in Fantasyland?
  20. I had considered thinking about going but it's been raining for 12+ hours here. No fun to drive 2 1/2 hours in the rain and then walk around in the rain all day, then another 2 1/2 of driving home in the rain.
  21. Yeah, Expert is heavy. The older US DDR games used that system as well were Basic/Light was called Standard, Trick/Standard was called Difficult and Maniac/Heavy was called Expert.
  22. Suppoedly the show buildings are empty. I don't think the animatronics were ever completed or put up in the building if they were completed.
  23. Figuring it's the standard Wacky Worm it isn't powered: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3184.htm
  24. Joga needed some more songs in DDR. Other than Dam Darriam and Bye Bye Baby Balloon (only found in DDR Max arcade and the Japanese PS2 version of DDR max), that's all they had. I hate how all the artists that had songs in DDR like Captain Jack, Smile.dk, Bambee, Papaya, E-Rotic etc. haven't had any new songs in DDR for years. The US DDR games are getting some of the songs but those are all old from older DDR games.
