Most INTENSE Coaster Moment?
KingRCT3 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Has any of you been on a Capriolo by Mondial? They are quite common over here in Europe, but I don't think there are much of these (if any) in the US. (Random Google image) I just rode my first one yesterday (Maxximum), and the passages when the gondola dives upside down all the way across the valley is just something you don't get anywhere else! I don't know how many negative g you have in here (if it's going full speed, it's about -3.7g!!), but it's really intense. Not as unpleasant as I'd have expected, thanks to the comfy seats and harnesses. Here's a video -not mine- but it's the model I rode, at the fair I was, with the views I had: I'm talking about the passage at 3:33. I had four of them, 3 frontward and one backward if I recall correctly. -

No more floorless, no more inverted, no more lap-bars... This is ridiculous, you can't barely do anything except maing sure that a collision doesn't happen again. -
Hansa Park Discussion Thread
KingRCT3 replied to Gutterflower's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Seriously?? I was thinking of that and thought it would be there when we saw the first pics of the lift (because of the brake mechanism, and the habit of Hansa Park to do awesome extra stuffs)! But then I saw that the same things were on Smiler... on which I read a speculation about that kind of lift, but it hasn't happened. -

I can't wait to be dispatched and yell "Wrong lever, Kronk". It seems that Efteling wasn't happy with the color of that lever, though. They repainted it: Pic from Beeld Werkt) I like how they still bother and don't act like "Meh, whatever. Will do better next time". -

Haaa! Does it has such a bad reputation abroad as well? Anyways, we all agree that theming is pretty nice. And those rides are just so much fun! Like we needed another reason to go to Holiday Park anyway. -

What do you mean by CDG? For me, it's one of the two Paris airports (Paris Charles De Gaulle). Am I missing something? -

Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
KingRCT3 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just a side reflection to myself: I love that when girls (ie. you TheHalonSystem) tell a story, they always tend to add details that are not relevant in the end. It's something I don't see guys doing much. But I'm glad you enjoyed a giant ice cream cone before the ride. And while some screams are annoying - especially on videos when you're not "in the mood", I totally agree rides won't be the same without some (over) reactions from riders! It reminds me one time when a kid behind me was mocking me for putting hands up on BTM, like "ugh this is a kiddy ride". I don't care. -

KingRCT3 replied to Pepper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I won't mind since I'm as much a theme-park enthusiast as a coaster fan - yet they better make this interesting and "re-watchable" (and not too long) or it'll get annoying pretty soon. But I trust Efteling about that, and having a break between rides is actually a good thing. But I know not everyone will have my patience, and what sounds great on paper ("a long and immersive experience..." ) doesn't always turn out to be great in practise ("Standing in a crowded room for minutes, re-watching the same thing in Dutch ever and ever again... Let me ride!"). -

It kinda reminds me of the preshow of Mystery Manor for some obvious reasons. I like preshows at least once, but I guess you'll by-pass them using the single rider? -
I'm late to the party since we now know it's going to be a flying coaster... But yeah, I second your Free-Fly coaster idea! It kind reminds my version of an Avatar-themed ride I had for the new land at Animal Kingdom: Picture 1 Picture 2 At least Universal isn't going with the simulator kind of ride and you will ACTUALLY be flying!

Changing the theme and name will only be like giving credits to the GP. "Yeah, that's right, Smiler was a disaster, we'll completely change it". Alton Towers should not play that game. Smiler was, and still is safe. -

I think hangtime is an overstatement when it comes to Mack loops. On Blue Fire, you feel weightless, as opposed to the mega hangtime you have on the final heartline roll. -

Just a small tip I have in mind at the moment: The Walt Disney Studios opens usually half an hour before the official time written on the maps and boards. That means if it says 10:00, show up for 9:30 and the front gates so you'll be the first in line for the attractions. If you enter the park at 10 o'clock, Ratatouille and Crush will already have a line above the hour... -

As long as you have access to the original files, I think it's easy. See how the movies are translated into many languages. That's a proof music, effects and dialogues are all on different tracks. It will be VERY dumb for them to mix it all on a single track. -

I want to react about this testimony and have your opinion about that. In short, a visitor warned the staff about the stalled car, but was 'told to mind his own business'. At first, the hate would naturally flows toward the employee(s) not listening and being rude. But in a second thought, I think the guy should not have tried to warn the staff, and their reply was, albeit rude, justified. You know, it reminds me of the situation when you're driving in your car, and your wife/husband/passenger doesn't stop screaming and judging your driving. "Brake! Watchout! A pedestrian! Slow down!", ect. Ok one of the warning might be helpful, but it's easy now to brag about it after it has happened. I think ride ops might hear a lot of people yelling that the ride is broken, while it's not the case (ie. stopped on the lift for reasons), and it gets annoying. They are the ones running the thing, not the guests. And then, it's not only annoying to them but also disturbing, especially in this scenario. They must have been under pressure - various technical difficulties, a lot of impatient peeps in the queue line, a hierarchy that oversees, etc. In the end, the answer was legit, and the guest should have mind his own business. -
