  1. On the snapchat, the PR guy is taking a trip by plane? Could he be heading to another park to try a ride similar to what is being added next year? I've seen that happen before. I don't feel like they would put that on snapchat if it didn't have any significance.
  2. No it's for the construction of Blood on the Bayou.
  3. My bets are on that 2-story Haunt building coming this year. It most likely isn't 2 stories. That's just the entrance building. We have the same house here.
  4. That wasn't actually their twitter. In all honesty if it is a tempesto clone i will be PISSED. Like high key pissed. With SDC and Adventureland building completely unique rides, I really don't think WoF will be building a clone. Yeah WOF doesn't build clones...(except every steel coaster in the park). I'd be so down for a Tempesto clone. They're forceful, tall, and fun. Just make sure you have dual loading/three cars.
  5. In my defense, WOF does have a Twitter account @offical_wof, but I forgot that it's their old one. You got me!
  6. Awe, you caught me too quick. No fun.
  7. Well guys... this just happened... (WOF's tweet was deleted shortly after. New guy saying too much maybe?)
  8. I don't think it's a conincidence that the area being teased in got some sprucing up this season (jailhouse, train station, etc.)
  9. You're correct, and I'm trying not to get my hopes up. But Worlds of Fun has NEVER teased this early for something small. In fact, WOF hasn't teased ANYTHING to the GP since Planet Snoopy in 2011. The concern of mine isn't the banner itself but the markers and flags next to it. Why would they already be in the early phases of construction if it wasn't something that's atleast decent sized? Also, I agree: this has almost no resemblance to Valravn's wall. With that teaser, we knew exactly what we were getting: new coaster. With this one, I have no idea. I'm still leaning towards dark ride. A coaster still seems improbable but I'd like a coaster more than anything.
  10. Tiger Trax to Wild Thing is like a tricycle to a Harley Davidson. If you have kids and want to see animals, go Como. If you want actual thrill rides, ValleyFair. As much as I love plants and animals, I'd still go to ValleyFair. Come on guys... Tiger Trax vs. Wild Thing is not a fair comparison. Here's a better playing field... (I'm just kidding. No hard feelings )
  11. No he was asking if WOF would add a dark ride THIS YEAR, in which I say there is no way in hell. But I still see it as the best possibility for 2017.
  12. Agreed. Worlds of Fun has become one of Cedar Fair's moat themed parks in the last couple of years, only beaten out by Knott's. Hell, they even built a jailhouse in the western-themed section of the park just for the heck of it this year! Additions such as the Train Robbery and other neat minor details are starting to Bing back the charm that was ripped away in the mid-2000's. As crazy as it sounds, if I were in charge, WOF would be the next park to receive Carowinds treatment. SDC has proven that Missouri can support a 2 million+ park attendance wise, so why couldn't WOF? I was just reading the other day about a newspaper in Omaha, Nebraska celebrating Opening Day at WOF! That's some good draw!
  13. Flat rides? Possibly. Dark ride? Hell no.
  14. WOF had a bigger budget than VF and CGA this year so they decided to invest their money wisely. I'm guessing KD and WOF both got around a $5 million budget, but WOF decided to spend it on seven smaller rides (plus GCI on Timberwolf and Mamba repaint) while KD put all their money into one ride. That expansion list is BS by the way. If Matt really said investments were coming, they would've come. The only reason CGA revealed a massive plan was so the city would back them up in their efforts against the 49's. I'm not saying this from a fanboy perspective. Just a logical one: If any park needs expansion right now, it's WOF. Silver Dollar City is about to build two massive new roller coasters by 2020, Schlitterbahn just built the world's tallest water slide, Six Flags is most likely building a new coaster, and Adventureland is killing it with Storm Chaser and Monster. The competition is fierce in Missouri right now. WOF needs to do something or it will be a thing of the past.
  15. I'm singing this in every ERT I attend in 2016.
  16. Dark ride. Makes the most sense from the park's perspective. But honestly I could see both.
  17. They actually got their last one in 2009, Renegade's little sibling Prowler, making it 8 years. We'll be hitting 11 years assuming we get one in 2018. Granted, their slice of the Cedar Fair pie is bigger than ours so it kinda makes sense. Am I happy? No. Does it make sense? Yes. We'll get our coaster when we get it. That is assuming WOF gets a coaster, which I'm still leaning towards no.
  18. Great! I was hoping I wouldn't get E. coli on this ride.
  19. Of course! I feel as though the "middle class" of Cedar Fair is very small, with KD being the only park that fits in that category. I'd say WoF is the closest step down from that.
  20. If I had to guess, I'd say Cedar Fair plans to push WOF to at least KD size within the next few years. HAUNT is doing wonders for them.
  21. Mamba, about 30 minutes away.
  22. I'm not from Minnesota, but if I had the option between an annual pass to MoA or VF, it would be a tough sell. I'd probably opt for MoA and buy a one-day ticket during HAUNT! Even with some of the worst operations I've ever seen at a park, Nickelodeon Universe is an awesome park with some great one-of-a-kind attractions (including my favorite flat ride of all time, Shell Shock). VF doesn't offer too much of a unique product anymore. I'd love for them to get an invert, but CF doesn't like adding B&M's to smaller parks anymore (last one was in 2006).
