  1. If i'm not mistaken Cedar Fair said in a USA Today article that they would test the waters with GCI and RMC... I may be hopeful but don't count out RMC just yet Praying to god they RMC Hurler then. If KI really is getting a giga, I honestly think they should experiment and have Mack Rides build it (if they're willing). It would be great cross between I305 and Leviathan. That would be something, has Mack done a giga? I think they've built Hypers, A giga would be cool though, and the cars dont have OTSR!! I've always imagined Mack building a giga. I'm sure it would be one the most unique, kick-a$$ coasters out there.
  2. Maybe WoF just decided to say "YOLO".
  3. El Toro No. Not even close. I love El Toro but it's not butter smooth. It's smooth but not Fury smooth. Look, Fury may be smooth, but it will never be Mean Streak smooth.
  4. I didn't know that it was part of this year's budget. I wouldn't be surprised to see them add at least one ride added this year once everything from Thunderhawk is removed. I'm also hearing from other threads that WoF may be rushing for a new coaster next year to compete with Adventureland's new coaster (which looks phenomenal, might I add). Anybody else heard this? If so, I'd love to see a Premier coaster launch over the railroad tracks and to the land currently occupied by Le Taxi Tour. With the teasers presented, that would be ideal.
  5. For the sake of everyone, I surely do hope Valleyfair! gets a new coaster. An invert would do the park nicely. Not exactly Banshee sized, but more Talon and Patriot sized is what I'm suspecting.
  6. I get that you're a WOFanatic, but putting WOF in the same tier as KD seems incredibly, incredibly optimistic! WOF has spent about $25 million on additions since I305 was built. Can you name any other park smaller than KD that has spent that much? Usually the two parks get the same things now. Planet Snoopy upgrades, a Windseeker, new slide complex, splash pad, dinos, etc. KD has gotten a major flat ride too but WOF should be getting two new rides soon. I don't think they are on the same level necessarily, but they usually get about the same stuff.
  7. 2 new flats and a Disko Coaster is actually not a bad idea. I'd be slightly disappointed with the tease, but still...
  8. I just a don't think it's a good fit just yet .. It's either WOF, KI, or KD who's going to get the capital investment this year . I feel like we have a pretty good chance I feel like 2017 will be like 2015. Big ride, medium ride, and some small rides. KI will get the Fury, while we get the Iron Reef (and I am perfectly fine with that).
  9. Describe each 'tier' of the CF parks. Is there an official park categorizer that places parks in each tier or are you just disappointed that Kings Dominion is in the top 5 in Cedar Fair's most roller coasters instead of the top 2? Fingers wrote: I wouldn't even put it in top 5, as CP, ConWon, Carowinds, Knott's, and KI usually rank higher in the food chain. Here's how PhantomPoster ranked the parks investment-wise, and I tend to agree: Tier 1 Investment Parks Cedar Point Canada's Wonderland Tier 1.5 Investment Parks Carowinds Tier 2 Investment Parks Knotts Berry Farm Kings Island Tier 3 Investment Parks Kings Dominion Worlds of Fun Tier 4 Investment Parks Valleyfair Dorney Park California's Great America Tier 5 Investment Parks Michigan's Adventure
  10. The fact that they didn't put Patriot (the parks only B&M, the parks only Inverted Coaster) on the teaser, either hints a new B&M, or a new inverted coaster Both are very unlikely. I'm personally hoping for a fun, larger-scale dark ride. Wonder Mountain's Guardian and Voyage to the Iron Reef both look great, so if it's something along those lines, I'd be a very happy man. A small roller coaster element would be awesome too. But what would they theme a dark ride like that? Considering it's location, I suspect we should see some Wild West action with some Cowboys thrown in. If they used the big red games barn for the queue, that could be quite a grand entrance.
  11. If they are teasing in April for 2 used flat rides then that would be the worst marketing failure I've seen since Tempesto.
  12. For KD I'd stop thinking Banshee or Fury size and start thinking Patriot or Hydra size. Expecting anything bigger than that is just setting yourself up for disappointment.
  13. KD fanboys remind me of little fat kids that complain that they're starving every time they go 45 minutes without eating.
  14. Doesn't really effect anything, really. There are plenty of parks with more than one dark ride.
  15. Please not this again... I hope you're trolling. But I wouldn't be surprised if you weren't. Look, I know it's disheartening to realize that your home park isn't a giant mega-park like Cedar Point or Kings Island, but it is something you have to accept. I'd be feeling blessed that you even got a giga coaster. KD has lowered in status since then though. I'd say KD is now on the same level as WoF, DP, and VF in terms of expansions.
  16. If KI was to get a dark ride, wouldnt they maybe/probably use the Tomb Raider building? I don't know. There could be a reason why they aren't. It has always been just a rumor and nothing more.
  17. I'm starting to believe that both KI and WoF are getting dark rides considering they are both starting construction at the same time. I mean, possibly it could be a coincidence, but I just find it weird that they both are teasing and starting construction within the same week.
  18. That might be a little low in today's dollars. I know Holiday World's Thunderbird was said to have cost $22 million. I'm not saying B&M's aren't great, but WoF's wouldn't be with the budget we are given (with the exception of a dive coaster. I'd be so down for that). I'm starting to believe that both KI and WoF are getting dark rides considering they are both starting construction at the same time. 19. I would. Patriot is boring to me. I feel like if the park did get a new B&M it would be a bottom of the barrel, uninspired B&M. Worlds of Fun does not have a Fury, Banshee, or even Valravn budget right now. I feel that you would get a lot more bang for your buck with a Premier coaster.
  20. Same here, as long as it gets the same amount of care and attention to detail that CF's other new coasters have been getting.
  21. Actually, flags have been placed where the old mini golf was. Yellow flags scattered on the grass and pink flags on the trees! I think you're in the wrong thread. EDIT: Oh Carowinds... got it. What we need to know is where all the markers are placed. But I also do agree that CF would not throw a teaser out there this early for just two old flat rides. But a huge coaster I don't see You're right. A huge coaster wouldn't even fit there. If we got a smaller launch coaster though, that would be amazing.

  23. See, that's the other part that confuses me even though it could be the flats. The thing is, what else could go where the flags are? A Premier Sky Rocket II could if they took out the games barn, kiddy bumper car building, and the dog show theater.
  24. So you people honestly think they would start putting up flags up in April for two new flats for next year? Laughable... If so, wouldn't Carowinds already be way further along than us? They are supposedly building 5 rides +even more stuff.
  25. Hurler is in house, and KI's most likely won't be more than $30 million. I don't think they would ever add a coaster more than $15 million at WoF (or VF, DP, and MiA, for that matter) so there will most likely be more than enough for a medium-sized coaster.
