Guess this Coaster! (By the Layout)
willthegolfer replied to tarheel1231's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Air is correct! I purposely didn't put in the dual loading because it would have given it away, and yes, that transition is fly to lie. -

Absolutely Yes- Roller Coasters, Golf, RMC, Montu, Busch Gardens, SfGam, Goliath, RCT2, Mexican Food, Forza Motorsport, Chipotle, UK Top Gear, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Carrabba's. Absolutely No- most modern pop music, unintelligent CP fanboys (not that all CP fanboys are), Gwazi, Gran Turismo 5, Qdoba, USA Top Gear. -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
willthegolfer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
According to Screamscape (which means it must be true), the 2015 project involves revamping the entrance for a new "sense of arrival." Screamscape has been wrong many times before, and this is far from a confirmation, but I though it was an interesting idea. http://www.screamscape.com/html/knoebels.htm -
B&M vs Intamin
willthegolfer replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"We don't want to make the most cars, we want to make the best cars." - Henry Ford Intamin does want to make the best, and they do. An intamin has had #1 and #2 on the Golden Ticket list every year since 2001, also Intamin has had #1 and #2 in Mitch Hawker every year since 2001, excluding 2008 and 2009, where Eagle Fortress took second both years. I305, GeForce, Bizarro, Kawasemi, iSpeed, Skyrush, Maverick, and Mega-Lite all finished in the top 10 in Mitch Hawker last year. In my opinion, Intamin has more great coasters than B&M does, not to mention Millennium Force, Goliath, Dragster, Xcelerator, Piraten, and Superman Escape. -
Hi Title fairy, could I please have a title related to Goliath @ Sfgam? Thanks!

I know this may sound a bit odd considering Six Flags hasn't bought one since 2008, but how about a compact GCI? Considering the park is well developed, there's not much room for a large coaster, and because of the fact that Judge is the only woodie left there, I think it would be a great move to put in a compact, quick, exciting, and relatively cheap GCI woodie near La Vibora and the Flume Ride, and possibly all the way over to the area between NTAG and Titan. I think that would be a perfect addition for SfOt in 2015, but that's just my opinion.

New Roller Coasters in the RAW!
willthegolfer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Received Roller Coasters in the raw Volume 8 a few days ago! I've watched gravity max and gatekeeper so far, and the footage is just fantastic! Lots of different perspectives, and really high quality! I'm looking forward to watching the rest! Plus, I got Coaster Expeditions Volume 8 as an added bonus! I enjoyed this DVD, it showed me how fun TPR tours can be! Hopefully I can go on one someday. Thanks Robb and Elissa! -
I have a few airtime questions... Stealth @ Thorpe, I know it has some, but how good is it? Goliath @ SfOg Gold Striker @ CGA YOLOCoaster @ SFMM Wodan @ Europa Thanks!

Gilroy Gardens doesn't, but that doesn't really count. That's not dumb, I was just pointing out a fact.

Yeah, I would advise everyone to use google earth or google maps if possible. -
Hello there, I have had two visits to Busch Gardens recently, one was during my spring break, early april, weekday, and the lines were excellent. I got three rides on Montu, Kumba, Sheikra, and Scorpion, plus two more on Gwazi in about 6 hours. That was before Cheetah hunt. The last time I went was last month, during the middle of Christmas break, and It was some of the longest lines I've ever experienced. We were lucky to get there early and rode all the major coasters with less than 10 minute waits, but after that, everything was an hour+, so we got barely any re-rides. Montu seems to be the most efficient coaster, so that's a plus. My advice is get there EARLY, I got walk-ons on Cheetah Hunt, montu and kumba just after the park opened. I think overall you should be fine. That seems like an earlier spring break than most, so I would expect 30 min waits or less, but it can be unpredictable at times. Have Fun!

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
willthegolfer replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Going to have to disagree on this one. While I like Flyers, and think more should be built (rather than Wing Coasters), B&M inverts are some of the most forceful,fast-paced, intense coasters out there, they also happen to be my favorite category of B&M. Even some of the modern inverts pack a good punch compared to other modern B&M's, but that's just my opinion. -

B&M vs Intamin
willthegolfer replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to have to go B&M, mostly because I've only been on one good Intamin and a few good B&M's, but that may change when I ride Stealth this summer. -
The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

I like it the way it is, because having airtime while facing the ground is one of my favorite feeling, and that's the whole point of this launch (not the mention the plunge right to the ground part). You can find this feeling at the entrance of B&M's pretzel roll, and that's why I love this move. Plus, it has other advantages : When you wait for the launch, you're comfy on your back (build that in the UK if the sun is a problem), and anyways with the track faced the other way, you can't have such hammer launch. Or they could launch it indoors if sun is an issue. -

The Official TPR Bag of Crap Thread!

Came home today to a TPR Bag-O-Crap! Sadly, I cannot post a picture because when I try to add the file, It keeps telling me it is invalid. But, it was a great package and thank you to Robb for being so generous!
