  1. I think this was planned all along, here's why. -In the original concept art, there was no gap in the supports under the airtime hill, which is where the service road passes through. The road has been there for a long time and I doubt they would block it with supports because it is needed to get to maintenance area. Also, I believe at IAAPA someone at RMC said there would be a change in the support structure from the concept art. The park also stated at the TPR tour a few weeks ago that the ride was on schedule to open, and if this change was to speed up construction, I doubt that they came up with it in less than a month. I think they either wanted to keep it a secret or didn't have time to get an exact structure figured out in time for the announcement. That road is how emergency vehicles would get to a desired place if it was needed. Ah, gotcha, even more of a reason that they wouldn't block it off.

  7. ^^Exactly, it's definitely all about the track, supports make no difference. That Morey's coaster looks pretty sweet, who designed it?
  8. If this is true, then will that poll count Goliath as steel? It's track and supports are partially steel and the wheels are polyurethane? And I don't believe anybody is contesting that at this point. Has anybody said, "Oh no, now Goliath is a steel coaster!"? My point is there's more that makes a wooden coaster FEEL like a wooden coaster than just what the track is made out of, and the support structure is an enormous part of that. The wheels are a smaller but still important part. RMC has gone way further in blurring the lines here, and for some that's a disappointment. As for calling it a "hybrid", that bothers me too since there is no wooden coaster that doesn't have some steel in its construction as well. So what makes it a hybrid? The word hybrid is usually used in two ways. One meaning is a wooden hybrid coaster with wooden track and completely steel supports (ie: Voyage). A steel hybrid has track that is completely steel (ie: NTAG) with wooden supports. Goliath has wooden track with mostly wooden supports. If the Mitch Hawker poll really does say that if any significant part of the ride is steel, then the wheels must be steel, are the supports for just the lift hill significant enough for Goliath not to be considered a wooden coaster? If so, Goliath would not be a wooden coaster according to the Mitch Hawker poll, but they can't count it as steel either. In my book, this is a wooden coaster due to the track being wooden.
  9. I've had two different experiences on Kumba. The first time I rode it was in the late afternoon and it was incredible. It was smooth, with plenty of force without being overwhelming. The zero-g roll is spectacular, there is some serious weightlessness. Last time I rode it, about a month ago, it was in the morning around 10. It was pretty rough, even a little headbanging, especially through the second half. It was still enjoyable, and the zero g roll was great, but was also felt a little more sluggish through the layout than my previously mentioned ride. Has anyone else experienced this morning/afternoon difference on Kumba, or is it just me?
  10. Being forced to marathon Goudurix for 597 hours. What's worse than going to Eastern France and not going to Europa Park? (which is actually happening for me)
