  2. ^ Scott Rutherford's "The American Roller Coaster" was released in (I believe) early 2000, as it ends with articles and CGI of Millennium Force and Lightning Racer. A very good history book, I thought, though a) it obviously doesn't cover the last decade of innovation and b) I'm not sure if it's still in print. // Used it to write a 9-page essay on coaster history last week
  3. I swear, if there's any way one of these shindigs can happen in the summer, I'm so there.
  4. "If you want coffee, you go to a cafe. You want marijuana, you go to a coffee shop." Awesome TR.
  5. ^ Our university is doing Urinetown and I get to be Lockstock! First play and also the first time I've ever tried to sing publicly and NOT try to be mocked for it. Needs some work, and with 12 days to go before Performance #1, the improvements need to come fast.
  6. It looks like something the Griswolds would drive cross-country. Dan "Roll 'em up" Smith
  7. Guess I'll mention the record-breakers: - Millennium Force, 2000 - Steel Dragon 2000, 2000 (couldn't have guessed) - Top Thrill Dragster, 2003 - Kingda Ka, 2005 With scores more in other categories besides height/speed, I'm sure.
  8. ^TPR'ers have already done the schematics for most of 'em! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23345
  9. I'm still holding out for Purgatory Tours and Expedition: Exodus.

    WDW October

"Strike that... reverse that." Crowds were rather low when I went earlier this month, but I'd imagine it would get more crowded the nearer that magical end-of-month date draws.
  11. Awesometastic TR, Soren! Glad to see you had a great time.
  12. That combined with Connery's VERY accurate likeness made this my Caption of the Month.
  13. ^^ A zipper.
  14. QFT. And I WASN'T stalking, I merely took a picture from far away for reference in case I didn't see you again once I got through the gate! Wait... damn. Meeting new people really is one of the best aspects of TPR. Random TPR member sightings have made my whole day in the past (Soren at Epcot, Matt at MK) and Behemoth Bash still holds the personal title of "best day ever" due to finally meeting many of the people who make this great site what it is. (ERT didn't hurt, though!)
  15. ^The family in question participated in Wife Swap a couple of years back, and apparently they didn't exactly paint a picture of happiness... or reasonable sanity on the father's part. Anyway, not that this hasn't gotten enough needless face time, but the sheriff's department announced it was a hoax. So... yeah. Go about your daily lives, folks. The skies are safe.
  16. ^ At our school functions, I highly doubt it was acting.
  17. Couldn't agree more, though I had been to a few of them and aside from prom, they held no interest for me. Sure, I would slow-dance with a few of the girls I knew (and I actually knew a LOT), but the other 4 hours were akin to watching penguins awkwardly attempt to mate on the dance floor, which sort of makes you want to hang out by the chips the whole time. (Unless you get Morgan Freeman to narrate that s**t, in which case your school will soon get a $10,000 grant of Dandaman Fun Bucks.)
  18. Can you tell my friend was a bit bitter when she made this?
  19. Much to the chagrin of a lot of people I know, El Rio del Tiempo was redone to include more updated scenes, featuring the Three Callaberos trying to find Donald the whole time. I don't mind the change too much, though I do miss the main song.
  20. Chuck's postcard nearly made me launch popcorn out of my nose. (Yes, it was quite painful, but sooooo worth it.) HHN tomorrow will seriously ROCK for you guys, provided your respective Epcot hangovers are relatively mild.
  21. Like Rollercoaster Tycoon Beta with an awesome cartoon mascot?
  22. CyberSpace Mountain is sort of a fixed oil drum contraption, whereas Sum of All Thrills uses robotic arms to give a wider range of movement.
  23. The old design process looks like the love child of one of those WTF Arrow loopers and a jet coaster. Could you ride the old attraction as well, or was it just a design process? (Either way, seems impressive for the 80's.)
