If this is a tilt coaster I can only imagine the Gs in that roll... -

That unbanked turn is the best evidence for this being a spinner above anything else. -

They wanted a smooth ride. Dude Takabisha is one of the smoothest coasters I've ever ridden! Gerstlauer has been doing a great job lately and Mack did have some vibration problems on Alpina Blitz and Helix. Gerstlauer is generally pretty good but Kärnan had some rattling in the outer section. Helix was silky smooth when I rode it last year so I guess they fixed that issue? -

I would think soon. (Although now the park is closed the whole thing is very secretive unless they say we won't know). Last Monday rumour has it that trains were delivered. An admin on the Phantafriends forum says he saw a number of lorries enter the park. So I guess soon. As long as it's open by June I'm good. -

Any word on when they'll begin testing? The track itself has been finished for a while now. -

Kärnan.de has finally been updated with a look of what they've been doing during the holiday break. Also a recent article about the 2016 developments (Kleine Zar, the new chair swing ride and Kärnan) stated that Kärnan's theming likely won't be completed in time for the park's opening on March 24th due to the massive work still needed to be done. Apparently the tower alone will need over 200,000 bricks. For reference, here's how the whole thing will look when completed. Note the rock work in the outer section. -

I was asking about Heide Park. I had heard of the Alton/Chessington/Gardaland rumors before but Heide Park getting a major investment in 2017 is news to me. -

I've heard about Alton Towers plans being changed but this is the first I've heard about Heide Park. Any details on what the big investment will be? -

Supersonic Odyssey. One of the few coasters I didn't find some enjoyment from. Kanonen would be a distant second because Helix pretty much makes it obsolete (plus my last ride wasn't that comfortable). -

Your Home Park Lines
cookiex replied to Imagineer Josh's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Tivoli Gardens: (Any summer day or weekends during off-season) Rutschebanen - Always has a line since it's popular with families and lies very close to one of the park entrances (the one facing the train station), but thanks to a good throughput you'll rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes unless the park is especially crowded. Deamonen - Can go up to 20-25 minutes, depends on the day. Odinexpressen - If you get to the park early hit that one first, since the line will fill up quickly (by Tivoli standards, which is up to half an hour) and low capacity will keep it that way almost all day. Vertigo - Can go longer than 30 minutes if only one side operates (which I hear is more common in the off-season). Not that I'd want to go anywhere near that thing no matter the line. Hansa Park (Late-July/early August weekday) Nessie - Opens with the park and where most guests not heading straight for either Fluch or Kärnan would go first. Rarely gets more than a ten minute wait all day and that's with one train operation. Wildwasserbahn - 20-30 minutes in good weather, walk-on in bad weather. Rasender Roland - 15-20 minutes almost all day. Rio Dorado - 10-15 minutes before noon, up to 35 minutes after. Crazy Mine - Similarly to Rio Dorado although lets up around 5 P.M (one hour before closing). Schlange Von Midgard - At least 20 and up to 40 minutes all day due to low capacity. Fluch Von Novgorod - Opens around 9:30 A.M, although the queue line opens with the park so a line around 30 minutes has been built up by first dispatch. Maintains a 40-60 minute line all day up until closing. Schwur Des Kärnan (as of 2015) - Opens at 10 A.M but guests gather outside the entrance as soon as the park opens. Should be hit no later than 10 as lines above an hour start forming almost immediately after, then maintains 60 minutes plus all day. -

Seems to be the same model as Stampbanan at Liseberg. Should serve well as an entry-level coaster. -

I was made aware early on that tickets aren't included in the hotel fares, which is pretty stingy considering how costly the hotels are. I hear they extend the opening times if the park gets crowded enough. Is this a common occurrence or does the park need to be really packed in order for that to happen? -
Europa Park Discussion Thread
cookiex replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
From what I can find France doesn't have their summer break until early and Germany late July and there are no public holidays in early June. I was wondering how crowds would look on a typical June weekday. I'm currently looking at either Coloseo, Castillo Alcazar or El Andaluz. All three seem to be in the same price range and I should be able to afford a three-night stay. But out of curiosity, what are the best options in Rust? -

Any idea on how crowds look in early June? I'm saving money to go there between the 6th and 9th (I was originally thinking Phantasialand but seeing I had saved so much money and I wanted to go to Europa more I changed my mind) so I'm wondering if two days would be enough to get everything in (it should, but I'm asking anyway). Also, are their hotels worth staying in? Thanks. -

Thinking of going back to Liseberg when it re-opens next April, if not that then I'm heading to Phantasialand on June 6th for Taron. -

Jaws at USF. Next to Revenge of the Mummy it was my favorite ride in the park when I visited back in 2009. I'm sure Diagon Alley is great, but out of all the rides that they could kill for it... -
