  1. The original concept for Space Mountain (or Discovery Mountain as it was called) at DLP which was a massive complex that included Nautilus and a 1st-gen Intamin drop tower.
  2. Interesting that they decided to close down Rolando given that it's the only hotel they had in a lower price range. Hopefully the 2018 hotel could fill that gap.
  3. Looks like IMAscore is producing new tracks for Kärnan along with Kleine Zar and a new park entrance theme. A look at Kärnan's exit path:
  4. Actually that's the area they call "Holzfällerlager" (Lumberjack Camp). The Wild West area is to the north.
  5. Another new land perhaps? The area looks large enough for it.
  6. Wait, is Ireland the 2017 project or is that something else entirely? I haven't seen any construction of that yet.
  7. I hear rumors that the climate and the falling local currency are causing setbacks. Track for what seems to be an indoor flume ride seems to have been laid down at least.
  8. Seeing the crisp green paint on the new track is like a breath of fresh air after seeing the OG Hulk left to rust for so many years (I know they repainted it some years ago but there was a time the rust was truly awful). It'll be interesting to see what they do with the trains.
  9. Is this about the ratings you see on the ride lists in the Cedar Fair parks? I think they're taken straight from the park websites.
  10. As seen on the last page, the original restraints apparently looked like this, so you can sort of see how you can fall out from them. Interestingly the restraints on the promotional art better match those on Extremeroller at Worlds of Fun, minus the belts.
  11. So far not much has happened on the construction of the new rides outside of some digging near Nessie, although since they're smaller attractions they should go up quick once they go vertical. Torre Del Mar is still standing untouched, which is a bit odd since apparently El Paso Express was torn apart months ago (I saw pictures of the cars in the back lot back in November) Most of Kärnan's theming work is being done internally, so the exterior is not looking to be finished before the season starts. 12. I hope not since my trip to Phantasialand on June 6th hinges on Taron/Raik being open by then. I don't want to have to delay it into peak season.
  13. I don't know what looks worse, the horribly disfigured loop or the snap turn right after it. No wonder the car broke in half at the end.
  14. To be fair, how much of a view would there be from the top of Raik's lift? It's mainly backstage areas and whatever view you'll have of the park will be blocked by either Taron or River Quest. That could break the immersion.
  15. And that also means they're all competing with each other. Merlin has the UK all to itself when it comes to major parks. There's really no need to step up your game when you know the consumer has no good alternative. The only thing that would really shake things up would be if that Paramount Park in London gets off the ground. What's the current status on that btw?
  16. I wouldn't say Goliath, Viper or Beast are bad names (they all fit well when used with the right coasters), they're just overused. Coaster Express gets my vote. Both incredibly lazy and nonsensical.
  17. First artwork on the "Hanse-Fleiger" chair swing ride: The park map has also been updated to show where the two new rides will be placed. It appears that the "Russische Schaukel" ferris wheel will be removed to make way for Kleine Zar: Preparations are being made for Torre Del Mar's removal: And finally, a quick update on Kärnan's interior theming: Sources: Hansapark.de Coasterfriends.de
  18. There is a fairly large amount of people that think they should be allowed to carry firearms at theme parks, even though its likely just as bad of an idea as bringing them into a movie theater. But did the guy really think he could sneak in two firearms and a bullet case and they wouldn't notice/care, especially in a post-Paris environment?
  19. Parque Warner opened a water park two years ago so that might have something to do with the attendance spike. If I can get to Spain by 2017, I'll definitely go for both Warner and Port Aventura.
  20. I don't believe it to be a tilt coaster either. I'm just saying that Mack is still open to make more of them, whether they actually do depends entirely on whether or not there's any interest from the parks.
  21. Mack is still selling the E-Motion coaster going by their website. It even supports a launch option.
