  1. I wouldn't say that's necessarily true. We might not get the exact design that Herschend planned for if they don't purchase the park, but Predator does have issues and it will require work soon. As it is aging more and more, not only is the track getting rougher, but the structure is in need of a lot of work too. If Herschend doesn't end up getting the park, whoever does will have to have a plan for Predator, whether it be RMC, GCI, or any other coaster company that does woodies. I think I would be happy even if the current layout is preserved and redone with Topper Track. Predator would be a pretty highly praised coaster if it were smoother.
  2. I totally forgot about Gale Force. But that is extremely similar. You would think that they would want to create a completely different layout.
  3. But aren't they completely removing all track from the ride? At least that's what I've heard. Everything is still speculation, nobody seems sure what is really going to happen.
  4. Just thought I would bump this thread now that the season started again. I know we're just a few games in, but many teams are surprising me this year. Any thoughts on the new changes? (Challenges, 3 on 3, etc)
  5. ^I will probably go to see the sequel, but the plot doesn't intrigue me. They should just keep the cycle going of destroying and reopening the park with something else going wrong. Don't fix what isn't broke.
  6. ^Thanks for the info! I was about to go this past Sunday for my birthday with a group of friends, but decided against it due to there being a Sabres preseason game, and nobody had the food there before. I'm definitely looking to give it a shot soon, though.
  7. That sucks, but at least this coaster will still have some kick-ass airtime. ^^ That kind of looks like it could be Intamin's own version of Sky Rocket II. It will be interesting to see the cost and/or if any parks will build one.
  8. The only reason why I think it could be possible is that RMC said that they have indeed proposed it to a few parks, and there was even the one concept art from Six Flags for their proposed Batman design. Just because we have first heard of it a couple of months ago, doesn't mean that this idea could have been floating around for a while. Plus, why would Universal "reveal" to somebody that B&M was doing the refurb, then later say that on Twitter? If B&M was rebuilding the ride, what would be the big deal with revealing it? It's not like the ride is a "completely" new addition. I still think B&M will end up being the company behind the refurb, but this definitely is a little fishy.
  9. CNL still owns the park, and we all know what that means. It's likely still a proposed idea, but it won't happen till somebody willing to invest buys the park.
  10. Don't believe that the alleged "Universal Spokesperson" is true just yet. Universal said this on twitter earlier. For some reason I believe the RMC T-Rex track could also be a possibility here.
  11. I apologize if you did a full review before, but what was your general opinion of 716? I have been wanting to get there so bad, even my father got a "sneak preview" while he was working there when it was being built. Was the food worth the price, and is it generally a busy place? Off topic, but fun fact about the 36 foot long projector screen. The bulb for it only lasts a couple of months and they cost on the thousands range to replace. That still astonishes me.
  12. Superman:ROS is an interesting way to spell Millennium Force
  13. Most rides that lift up (Enterprises, UFOs, etc) don't go up the full 90 degrees anymore, it just isn't a Darien thing. The reason for it is that it puts less stress on the motors and it has a lot to do with safety too.
  14. Interesting that they didn't go with just Baynum, but I bet they will be completely booked with a project as big as TTD, and other parks as well. Million Painting probably has been hired for Raptor. They have done some big projects for Cedar Fair, as well as many other chains.
  15. Oktoberfest, Europa, and Holiday Park are 3 reasons why I have to make it out to Germany. Too bad we can't have something like Oktoberfest in America. But thousands of Americans and mugs of beer wouldn't be a good mix.
  16. Cool! I can't wait for the full report. Does RMC do the Europe show? I'll be interested to see what else they will reveal about the "T-Rex" concept.
  17. I think it's ironic that RCCA coasters were expensive, yet, most of them had skimpy and poorly designed structures. SoB originally cost over 20 million. That's a lot for a wooden coaster, even of that size. Intamin hypercoasters at the time were going for the same price or cheaper. You would think for something that large of an investment, there would at least be a correctly designed structure.
  18. I hope this track style is so loud that it makes B&Ms sound like whimpering puppies
  19. I definitely think that 2014 turned me away from Herschend a lot. Overall operations were horrible that year. The only new addition was the Nik Wallenda show, no attempt was made for two train ops, and they didn't even attempt to spruce up any paint, landscaping, or other infrastructure. I get they likely knew that they were on their way out that year, but they didn't control the budget. They definitely could have pushed CNL for at least something. Whereas Premier comes in this year, and right away, they announce two new attractions, painting and infrastructure were improved, and they started pushing for two train ops. Those things are big plusses in my books. Herschend did a great job, don't get me wrong, but Premier is proving to be a big challenger for them.
  20. If RMC were around earlier, this could have happened. Giving SoB Iron Horse treatment would have done wonders. It probably would have made the layout more interesting too. SoB didn't have too exciting of a layout, but neither did Colossus or Rattler, or Cyclone. But I think that CF is still waiting to see how the RMCs work out. Will they bring people into the parks for many years to come, will they age well, etc. I don't think it's as much of a risk anymore because look at how many top rating coasters were built now with no big incidents (excluding NTAG). It's probably a combination of RMC's scheduling and the general leaning towards an invert that lead to Banshee instead of a SoB rehab. SoB could have possibly been the most costly of the RMCs too because of the sheer size of the structure. So much work would need to be done to transform that big mess into crazy elements.
  21. My last trip to CP was made a lot better by their music/TVs. They play a good variety of music from all decades and the games were decent. The lines seemed a lot shorter than they were because of how well it was executed.
  22. I would prefer if the supports remained teal (I know they turned that way from fading), but any paint is good. Raptor is one of the first big coasters you see while entering, so it's good to keep it in tip top shape. I'm hoping that Dragster pops a little more too with a fresh coat.
  23. B&M: Really any stand ups. Mantis is gone, so I guess currently, Apocalypse. Intamin: For as long as I waited, Wicked Twister was pretty lame. GCI: Not a big fan besides a few coasters (Lightning Run is actually great), but Wildcat was too boring and rough for me. Roughness wouldn't be an issue if the ride had a great layout
  24. In your dreams.. B&M sells very expensive coasters. Four Renegades could be built for what Banshee cost. Not that I wouldn't love every park to build a B&M invert at some point, especially VF who deserves a good coaster to a kind of "meh" lineup, but because of how CF operates. The largest parks will get the largest investments, and sadly VF is lower on the chain. Lately they have been afraid to try new models, and have been sticking with the cookie cutter layouts and models proven to work. It's not exactly a bad thing, but there's so many models I wish that they would give a shot, especially the smaller parks.
