Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
dropzonefan replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Does anyone here think the finale may have something to do with fire effects, and possibly a drop like th13teen at Alton Towers?... Possibly during the fight with the dragon/beast, the floor falls through and you escape???... Idk, just guessing. -
La Ronde Discussion Thread
dropzonefan replied to Skyscraper's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The rollover makes sense... It did say in the ride description that riders rock/spin side to side. It should be interesting, rven if it's relocated, it'll be another great ride from Mondial in Canada (many have been built at Canada's Wonderland). And even if it's relocated, Mondial makes great rides, and should be similar enough to Tornado, which was removed a few years back, to provide some redemption for the lost top spin. The Zamperla suspended wind sheer would be sweet too, as ythe gondola can flip extremeply fast. -
Heide Park Discussion Thread

Wow! This ride looks incredible!... Hopefully with new rides like this, and previous rides like leviathan, it means that B&M are pushing the limits more, and are possibly entering a second golden age? -

Mdusa looks absolutely AMAZING! I can't imagine how great RMC's full steel coasters will be if they ever decide to make one. -
Why Do Parks Dumb Down Their Flats?
dropzonefan replied to ultradude306's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I always found that strange as well... Besides the reason mentioned above, I lso believe that many (not all) flats are billed more as family rides, whereS parks tend to build coasters and market the coasters to thrill rides. As for why fairs run their flats on crazy programs (IMO the way they're meant to run), is because they don't tend to be able to haul around large coasters (with the largest being Olympia looping). -

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
dropzonefan replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Had a pretty bad dream about Canada's wonderland. I was standing I. Line for wind seeker.. It was down or something, and I could see that Skyrider, the park's stand up coaster, had a really short line. Just as I turned to leave and get in line for the stand up, I heard a crashing noise and turned back to see the ride completely derail.. It was a scene llike something out of final destination. Just as I can't bare to look at the horrific scene any longer, I wake up... Ave had this dream a few times, and think of it every time I ride Skyrider. -
What was your first B&M Coaster?
dropzonefan replied to thrillseeker4552's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
First: Behemoth, also first hyper, and the ride that got me really into riding coasters as well as researching them. Giga: Leviathan Invert: Le Vampire (BTR clone) La Ronde, Montreal. Also, current favourite coaster. -
What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
dropzonefan replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Launchera used to scare the living s*** outa me until I finally worked up the nerve to ride one... Now I love them! For some reason inverts used to creep me out when I was young.. I don't really know why, probably due to the fact that that unlike a lot of big rides that travel far out away from where the park goes are, many inverts are compact, like SLCs and BTR clones (the type of inverts that happened to be at parks where I went to when I was young), and usually tower over you and are right there in your face. -
What's Your Opinion on High G Forces?
dropzonefan replied to dropzonefan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Onlyvgrayed out on one ride. Skyrider at Canada's Wonderland. A ride that might appear to suck, but is actually pretty kick @$$$ for a 30 year old Togo, being relatively smooth, and offering some crazy airtime as well as intense positive Gs.. -
Negative Gs on public transport/cars
dropzonefan replied to spinning man's topic in Random, Random, Random
Elevators usually make me lose my stomach when they defend quickly, but for some strange reason coasters and most rides I don't. The only rides where I' lose my stomach/get butterflies are drop towers. -
What I've noticed is,since ride nerds/enthusiast or whatever you wanna call it, isn't the typenof nerd that'll go mainstream like superhero movie needs, we all better get used to dating FP... Actually, now that I think about it, I'm not sure if I'd want to date an enthusiast anyway. However, knowing more enthusiasts in general in my area would be great.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
dropzonefan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, it seems to me that the ride seems to have a nice buildup to it, with some nice big, full throttle esque hang time inducing inversions, building up to the wickid fast/intense elements. -
Well, most of us here love airtime, but I've heard some complaints on various boards, including this one, about high g forces, mostly due to things like grey/black outs. Personally, I like a good amount of g forces on rides, with some of my favourite flats and coasters pulling upwards of 4-5g, such as BTR clones, the Mindbender (Edmonton Mall, Alberta, Canada), and chance zipper rides, where durring multiple flips, the g forces can get pretty extreme. So, what's your opinion?

Thank you for the info... Wonder how many one off rides Fabri made (ie. this, hard rock etc.). Also very interesting to se that another company's keys a legit version of this. Do you know what park/showman owns it, and what happened to the Fabri version in the vid I posted above (that vid was shot 3 years ago). After hunting around some more, I found an onride vide. It shows just how god darn intense, and, as Alvey would say, kick@$$, this ride is... From the onride perspective, the ride seems almost like it combines the best of a capriolo and (dive booming at the ground, and being able to unlock /lock the gondola), and a zipper/topspin (able to do multiple flips extremely quickly, as demonstrated in the vid below)
