  1. I've seen this Waterslide at a few parks, and all over youtube. Does anyone know the manufacturer/history of this ride? Here's a video of the particular slide type in action: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCoQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DSv4tNdm9Cao&ei=mMXoUYeUAbiu4AOkioGQCQ&usg=AFQjCNFXzQw_ITdDr91Mz_-JEIwnHQcETA
  2. I'm pretty sure the Minebuster and Wild Beast were made by PTC, but I could be wrong. But yes, a lot of woodies (at least older ones) seem to be made in house.
  3. ^ I perfectly understand your point about parks not allowing you to film on rides, no matter the size of the ride/park..*HOWEVER* a carnival is coming to my town in about two weeks, where I personally know employees who can allow me access to film.
  4. Lol 9/10... The parts that are written in black are kinda hard to read... But still awesome!
  5. Well, as for the people who say fairs and carnivals are unsaf, I will agree that they aren't the safest places, but at my local fair, the ops actually respect me for being an enthusiast, and the rides seem well enough maintained, considering they travel all over the province. As for times I felt unsafe, I had a near identical story to the person who posted about the round up early on in the thread. I always seem to feel very unsafe on Zamperla Volares... I've felt safer on a zipper than on those poor excuses for flyers.
  6. Well, I guess it's kind of like the B&M or Intamin debate, where both companies have their pros/cons, but, but in the end ate both great. As I said in my previous post, I've managed t experience more of Whitewater's slides, however, pros life has some ride-types that look absolutely stellar! As a person who likes my slides nice and intense, what are some of the slides I should check out first by proslide?
  7. According to the link that was in the last post, the final section of the ride is being built.. hopefully we'll get to see the ride in action soon.
  8. I understand what has been said here, but what I'm wondering is, if you do get permission from the right people/authorities (for example, in your vids), or if its a smaller park/carnival that doesn't have rules on this sort of thing, how would you actually go about mounting the camera on the ride? Do you use a special mount, or put the camera on a certain place on the ride? Also, for gopros, is there any way to improve the audio quality with a special microphone or something, and if so, what mic do you recomend?
  9. Havent really rode rides multiple times in a row, but i once I rode a zipper with a friend of mine for at 10 minutes straight, with us being the only two people on the ride, and with the op lining our cage up by starting and stopping the ride to make it extremely intense... After the ride was over, ending in a grand finale of about 20 or so flips in a row, the carnie coughs our cage and held it upside down with the help of the other op, finally turning the cage right dide up and letting us off after about another minute. Needless to say, neither me nor my friend could walk straight for the rear of the day.
  10. So, which company is better? Personally, although I've ride more of Whitewater's slides, i am also a huge fan of proslide, as their HQ is about 5 hours from me, and I hope to work for then someday (Although working in Vancouver working for Whitewatee and living in one of those million dollar houses would be great too)... Anyway, I'm undecided.
  11. Ya, it was similar to me... The rides were fascinating because of their size/speed, but that's also what made them so intimidating to me as a kid.
  12. The Ultra Twister is suprisingly smooth, but very intense. (There is a bit of jolt when it backs in the chain lift, though.) It's one of the craziest rides I've ever encountered. Well, that's great to hear.. Don't mind if its really intense either.. Bring it on!... Would love to ride it someday.
  13. Instead of that sideways bank before the break run on I305, put a full heart line roll/inversion?... I360 Anyone?!?!?? lol
  14. ^Ya... Tht probably wouldn't be a good idea lol.. Also couldn't go on and brag too much about the park in the city where pros life's hq is, as its built by their biggest rival, Whitewater lol. If u wanna talk more about all the career stuff, feel free to PM me.
  15. ^ That's awesome. Hopefully for me, with a major ride company (Proslide) in my home province, I can pull my math grades up and lice the dream myself... Also, with proslide designing water rides and not coasters, hopefully it'll mean I can ride anything I want on my own time (whereas if I worked for, say, B&M, I might get in trouble if I rode TTD while on vacation, as that ride's made by their their arch rivals).
  16. Retract all of Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland and put timber liners or millennium flyers... Or just RMC the damn thing. Also... Isn't really a coaster, it's a flat, but hey Chance Rides, why not make a modernized, bigger, better more intense and bad@$$ ride out of the zipper? One that would could be equally as popular at parks as it is on the carnival scene? It would be amazing!
  17. I have to say about the age of 9, when I accidentally pushed the wrong button on google during a computer class, and found out about SFMM. Ever since then, I was obsessed, but I was still quite scared of the larger rides at parks, and mainly still rode family coasters, only researching the giant rides of the world. That all changed when I was about 13, on a school trip to Canada's Wonderland. I was pressured by my friends to ride Behemoth (the largest ride in the park at the time). I was terrified, but accepted, and strapped myself into the comfortable, yet very open feeling B&M mega coaster trains, and pulled out of the station... I loved the ride, and stayed on for another 3 laps, two of them in the front row. Ever since then, I'll ride pretty much every ride I see.
  18. Definitely a strange coaster. Ya, those Hopkin's coasters seem to look almost like schwartzkoph coasters on crack lol
  19. Have to say riding Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland.. So painfully.. It's actually quite sad, as if the ride wasn't so rough it would be great, as it's filled with airtime.
  20. Here's another one... Not so much a coaster element, but certianly a weird coaster in general.
  21. Wwll, here's someone who.really wanted to push a ride to its max... I've experienced this myself, and let me tell you... You most likely wont be able to stand after a 15 minute Zipper ride with a crazy op like in the vid below, but it's hella worth it!
  22. I want to love them. Terrified. Put it in the dark, ok... Hollywood ToT, I can handle that... but out in the open air? Ugh. Something about it. And I've been on some pretty big coasters, I'm a CP, SFGAm and KI vet... but our first trip to KD is just weeks away. And I'll tell you what... I305 is scaring the duke out of me. I can't wait. Idk... Heights are kind of scary, but certianly not my biggest fear... My thoughts are that after a certianly height (about 50-100' or so) it kinda stoops getting scary, as past that height, you're pretty much doomed if you fall, so adding more height doesn't really do much.. Only prolongs the time you have to wait to hit the ground if you fall lol.
  23. ^LOL HAHAHAHAHA The video for that ride on TPR's channel is hilarious!... Does it really kick as much @$$ as much as the video says it does?.... And how smooth is it? Ok.. Getting on topic now... Also found the trick track on the Skyrider/King Cobra stand up coasters to be pretty weird, withe the Skyrider one making you feel like you'll hit the fence on your left.. Also, although I've never rode it, I always thought the double up on Reverchon spinning coasters looked pretty crazy (anyone experienced it themselves?)
  24. ^That sounds really sketchy.. As for me, the only rides that still scare me are drop towers (still love them though ), the older more ghetto looking rides at fairs (even though a lot of the carnies at my local fair actually are quite nice and seem to maintain the rides quite well) and skycoasters (even though they say there's never been an accident on one, I still don't trust that ride... If you can call it a ride lol).
