  1. ^ 10/10 Very Very true... that's what all the good theming is when you think about it. Nice colour choice too.
  2. ^Domt forget the return of inverting woodies!... 2013's gonna go down in history as the year of great ride revivals
  3. ^I will... Goin for all the virtual credits baby! Also wondering how accurate the park/rides are... It sounds like the game devs, rockstar, talked to actual gangsters and cops to get info, as well As spent time in LA. Did any of you enthusiasts get calls from rockstar ? Lol
  4. Just took a screenshot of the GTA 5 opener, after noticing an amusement park. It doesn't look like it'll be SFMM as some people hoped , but rather a smaller boardwalk park. Does anyone who's played the game know anything more about the park in the game? Here's the screenshot:
  5. I second this one, I think it was originally spec'd at 6Gs?! So glad to see that people like the Mindbender... Pretty sure the Gs (according to RCDB) are just a little over 5. (Never greyed out on it though for some reason, yet i nearly greyed on a BTR clonr this year, and on Skyrider, a TOGO standup that only hits like 4G. Also, I believe that it's one of the tallest Schwarzkopf loopers, and certainly the only one of this size indoors. Anyway, regardless if the facts/stats, this ride is amazing and makes me VERY proud to be Canadian. On another note, I've beenhearing many good things about the shuttle loops, however, from off the ride, they really don't seem to be all too intense compaired to modern launchers, or even other types of Schwarzkopfs. Does anyone know just how forceful the shuttle loops are (in terms of how many GS)?
  6. Would probably ride it... Seems very intense, and is a great part of Canadian ride history... For once this country was on top of the coaster world, with a ride that matched even the speed and intensity of today's great woodies.
  7. Probably Vampire at La Ronde, a BTR clone that offers great views of the St. Lawrence River and Montreal.
  8. I've always heard some great things about that ride, but I haven't found much footage of it... You know of any vids of the ride in its original state?
  9. I was recently watching a youtube Comedy series called the online gamer. For those of you who don't know, it's a series on youtube about a guy who's crazy adicted to Xbox/cod, and him trying to fit in with other gamers and live everyday life. After watching a few episodes, I got the Idea of maybe TPR possibly doing something like a mini-series like this (but with rides) on it's youtube channel. If it works, and they could fit in some jokes for enthusiasts as well as GP (sort of like in the online gamer.. It's funny for gamers/non-gamers alike). It could be something funny to watch in between coaster POVs on TPR's YT channel Here's an example of an episode of the online gamer for those who haven't seen thecseries: So, what do you guys think of this idea... Is it. Just crazy?... You think it might work?... Let me know, a d who knows, maybe someone will make it for the TPR YT channel.
  10. So, what's the craziest, most intense Schwarzkopf you've ridden? For me, it has to be the Mindbender at Galaxyland in the West Edmonton Mall, in Canada. Not only was it intense, with the positive Gs putting even BTR clones to shame, but it was also glass smooth, possibly smoother than some B&Ms. The Mindbender's easily near the top of my list for my favourite steel coasters.
  11. How was Goliath at La ronde compaired to Behemoth?... I've been on Behemoth, and am going to La Ronde in like a week. Goliath at La Ronde simply has more hills, but lacks the speed and duration of airtime in hills. Also, the V style seating on Behemoth gives it an edge. As someone who went to La Ronde and Wonderland last year, I have to say that I actually like Goliath better. I found there were less trims, and enjoyed alot of some of the strange shaped hills near the end of the ride, as they provided some pretty interesting forces in the back row. Also thougt the sorta double down into the breaks was kinda cool. As for my favourite B&M coaster type, I've gotta go with inverts... I like my rides smooth and intense, so this ride type's right up my alley! On that trip to la ronde last year, Le Vampire, the other B&M in the park, Blew Goliath out of the water. IMO, hypers are fun, but if you want a smooth and intense ride, inverts, esprcally rides like BTR clones, are the way to go. While on the topic of inverts, really looking forward to see how Banshee turns out at KI. I'd love to see B&M make a comeback and start building intense rides again, and maybe banshee will be it.
  12. ^Guilty as charged lol haha... Also, if you ghope it isn't run down like the Coney Island spoof from GTA4 haha
  13. ^that's assassins! I have a few friends who have kinda concerted over to enthusiasts. I find I've ones who have seen to already be hardcore into something else, usually gaming. It makes sense now that I think about it. If they have that strong passion for something they enjoy already, some of that mindset probably varies over to rides.
  14. Find any large ride, esprcally inverts, that are right next to the midway looming above you to be very intimidating looking B&Ms also look very nice in general... Can't think of too many that I don't like the look of.
  15. Even if the special effects aren't on parvwith the rides you mentioned, I have a feeling the "coaster" portion will make up for it... It's a good 6 stories high according to the announcement, so it must have some decent stuff in there.
  16. Knowing how CF's been treating wonderland for the past 5 years or so, we've gotten it pretty good, and they seem to know what they're doing. Knowing they have boo blasters, I really think this will be a step up, and as many people said, just plain cool! The worst it can get is if it's as much a letdown as windseeker, which IMO, although not the best ride invented (enjoyed the star flyers a bit more), was a decent ride.
  17. ^so true... CP's rides look amazing!... Might go there next year, so pumped! 9/10
  18. Considering they're not using steel wheels, I 'm guessing they're using the topper track so they can break the woodie records and not have to build another El Toro (guessing RMCs cost less than Intamins).
  19. Was just talking with a few friends about some of the new rides that were announced this past week... Wish I knew more people in my area who were into this stuff lol.... So much explaining, lots of facepalm worthy moments durring that discussion.
  20. 10/10... Awesome color, and all kick@$$ rides listed
  21. Well, now that I think about it, the two of everything deal isn't just at this park... It seems like it's something that's spreading to other parks now too.. Ednor and Vampire at La Ronde, Behemoth and Leviathan at Canada's Wonderland, the two drop towers at Grona Land et. Anyway, Helix looks way better than Kannonon, as many people have stared, and I can't wait to see how it turns out!... Who knows, maybe they'll sell Kannonon if people stop riding it after Helix opens... Hopefully it'll find it's way over to a smaller park in North America if that happens lol
  22. Well, maybe this will be a brand new ride, instead of the used ones this park always gets. Even though it might not be the absolute best ride out there, I'm happy to see a topspin style ride come back to La Rondr after Tornado's removal 3 years ago.
  23. I''m really sorry if this question sounds stupid, but what's with this park and having two of everything?... They have two drop towers, and now two launchers?... Sure, Helix looks incredible, but why would they bother building it at a park that already has an intamin rocket coaster?
  24. So, with all these rides being announced at this time of year, I was wondering, what you guys think was the ride announcement that shocked you the most?... It doesn't matter if it's from this year or not. Personally, i found the announcement of Goliath at SFGAm was pretty surprising. We knew it'd probably be an RMC, but It's crazy how they can fit it in such a small footprint, and relatively soon after a major addition like X Flightt ... Can't wait to see how the ride turns out, and wonder how people will like it conpairrd to outlaw run. So, what do you guys think?
  25. Well, from what I've seen, if run right, the rollover should be pretybintense.
