  1. 2018 map? Where? On the 2017 map Mt. Slide Hai is pictured as normal.
  2. If they did make it free this year it would seem that the park would be expected to issue refunds to people that own season and/ or dining passes to both parks. They could always just make it free and tell you that you are out of luck if you bought both, but that would not be very classy. I would expect an upgrade fee option this year, and possibly the typical combo pass pricing structure they have at other parks for next year.
  3. Exciting News! Just to make sure everyone remembers though, North America includes the US, Canada, and Mexico. (And Greenland) So every time the company says North America just keep that in mind.
  4. It would not surprise me if they decide to wait till after derby to make the announcement so that it does not get overshadowed by Kentucky's largest annual tradition. If they are spending money on a new roller coaster they are going to want it to get the publicity it deserves.
  5. Looks like Cedar Fair is really trying to use their "regional branding" strategy on this park to make it uniquely Canadian. That landscaping coupled with the new park logo that includes the Canada Maple Leaf look to be a great start!
  6. I don't care where it's going. There's an RMC Raptor coming out soon and that's the greatest news ever.. Watch your words carefully. For all we know it could be going to China.
  7. Do you all know what crowds are usually like on Easter Day?(particularly the first couple hours the park is open)
  8. Hey you guys, Cedar Fair is actually trying a bit of theming for once. We should applaud their efforts if anyone ever wants to see more than concrete and coasters at their local CF park again. This is the one thing that many have asked them to do for so long, so to critique them now would be talking out of two sides of your mouth. I give them a giant A for effort and personally think it looks quite good.
  9. Hey guys, I was not sure where to ask this but does a Cedar Fair platinum dining pass work at Gilroy Gardens? I know the pass works for entry as per the website, but I could not find any information about the dining pass. Thanks
  10. Boats and Skyrides. There, I said it.
  11. Also, anyone know more about Sand Serpent? I really hope it does not become yet another standing but not operating ride for the rest of eternity. On the list it says it is closed January 2nd to "to be determined". Well, I hate to say it but it is already almost April. They probably do not want to either fix it or run it now that they have another family coaster in Cobras Curse.
  12. I am actually more disappointed about this apparently being the last year for Mt. Slide Hai. Those slides are some of the best old-school tube slides I have ridden with lots of sharp, small drops that make you loose your stomach for a split second. This is something that every new tube slide I have been on seems to lack, the new slides just gently slope downwards the entire ride more often than not. But, I am also glad to see all of the improvements that are being done and cannot wait to hear about the upcoming plans next month. I also really like the new pathway and what they have done with opening up Thunder Run more by putting up more see-through fences to give it much more of a visible presence in the park.
  13. The skyride is always undergoing "Scheduled Maintenance", lets just say I have never actually seen a single person working on it. I think it is just a lot of money for them to staff, especially with that transfer station in the middle. Heck in the last 8 months it has probably been open max 2 months in total at most. It was not even open during about 90% of Christmas Town, which would have been perfect to see all the Christmas lights, especially since it is the only family above-ground ride sightseeing ride in the park.
  14. ^Did they happen to mention if they would be taking out the lazy river that surrounds the waterslides too, or just the slides?
  15. ^So in other words Disneyland's Rocket Rods?
  16. I think they will complete RMC Mean Streak and run a few test cycles. Then just to troll us all they will tear down the entire thing and put the Boomerang from Knotts in its place. That would literally be the most hysterical thing to ever happen, imagine how many but hurt fanboys there would be, they might start a riot.
  17. ^It would also give the park its only traditional vertical loop, something that I personally believe every park should have at least one of.
  18. Say hello to your "new" ride of the decade MIA. Maybe in 2028 you will get a slightly better used ride. '88 - Wolverine Wildcat '98 - Shivering Timbers '08 - Thunderhawk '18 - Boomerang It makes all too much sense. HaHa- In all seriousness I like to think more highly of Cedar Fair than to re-locate an old boomerang, especially since I thought I remembered hearing reports that the current execs do not like rotating rides. However, I would not be surprised in the least if it moved to a park like MIA, as realistically for them it is likely this or nothing.
  19. ^I cannot tell from the pictures, but did they remove the games that used to be in front of Superman?
  20. We all know that Six Flags list price is bs. I guess if we are going by list price a Magic Mountain Gold Pass is $250 dollars also, but I doubt there is a single day of the year when that is the cheapest price a Gold Pass is being offered before the passes for the next year are already on sale which include the rest of the previous year. My point was only that the Busch Gardens season Quick Queue seems like a very poor deal for the consumer.
  21. ^Full price is $799, but right now on their website they are selling them for $499. Like with the season passes, I doubt they ever actually get to full price, there is always one sale or another. Plus Magic Mountain has a much longer operating season and theirs is good for FF and HITP.
  22. I don't know if this has been posted on here yet, but BGW has jumped on the bandwagon of offering a season long fast pass. They call it the Ultimate Thrills Quick Queue. However, it is by far the most expensive in the industry at $555, and it does not even include Hallowscream or Christmas Town. I honestly wonder how many of these they sell. You would have to use it about ten times to be more economical than just buying single day Quick Queue unlimited passes, and I honestly cannot see someone needing one that many times. Maybe if you can only come to the park during weekends and you come nearly every weekend in the summer this makes sense? However, I just read the fine print and it says pass members get a special rate by logging into the pass member website. So maybe the $555 is only the price if you have the fun card and it is a bit cheaper if you have the annual pass?
  23. ^But just like the argument that Disney should not add another track to Toy Story or another theater for Soarin, I would rather see KK spent the money that could be spent on a transfer track for Thunder Run on a cool flat ride or put the money towards getting their next coaster quicker. A new ride still increases park capacity, but offers a new and unique experience. I am sure the park could have put a second train on Thunder Run, but it probably would have been a similar amount as the Larson super loop they are getting this year. By getting the Super Loop instead, they still receive a likely comparable park capacity boost, but over two experiences instead of one. Plus there is the fact that I have never gone to KK when the line for TR is longer that 30 mins, and I go a lot!
  24. ^Don't get your hopes up. SFOG has two Joker themed coasters. I think SF would be perfectly content just plopping another free spin down with the same name and theme as the others, especially when the only other Joker ride at the park is a swinging ship. All this is of course if the park is lucky enough to even get a free spin or any sizeable coaster in the near future which still remains to be seen, but I would not hold my breath. Considering SF was happy to give Great Adventure the Joker coaster and market it as a marquee addition, in my view SFSTL would be considered extremely lucky to get the same kind of treatment. The fact is that based on current trends, Six Flags just does not do massive coasters anymore and they seem to be completely content with it, at least for the time being.
  25. So I guess if we connect the dots the only logical thing is that SFMM is taking out Viper and replacing it with only a Larson Loop?
