This comes from the FAQ on Busch Gardens website. "Will there be a limited-time sale for discounted tickets this year? Yes, we will have a discounted Christmas Town Single-Day Ticket ONLINE-ONLY offer from November 4-17, 2019 with prices as low as $22.99. After the limited-time sale ends, prices will be available starting as low as $24.99 and will continue to increase each day up to a maximum of $54.99 online." The day I want to visit is currently listed at $34.99. Should I buy the tickets now or should I wait? I was a bit confused by the "After the limited-time sale ends, prices will be available starting as low as $24.99 and will continue to increase each day up to a maximum of $54.99 online." I just want to be sure I won't be able to get that $24.99 price for ANY day once the sale is over. Any help would be appreciated!

This is taken from the San Diego Union Tribune. When talking about Gus’ “disagreements in decision making with the board of directors” I’d be willing to be that this view right here was a large portion of the contention. His likely had a greater more long term view for the parks that included beefing up and modernizing the animal exhibits where as the board likely wanted to follow the strategy of more rides and less animals. Animals, insists SeaWorld CEO Gus Antorcha, are central to both the business model of the company and its mission, and that will not change. In fact, he would like to see them emphasized even more. “Animals are absolutely core to the experience of SeaWorld,” Antorcha said last week in his first interview with a reporter since joining the theme park company four months ago following Manby’s departure. “Animal experiences make us unique, and the other competition doesn’t have that. Yes, we’ve been adding more roller coasters but they’re all linked back to education and conservation. If you look more broadly, we’re trying to make sure a family will have a great day at the park, and thrill rides done the way SeaWorld does them help round out that experience.”

So the big question of the night. Will Spanos continue the cheesy video precedent set by Jim Reid Anderson? If I had to guess I’d say no. -

From what I hear Dallas was more of an indoor park and faced some competition. Indoor parks/entertainment centers don't have a great track record in this industry. (Six Flags Power Plant, Six Flags Autoworld, Disneyquest etc.) -

I mean it really is genius. Every kid wants to go see elmo and big bird. And the fact that they can charge the same price as full scale theme parks when this entire park conversion is probably going to cost about the same as Mako at SWSD is kind of genius. -

I think, if this is successful, that Aquatica > Sesame Place San Antonio could be the next move. Texas has a large and growing population of families and it would be unique to the region and there are no IP based children's parks there where as Florida and Cali have Legoland, Disney etc. Also central Texas already has enough dedicated water parks with Schlitterbahn and Fiesta Teexas's waterparks not to mention others in Dallas and Houston too. I think if they are looking to print the money that is the next move. -

Very Strange Indeed. Judging By the concept art it still appears to be more than 65% water park still as well. But there are two things that I know are popular: water parks and sesame street. Maybe the intersection of the two will print money. But Keeping the Tornado slide and the body slides do seem to kind of go against the demographic just a little bit. And I cant imagine this park attracting teens and young adults anymore like Aquatica does. -

I love watching massive steel erections. -
Also I don’t know if y’all are crazy or what but Cedar Fair is NEVER letting Michigan’s Adventure out of its grip. The ENTIRE reason Kinzel even had any interest in MIA to begin with is to make sure Six Flags or another operator didn’t get its hands on it and do to it what they didn’t to Geauga Lake. (I.e. build a ton of rollercoasters and significantly start to compete with Cedar Point for the metro Detroit market). Kinzel protected cedar point like it was his child and FUN still has a lot of that view. That’s why MIA gets little expansion when a bit of growth might be possible there because any further growth would be carving out more of Cedar Point’s turf. Heck cedar point even started marketing in Chicago which is south and west of MIA and MIA is actually closer to Chicago than Cedar Point is to Chicago. I would bet some significant change that nobody from Chicago has ever seen a Michigan’s adventure advertisement.

^They have a ride list up and I believe all major coasters are operating EXCEPT Vortex and Nighthawk! Most everything else in the park is open, plus whatever activities will be had for the peanuts celebration that goes on at that time as well. -
It’s kind of aggravating that they refused to promote John Reilly to give the position to Antorcha, so he left. Now Gus leaves and they are left completely empty handed! I really wonder what the difference of approach was. If it was related to the direction of the parks (and whales/animals) or if it was unrelated entirely.

^I don't think Six Flags has the licensing to add DC characters to Darien Lake. I have heard that due to the re-acquisition it would be on a per-park basis and cost them extra to add back SFDL. I recall hearing that attendance doesn't justify that cost right now. I know I have no credible source for this, but it seems to be logical enough. Also it is corroborated by the fact that there are currently no rides in DL with DC and that they use the "Go fast pass" as opposed to the Flash Pass. If they had the rights to use the Flash, I cannot think of any logical reason they would have chosen not to. This could change in the future, but this seems to be how it is for the time being, apparently.

Also considering the fact that six flags great adventure had its summer weeknight hours cut from 10 to 9:30, this doesn’t surprise me at all. There are currently no six flags parks that are open until 10pm on summer weeknights, it even Six Flags Magic Mountain. It does not shock me that this change was made considering the attendance is much less at Darien Lake compared to some of the bigger parks that have worse hours.

Keep in mind that the year Kings Island installed Banshee was also the same year that Kentucky Kingdom had its grand reopening, which drew over 600,000 visitors that season. Many of those guests in Louisville might have opted to go to Kings Island instead had Kentucky Kingdom not been a closer and more affordable option with a new coaster of their own, potentially being a contributing factor to the relatively flat year-over-year attendance at Kings Island that season. Not the whole story by any means, but just a theory I thought I would throw out there. As for Mystic Timbers, I think it is just really hard to successfully market a traditional gimicless wooden coaster in the modern age and create enough buzz.

^The teaser video clearly uses the word “coaster”. Falcons fury is not a roller coaster even by people that use that term in the most liberal of ways. Seaworld made it very clear that we should 100% be expecting a roller coaster. -
To whoever made the argument about SFDL having a large market you made some good points. I would, however, just like to add that the state of New York was one of only nine stayes in the country to lose population between 2017 and 2018, according to the US Census Bureau. Meanwhile places like Texas, Florida, and the Carolinas just keep going up and up. I also see Six having trouble competing with Wonderland to steal an even larger portion of their market then they already have. Not saying it’s impossible, just not something that can be done when one park installs the largest dive coaster in the world and the other puts up a skyscreamer, in my opinion.

I feel like this project has kind of become old news before it even opened. Also there is usually a reason they don’t open new rides in October. I’m sure it will be popular though and I sure hope it helps this park but I’m not going to count on it. -

Watch this new ride be a sky coaster! I doubt it but it would make a lot of sense. -
