  1. Woah! They certainly are doing a lot of new work on that turn, especially after doing an entire re-track after the park first opened. That construction is so heavy I almost thought that it was Mistic Timbers construction that you posted in the wrong thread!
  2. Just someone who enjoys T3 every once in a while passing through. That's ok we are all entitled to our opinions but I think most would agree that it is better than having literally nothing in it's spot. Also although the ride experience leaves something to be desired it is still fairly popular from what I have seen.
  3. I'm sorry, but is it wrong that I literally laughed out loud when you used the term "video evidence?" There mere suggestion (joke) that there will be no coaster set off such an entertaining chain reaction of just a couple posts that it may only be trumped by an announcement which I pray to God is filled with a new kiddie ride section, buy one-get one free coupons, and a mediocre fireworks display for the entire month of July, 2017. If there is no coaster announcement in the Spring it will be... the perfect storm. Kentucky Kingdom cannot do a fireworks show because of the airport flight path. People asked on their Facebook page last Forth of July and they gave that reason as to why they would not be having fireworks to celebrate. I know you were being sarcastic but I thought I would just set something straight.
  4. 1. (Start watching at the 10 minute mark for the extremely heavy and obvious coaster hint) 2. (Start watching at 5:45 for the future RMC project statement)
  5. ^ It is not really jumping to conclusions. There is video evidence that either 2018 or 2019 will include a roller coaster based on the Kentucky Kingdom no coaster con presentation. There is also a video of Ed Hart himself saying (after Storm Chaser had already opened might I add) that they were "looking at another coaster with Rocky Mountain".
  6. ^They own some parts of the park and lease others. For example the entrance side of the road is all leased, but a good portion of the water park side is land that they own.
  7. That is a really cool picture! The parks always look so great around the holidays. Also, isn't that water park in Oaxtepec supposed to open up in just over a month? I remember they originally touted a February opening but I certainly haven't heard much about it recently. The animation was released a while back but as of now the website is not even working! You would think that if they want to open at some point in February they would want to make day tickets available for sale pretty soon.
  8. ^ Skycatcher was made by A.R.M. Rides.
  9. ^ It seems good in theory, but the location of the break run would require a transfer track directly on top of a major park midway. If they wanted to add a transfer track they would have to re-route the pathway and extend the break run of the ride. This could literally make an already somewhat confusing layout a complete cluster. This would also be very costly for what is honestly just a good coaster in a park that has two fantastic ones. Not to mention that there would be nothing to market about it. I think the new train was bought because they figured they would have to replace it in the semi-near future anyway, so they might as well do it now so that guests can start enjoying a semi smoother and better ride experience.
  10. And actually, just to let everyone know, KK did 800,000 visitors for the 2016 season. 1 million does not seem to be too far off, especially with all of the infrastructure improvements and the rumored new coaster coming in 2018 (or less likely 2019). https://www.kentuckykingdom.com/kentucky-kingdom-sets-attendance-record/
  11. This addition looks great! I think it will be a hit with the GP and will bring the number of inverting flat rides to 3, which is pretty impressive for a small park. Also the improvements sound like they will really improve guest experience. Also, the 2017 operating calendar was posted online. Still no long-awaited halloween event. Oh well, maybe next year. Also it appears as if they will only be open weekends during the state fair next year, so be careful if you are planning a KK trip in August. This park is a great community asset for the city of Louisville and it is very well received. All of these new additions and the new direction the park is heading in are more than worth not having your home park for four summers!
  12. They already tried Holiday in the Park at Great Escape in 2009. They said that while the event was well received by the public, it did not end up being profitable enough for them to do another year. Great Escape if a family park that has the perfect demographics to support a HITP, so if it did not work there, it likely will not work at SFNE either. Of course, Great Escape was also Mark Shapiro's favorite park, so it could have just been cancelled when the new management came in, but i've got to imagine that if it was making any real money at all, it would have been kept.
  13. In this video, beginning at the 22 minute mark, Dick Kinzel finally fesses up to the real reason Cedar Fair bought Geauga Lake. As suspected, they did not want someone else to buy the property to make it a big competitor for Cedar Point. It is interesting how he finally admitted it. Skip to minute 22 for part about Geauga Lake. He talks about it again at 28.
  14. ^ It is because this park is in Mexico City, not on the coast like a cruise port/ tourist area. Also, it does not rely on foreign visitors to sustain its business. Only us theme park nerds would go to this park versus one in our own country, so they likely get very few visitors that speak English. Most tourists that spend time and money to go to Mexico do not go to Six Flags. It is simply not worth the park's while to hire people who can speak English. This is also the reason why this park does not even have a webpage in English, but all the US parks have one in Spanish.
  15. And why was Six Flags Great America's carousel on the list of best carousels, but not California's? They are the same carousel right?
  16. It is sad that they had to revert to calling the ride a first of its kind for THE PARK. Is that the only way they could try to make it sound unique? Of course it is a first of its kind at the park, they are not going to install two of the same rides!
  17. Does anyone know what time (of day) this announcement will be made?
  18. If you combine this with the tornado slide that got removed from Knotts, there are a couple of good slides up for grabs now. Also, I cant help but wonder if this is related to the rumored debt coming due that Cedar Fair has.
  19. Wildwater Kingdom bites the dust. This comes from Wildwater Kingdom's official website. Webpage link: https://www.wildwaterfun.com/media-center/wildwater-kingdom-update
  20. ^ Perfect response. I burst out laughing. It is even funnier when you try to pronounce it how it is spelled.
  21. https://www.cedarpoint.com/what-s-new/cedar-point-shores-water-park New addition site is up!
  22. A lady who was at Six Flags Great Adventure from Maryland told my that her home park, SFA, was better than SFGAdv.
  23. ^Thanks, what a great deal. They never specified unlimited, so I thought there might be some kind of catch. It just seemed too good to be true!
  24. If anyone who went to the park this last weekend bought season passes early when they included free drinks, could you tell me how that worked. Was there a limit? What was the size? Etc...
