  1. Looking at the weather report in Louisville, it looks like it is supposed to rain basically all day Saturday and Sunday. Kind of a bummer for KK's opening weekend and Storm Chaser's public debut.
  2. The 2016 map is up on the website now.
  3. ^Ed hart has stated before that, while he owns an amusement park, he does not enjoy riding roller coasters. I'm pretty sure he did not ride Lightning Run and I doubt he will ride this. How ironic right?!
  4. I like how they literally got the best ride they could afford, and did not waste a penny more on things like fancy custom trains or announcement videos. I'm glad they spent all their money on the ride itself.
  5. Well I guess this squashes any rumors of a new flat ride or new water slide for this season. Which is perfectly fine considering what we are getting.
  6. So I know I'm probably jumping the gun a bit on this one, but how long until we start seeing 3D virtual reality? If such a thing is possible. On a side note, does anyone know if this will be available during HITP, or should I not risk it and come during the summer.
  7. On the 2016 park map on the website the Ninja is a different color and if you look on the attractions list it lists it as the "All New Ninja" coming late spring. Does anyone know about this? Is it just a repainted or something more?
  8. ^If Six Flags still owned Kentucky Kingdom it would be called Hurricane Harbor Kentucky by now.
  9. I really hope that Duffey will continue that tradition that he established with the CEO in the announcement videos. Probably not though.
  10. ^If the event is successful at CGA, I think the most logical next step would be Carowinds. Also, do we know yet if the event will be a separate admission?
  11. As to why Kings Island's attentamnce only went up 1% with Banshee is probably because that was also the year Kentucky Kingdom reopened. It probably would have been a few percentage points higher if KK did not reopen.
  12. According to this video, Six Flags will just be managing the water park and they have a contract for 20 years. I thought they bought it but apparently not.
  13. This is really neat! It seems like just yesterday Six Flags was just emerging from bankruptcy and here they go again buying another park. However given the population of Mexico City and the apparent recent success of Six Flags Mexico, this seems to be a very smart move.
  14. ^This is why I feel that the current arrangement with Premier is good because CNL is in charge of the finances and Burke is in charge of the additions. I like to think that people learn from their mistakes, but still without the CNL safety net it could be another spend fest from Premier.
  15. Also, they would have to essentially build a new park, which is just too much money and too big of an investment to do in the United States anymore on a large scale. The only thing I think we will see in the future is FEC's becoming more like theme parks such as Fun Spot.
  16. ^Gary Story passed on, so I think it is just Burke now. It will indeed be interesting to see how these Premier Parks do as the chain starts to become larger again.
  17. If I didn't know better, which I do, I would think that this is one big publicity stunt. Seriously, this is the most media attention that Funtown Mountain has gotten in a long time.
  18. I have ridden T3 and have to say that it is pretty smooth, the headbanging is gone, and the trains are very comfortable and roomy. When the ride was over I was completely pain free and actually enjoyed it, which is quite an accomplishment for an SLC.
  19. According to some news reports, T3 opens tomorrow.
  20. Well according to Kentucky Kingdom's Facebook page, a Twisted Twins announcement will come "VERY SOON".
  21. ^ Plus if people do not like T3 they can entice them by saying that they are adding something much better the following year.
  22. ^ It is possible that it could depend on when they get T3 open. They probably want it to get its media attention before they announce something completely new and have everyone forget about T3.
  23. I hope they at least turn on the Ferris Wheel, but knowing Magic Mountain they will probably just let it sit there, then they will add it to their rides count without getting it operational. Maybe this counts as themeing for SF?
  24. Can someone please explain the picture or the Ferris Wheel in the full throttle zone on the last page. I feel like there is something obvious I am missing here.
