I have heard the cold pizza complaint from others, mostly this year, and I wonder if it's how they are serving it now.. they have it precut and on plates before you order.. I normally go later in the evening (sometimes just for the pizza) and a lot of those times we get fresh slices right out of the oven because they aren't doing the presliced thing lol.. So yeah it's not always bad and luckily I haven't had the cold pizza yet but with the new way they serve it, I can see how it can become cold Now with that being said, I have had cold fries there! Some that have tasted like they have been out for almost an hour Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

That can be either seen as a good sign or bad.. maybe it's getting ready to open full time or Dollywood can be using it as another method of saying the ride is closed.. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

From what I can tell is if the LR ops are outside LR playing games, drawing on the street, and playing with the guest, there is a chance it will open. If they are on other rides, then no. It's just Dollywood trying to give them hours which is nice and fair.. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

That's another good point. The lifeguards, staff, performers are always the last people out usually.. there have been times on my waterfront that we hear thunder a long way off.. by the time we get all boats out, swimmers into safety, and so on, the storm has been right on top of us.. just last week me and my sail boat instructor was tying off our 25ft sailboat in the pouring rain with Lightening within a mile.. we sent the kids off the dock in a rush but we had to still secure the boat.. we called it when lightening was over 10 miles out So it takes time to close some of this stuff.. coasters, shows, it's all the same.. closing it is not only for the customers safety but for the staff as well Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I manage a lakefront in the area and we do a 10 mile rule or if we hear thunder.. lightening is not something to mess around with.. but being in the same area as Dollywood it was the same here.. sunny out but I couldn't let kids in the water bc lightening was just close enough that I was required to close Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I was at the park yesterday and my biggest concern is that I heard 1 out of 3 people say LR is unsafe.. All the GP heard was that a part was recalled for safety.. They where never told (I know we know here) that it was cylinders for the restraints that where recalled.. Also, with all the up and downtime people are starting to become concerned with the rides safety Dollywood isn't really helping themselves with their generic messages either.. I know, they don't owe it to us to tell us what is really going on. I personally know the ride is safe BUT the GP that doesn't frequent this forum, a lot of them do not know that.. they just know it keeps closing for some reason and that parts are being recalled on it.. Again, this is what I heard from people at the park yesterday on tram rides, people waiting to see if it opens, and people on other rides.. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Actually, "Technical rehearsal" sounds better than "The ride isn't officially open so we don't have any obligation to open it for you whatsoever, but we're being generous enough to open it on days that we can do some tweak & adjust, which we could probably do with water dummies or empty trains, but we are trying to get as many people on the ride as possible, so stop being ungrateful." Except for about a week it was actually"open" then the recall and it went back into tech rehearsal. Pardon me for trying to logic and reason to explain something. I forgot that quite a few contributors to this thread and shown that they are not smart enough to understand that. I understand both logic AND reason, and am quite smart. Just stating that the ride did shift from tech rehearsal to "open" then back to tech rehearsal. I'm sure there was both logic and reason to that decision, though I can see where it would be confusing to some people planning visits to the park. As the moderator of this forum who ctiticizes other for making disparaging remarks to others, aren't you kind of doing the same here by responding to two quotes with an insult to their intelligence? When it went to officially open it still had a lot of downtime so even though they said it was open i still feel it was in technical rehearsal Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I wish they had some kind of dining plan I really enjoy using it at Disney and Six Flags.. the Season dining plan at six flags is great and saved me tons ha-ha But if Dollywood does it, I see it working much like Disney Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I don't believe the downtime is due to overheating.. everytime i have been in the park and it goes down they continue to run it. This would not allow time to cool.. I bet they are still just changing parts Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

A few examples: UT in Knoxville starts the fall semester Aug 17. Vandy starts Aug 24. UGA starts Aug 11. South Carolina starts Aug 18. Sevier County schools (including Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg high schools) start Aug 17. Those are small areas considering the surrounding area.. Knox county starts Aug 8th (probably the largest local school system) Blount County starts early as well. When Knox and Blount start, attendance from local family's really drop during the week.. The extend hours are for the same reason Disney is open late on busy days.. essentially it's to help make sure you have time to do everything even with lines. if Dollywood ends up being busy, even after the 7th they will extend hours.. they do it all the time on busy days but it is a day to day decision Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

They have tram service in the regular lots that is very quick and free. I'd just park in the regular lot and take a tram.. preferred parking might be good if you plan to return to your car several times during the day Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Usually down.. so many other things plus family events going on that crowds aren't as bad on Holidays like the 4th.. you have your vacationers but not as many locals.. It could still be crowded like it normally is during the summer but not as crowded as it would normally be. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
