I still think a Drop Tower will go in Timber Towers place sometime and "drop in" could be hinting towards one BUT I agree with you.. I bet this has to do with a new festival and my money is still on October.. I bet they are announcing a new festival for October, because they know people are going to see the drastic change in hours.. they might also mention why the are going to be open until Midnight a few weekends. Very interesting.. a surprise announcement?? Wonder if it might have to do with the extended hours next October as well? Everyday 10:00 - 9:00 means they have something up their sleeves Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Yup that's what I just thought about in my post.. a couple new flats would be pretty sweet.. country Fair is looking a little aged again while the rest of the park is much much nicer Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Sounds like they might be planning a larger waterpark upgrade after that slide maybe for 2018 or winter 2017? Wonder if they may be considering an indoor splash country to help the resort out during the winter? Or maybe they have a nice flat or something for Dollywood planned I'm 2017 as well? Something not as expensive as the larger attractions they normally announce? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

When I was there several weeks ago back in September, a cell phone flew out of a ladies shirt and hit someone.. it closed for a few minutes then opened back up.. the ops do everything they can to keep lose articles off the ride but people just don't listen when they should.. technically if their phone or whatever hurts someone, they could be in a lot of financial trouble, not Dollywood.. I wonder if that was why someone was holding their head? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

When they built LR they said it was the last coaster they had planned for a while.. This was mentioned in a press release from Dollywood about LR but plans can change. I'd imagine 2018 being a dark ride to compete with Justice League being built for 2017 for six flags This is just my theory Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Maybe they are testing it out over those two weekends and if it does well they will do it more often.. I have the most fun after dark at like 11 when I go to Disney during the summer.. That's just me though lol.. I'm more curious about what they have planned for October.. being open until 9:00 is a great thing and makes me think they have something planned for the evening hours. Unless they just expect a lot of fall break people like I said earlier Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Luckily I don't go for LR, my GF and I just enjoy walking the park and we get a few rides here and there lol but yeah if I was going just for LR I wouldn't risk it personally Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Fall breaks around here cover most of October maybe? I know Knox just got off theirs and that Blount had theirs the first week in October and a few schools have it this week.. Fall break is kind of new for a lot of the school districts in the area.. Or maybe they are just trying to fill their resort and they have noticed more guest when the park is open? I'm sure the park benefits that come with staying in the resort is a huge draw for it.. I mean, honestly, it's fairly expensive for the area so without those perks I'm sure it struggles when the park is closed. I'm sure if we had a warmer winter, they'd be open year round if they could. Or another theory is a new different style festival in October? It would be nice if they had a haunted festival in the evening and kept the Gospel festival during the day but only being open until 9:00 kind of rules that out.. But they might be planning a kid friendly Halloween festival?? Only time will tell! Lol The midnight days sound awesome, I wish they did that more often Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Unfortunately LR, IMO, shouldn't even be considered officially open yet.. At least during the week, I visit a lot, and it's closed more than open during the week.. I have been very lucky and had walk-ons during the week a few days but the majority of my weekday visits it's closed and I visit sometimes twice a week.. I'd say downtime is still way over 50% at least based on my multiple visits a week. (I might just choose unlucky days though lol, usually Wednesday) Weekends on the other hand, it seems to be up 90% or the time but waits are long.. So IDK if they are still having major issues or if maintenance cost are so high they are closing it during the week due to low crowd's (someone mentioned several post pack that they were told this and we all said Nope Not True but who knows) If they changed the early entry ride then it might be scheduled to be closed this weekend though Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

If the app says closed for the day, it's pretty accurate.. I have noticed though, LR seems to be down more during the week so you might get lucky tomorrow being Friday Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

The Dollywood app does have it listed as closed today.. unfortunately, it doesn't mention anything about it being closed all week.. Wild Eagle is also closed now, I assume due to wasp Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
Yup, he didn't have a broom and dustpan but he did have a trash grabber and was picking up trash.. like I said, he was also the person directing guest as they where entering the park on Saturday. It really does go a long way with customer service and I'm sure it does help with the service at the park Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Get Wild Eagle early most fall breaks are ending here and I'd imagine Dollywood will be dead tomorrow... You might even luck up and get a few walk on rides with LR! Id love to make it out sometime this week, not sure if I can though.. but I am having withdrawals! I haven't been to Dollywood in like 2 weeks haha Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
Hopefully they are refurbishing it not sure if that will actually help the locks or not! It needs a new paint job as well, overall though, Superman ran fine this weekend.. not nearly as bad as a lot of people have made it sound.. They just have caught the crew on an off day like I caught the food services crew on an off day Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Oh and to whoever asked the question earlier, they do have a lot of Christmas lights up already.. most bushes wrapped and stuff.. Here are a few photos from yesterday, most are on my Action Camera but here are a few from my phone. Going to head back to the park for a couple hours until it gets busy here when the open at noon.. Few more hours before I head back home to Knoxville! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Well see that's what I thought but when people started complaining about them only running one and that it was half broken down I thought someone had mentioned they only had two now.. Both trains where running fine when I was there, all seats working and everything.. of course, nothing would lock correctly but that's always been an issue. The train on the maintenance bay has no theming so I guess they use it exclusively for parts now. It's like a Skelton train lol Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I saw Dale (park president) again tonight on my way out and couldn't bring myself to complaining.. He was with another higher up picking up trash at the front of the park.. He has always had my respect because he is always out and about in the park and if he is out picking up trash then the park was very overwhelmed tonight.. How many other park presidents pick up trash? I just shook his hand and said thanks for a great night. In their defense park was packed! The old lot was back to go carts almost and the lot beside the bus lot was full. I had fun though, fright fest is always my favorite time at six flags.. I love Halloween and everything about it.. That's why I drive to Atlanta for it usually two different weekends and spend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday both weekends! Shows: Dead Man's Party is my favorite show of all time! Watched it 3 times already this year! The carnival was decent Rides: Ops were fine on rides.. Goliath was almost always going up the lift when the second train returned.. Same for mind bender and other coasters.. Superman was stacking but the ops where moving very quickly.. those old trains just never lock correctly.. the ops ran from seat to seat and you could tell they where trying.. Scorcher also stacked but people never follow instructions on it.. Can't blame the ops for that.. I had a flash pass, lines remained very long most of the evening (60 min + wait on most) but again ride ops remained positive.. Later in the night they were getting ran down a bit but most rides had the same ops at 10:45 that they had at noon when they opened Food Service: This was disappointing, mainly because so much was closed.. with school in session are they really this short on clerks to run food booths? Maybe! The outside of alot of the restaurants could really use a cleaning! Snacks down beside Superman had spiders and webs (real webs not the fright fest ones) all over.. I'm not talking one web that built overnight, I'm talking looks like it hasn't been cleaned all season! Lol.. and honestly there is no excuse for not honoring dining plan if you have been waiting in line.. This is unacceptable and I will probably at least complain about this in the survey that is sent out.. Decorations: They did a great job on the various haunted decorations all over the park but without the scarecrows and other Halloween type things during the day, it looked lacking.. I mean the had huge areas that had amazing decor but in between the areas, no scarecrows, skeletons, or anything.. Years past have been full of this stuff Scareactors: Friday was lacking but tonight they had tons.. and they did a good job causing you to jump! I love the scareactors! This is why frightfest is my favorite time at Six Flags Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

So tonight are the worst operations I have ever seen at a park! It started out great this morning and even Dale Kaetzel was even at the gates greeting people. But tonight food operations are a mess with 90% of the park out of ice (at least six restaurants I went to), and over half the restaurants closed.. just waited in line for my last dining plan snack.. got in line around 8:20 and snacks ended at 8:30.. when we got to the window at 9 they wouldn't honor it.. Also, they where not making pretzels at this stand and that's what we waited in line so long for.. I have Dale's email and I plan on letting him know! If I see him again in the morning, I'll let him know in person how badly the park performed tonight On a happy note, rides seem to be performing fine. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Funny, I thought about saving Mind Bender until after dark. This visit was my latest stay by far - both times prior I had to leave around before dusk - and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my first time at the park in the dark. However, I got bored around 6:00 PM and ended up only riding it then. GASM left me a little disappointed. I took my second lap on it Sunday after somebody here *we all know who* praised it. The drop after the second turnaround (by the waterpark) surprised me with some very sharp ejector - just what I had been looking for. I sympathize for these classic John Allen rides - and it just wasn't right that I could not recall how I felt about the first time. It's a great it's not Screamin' Eagle. It could just be that I have been whoring Eagle in recent years, but tomorrow I am going back to SFSTL to get a final confirmation on the comparison. I didn't notice the tree lit up last night but they might during the day.. I didn't even notice the tree at all but it was fairly dark most of the night.. I'll see today Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I'm here to.. parks picking up now though rides are backing up.. operations aren't to bad tonight but I am about to head out (will be back tomorrow) we just arrived in town early and figured we would catch a few rides tonight I'm a little disappointed in the decorations this year! They don't seem to have nearly as many as years past.. yeah they have the themed scare areas but outside those areas there are no fall or Halloween style decorations like previous years.. Scareactors seem to be the same as last year and I was really hoping for more.. overall decent night! Everything is picking up though and most rides are now around a 30 min wait Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
