  1. Hot fudge funnel cake is the best!! I get several a year from Dollywood
  2. Mystery Mine first as it might breakdown.. And then fire chaser as it normally has the longest line.. But after that you are pretty good to go any order
  3. Six flags offers discounts if you buy tickets online.. I'm sure this encourages people to buy online and helps them with their projections. Dollywood has no such thing which is why I assume I see more people at their ticket Windows buying real tickets.. At six flags most people have printed tickets in hand.. I'm sure even though six flags doesn't ask when you plan on visiting, if they see a surge in online tickets a few days before a pretty weekend, I'm sure that helps them project more for that weekend Just a thought Please don't take this as ME looking for discount tickets.. I am a yearly Gold Pass holder so I'd never need ticket discounts ha-ha
  4. Nice! Glad seeing people have fun
  5. People yesterday where complaining how much rougher it is running.. I didn't find it running rough for my standards but yes it is much rougher than last year, at least my ride was..
  6. Also for those who might care, they moved the Life is Good shirts again! I always buy my life is good and my GFs Kavu stuff at Dollywood.. Love the Gold Pass discount!! Life is good is now at the Wild Eagle shops with Kavu and Teva.. I feel it fits better there anyways as that store is more of an "OUTDOOR Outfitters" themed store!!! I was bummed, no Native Sunglasses this year though Anyways figured I would share as I am sure I am NOT the only one who buys life is good at Dollywood!! That stuff hardly ever runs on Sale anywhere so the gold lass discount rocks! Now Dollywood put Chacos and ENO in there and you would have one awesome store. I know you sold generic hammocks in there last year!! Why not real ENOs?? Lol I spent $100 on Life is Good and Kavu T-Shirts just on myself and then another $100 on Tevas and Kavu bags for my GF Also on another note, the old lady selling Kavu and Life is Good in that shop rocks!!! I'd hire her in my outdoor store any day!! She was selling the DEVIL out of Kavu bags!! First time I have ever seen an associate at Dollywood pushing merchandise.. I have never seen an older lady be so passionate about outdoor gear and brands as her!!
  7. Thunderhead is getting much rougher but not as bad as some woodies I have been on. I still enjoy it.. I know a lot of people don't and won't ride it anymore BC it is rough.. But still a great coaster
  8. The parade wasn't cancelled, it was 20 mins early BC of the threat of rain.. They rushed it.. I caught it by accident getting trapped in behind the emporium by security. Great seats for it though!! And Dolly was in it unless she dropped out early during the course of the parade. She was at the end in her little Dolly car.. But yeah it was like a 30 second parade and that was all..I was right beside the emporium where news crews are so she might have dropped out right after that I bet she might have dropped at the first turn off beside her old tour bus Or they might have ran the parade again at the scheduled time of 4:30.. Dolly was in the parade that started around 4:10 - 4:15ish
  9. Oh yeah, I know it's not just Dollywood.. That's what I am saying, it's hard to predict.. Only people that can do it and be close is Disney but that's only because of how many guests they have staying on-site and purchased tickets way on advance.. Like you guys said though 10,000 is a lot but spring break, great weather, it just made for a busy day haha..Wednesday is normally their slow day
  10. See Dollywoods downside is that they still have 1.) A lot of people who buy tickets at the park 2.) Majority of the people who come stay off site So they can't plan accordingly like Disney can.. We can't blaim Dollywood for this.. They really have no good way for trying to determine how many people will be there. But a pretty day like Wednesday was, I feel they should have planned for more than 7,000 people.. Times are changing and Dollywood has had this issue two times very recently now.. Maybe they need to look at how they make their estimates.. Maybe there is no good way to do it.. Disney does it well BUT most of their customers stay on property making Disney look like geniuses at attendance estimations haha Anyways today I think they had planned for 20,000 because all rides had most trains running and there really was no wait on anything.. Either way today was a GREAT day and everyone was very very friendly!!
  11. So far very good day at the park.. Lines are short.. Food lines however are long at some places but not bad.. I waited 20 minutes for a Japanese Stir Fry bowl but all registers where open and food was ready. Line was just long.. The Dollywood ride time app is working well with accurate ride times.. Staff is very friendly and so far no rain (knock on wood) but it's coming
  12. Maybe it is just me, but I really don't see the need for Dollywood to give out free meal vouchers, or free soda just because there are long lines at a meal place. . . I don't get the whole "The park needs to apologize for being busy" mentality. It's a theme park... People know going to a theme park that they are going to be waiting in line for things. Everything from the rides, to the restaurants. Waiting in lines is part of what goes on at theme parks, and people know that. (or at least they should know that.) I don't think a park needs to give things away as a way to "apologize" for being busy. Just because a park is busy doesn't mean "give me free stuff" should be what people expect. I guess I'm just old school, but when we were at SDC and we waited 45 minutes for food the park employee simply said "I apologize for the long wait, but the park is really busy today and turns out, everyone is hungry!" (They said jokingly, yet sincerely.) Just the fact that they took the time to apologize and tried to lighten the moment was enough for me. I didn't get all angry and start expecting free stuff. ∆∆∆ Bingo, you and I wrote pretty much the same response at the same time See that's the thing.. I didn't expect a meal voucher from Six Flags.. Didn't use the meal voucher. But it was just nice customer service.. And again all I did was tweet or Facebook. I'm more of a fan of someone answering g questions on Facebook than apologizing.. Unfortunately society is changing and not everyone likes picking up the phone.. And what they read on Facebook is the truth (on a side note I don't have any friends on Facebook.. I only have an account to check on official Facebook pages of companies and stuff) I expect lines at every park and Dollywood really does, or has done, a good job managing those lines, at least when I am there.. Six flags on the other hand is a different story!! 9 food window's with one open isn't what a customer should expect.. If there are 9 food window's and still lines, fine you can't help that I'm afraid reading this issues on Facebook, it sounds like the same situation at Dollywood.. It sounds like they aren't preparing for the long long lines and when it comes to food they could prepare better.. They might be prepared but again the look on Facebook is that they aren't Would we rather Dollywood be like Disney and run efficiently or like Six Flags and be ran like a cash cow like Wal*Mart. Get people in and that's all they care about. On a good note, I really haven't had line issues at Dollywood except for the trams.. I have been there when they should have several more trams running and haven't.. Most of the time when I have been there food and rides are running top notch as expected.. I have had some of the older employees be very sour with me in the past but I normally blow that stuff off. And here's the last thing, I haven't been there yet this year so I have no idea if the complaints are true, but the fact is the complaints on Social Media are getting worse, which does in fact hurt Dollywood and their reputation. Even if a lot of people like us blow them off and know they aren't true. I'm going today.. Hopefully everything is running more efficient than people are posting about. I'm looking FWD to today Maybe I should get on Facebook and blame Dollywood for the rain today! Ha-ha no I know I'll have a great time even if it rains
  13. Maybe ask them on Facebook? Haha I used my own advice and looked online and had my question answered the bottle purchased after NOV 7th is the new one. but exactly that would have been a Facebook answer if they had someone watching the facebook for someone like me that is lazy or just doesn't pay attention when I read things
  14. On a side note, what bottle is Dollywood using for refills?? I got one during Christmas that has LR on it and says coming 2016.. The picture online SHOWS THAT BOTTLE as the current bottle (Or did when I renewed my tickets two weeks ago).. They using the same bottle right now? if so that will save some money!! EDIT: I answered my own question by looking at their website.. Any bottle purchased after NOV 7th 2015 can be used and thats the bottle I have.. See, I should use my own advice and check the website lol
  15. and looking through Facebook right now they just have complaints from this week.. From poor customer service in the park to misspelling Colombia's name on signs.. Ya know, to me it isn't a big deal but someone answering questions does show great CS.. I have seen questions as simple as "How much is parking" that I have personally responded to so that the customer can be helped out. I know the customer could go online and find the answer but still.. Anyways I am trying to stay off their facebook now haha.. I plan on going tomorrow and don't want to be like "WOW, am i really going to have to wait for 50 minutes for my giant pizza" I ALWAYS eat that giant pizza lol and have missed it all winter
  16. But the big thing is they need someone to respond to questions on there facebook! It's just another line of customer service for people who can't always call in and Dollywoods email support is very slow anyways
  17. Or, maybe the park just doesn't take Faceboook complaints all that seriously. . . I mean honestly... It's Facebook. If it they were legitimate complaints, then the person complaining could easily call, or email the park to have the issue addressed. You're afraid that long lines are becoming a thing at Dollywood?? If anything you should be GLAD that the park is developing long lines. That means that the park is busy, which is good for business. Long lines (typically) mean more guest in the park, which means more money for the park, which means the park can then use some of the money for newer additions. Yeah but most companies take Facebook complaints very seriously.. Most companies are so serious about them, that Facebook is the only way to get local support that used to be called "Executive Support".. Facebook complaints are public.. For example, I had a MAJOR issue with Comcast last week.. I couldn't get their phone reps to even transfer me to someone who COULD help with my problem.. Facebook had the issue fixed in 2 days!! It was a simple issue.. Comcast didn't believe I was "Hard Disconnected" when I was and wouldn't send anyone out to connect me unless I paid for a Pro install.. I just needed the cable hooked up on the outside.. But their phone reps where so bad, they wouldn't send anyone out.. They didn't believe me and had "no" supervisor.. My complaint on Facebook got me a call from "The office of the president" and she had me up ASAP.. I agree Dollywood should have a social media rep that helps at least moderate these complaints. It really goes a long way!! I know there isn't much Dollywood can do for long lines but there are little things they can do for long lines at a Pizza place.. Meal Voucher? Free Soda?? Something to say "we are sorry".. I had an issue with something at six flags.. Complained on facebook, just venting.. Someone contacted me and gave me a free meal voucher.. That went a long way with me!! Again I was just venting with a post that said "#sixflags Been in line for 40 minutes for a hamburger!!" not even a major complaint
  18. That particular row of seats is designed to accommodate passengers with different body types. It is not as simple as lengthening all seatbelts. Fixed. Weight and body size are two different things. A busty female weighing 140lbs may not fit into a regular seat comfortably thus needing a larger seat whereas a 200lb male might fit fine in a regular seat. No, those particular seats are designed to accommodate heavier people. As in their is more reinforcement in the construction of the row to accommodate more weight. Each seat is built to hold a lot more weight than will ever be in the seat.. The construction of the larger seats is simply that.. To fit lager people.. If a 500 pound person could magically fit into row 2 that seat will hold them just as well as row 4. I'm a climbing instructor and by law our ziplines and what not are required to be able to hold thousands of pounds even though we would never have anyone over 250 - 300 pounds on them. Each seat on wild eagle is the same.. It doesn't need "beefed up" construction to hold the extra weight at all Why wild eagle only put them on one row, I have no idea.. But it has nothing to do with those seats being "stronger"..I'm sure it has to do more with something like keeping the trains lighter or maybe even a cost issue as bigger seats cost more.
  19. They do have new billboards in Knoxville with Lightening Rod on it[emoji14]a new one was put up this week beside my apartment.. Doesn't mention an opening day on it at all, just says visit Dollywood
  20. I'm hoping for low crowd's because of the forecast BUT I am also hoping it is like this past weekend where they called for rain and storms and it was actually fairly pretty most of the weekend.. We will see! I plan on being there unless it is just an all day downpour
  21. It could just be a "Dollywood is Open" media day but I am hoping the Media day is for LR and it opens Thursday.. But looks like Thursday is going to be a rainy, nasty day so they may push the opening back past the Holiday Weekend Never know
  22. Honestly, I don't think the problems are that bad and this will open in around the next 2 weeks? Maybe even this Thursday if were lucky... I just really want to ride it! My estimates, from what I have read on here, is that they are a week and a half to two weeks behind so you very well could be correct. I'm hoping for Thursday to!! Again these are just my opinions though.. I know no one that currently works at the park so I just put everything I have read together to come up with this
  23. I'm stills sticking with my theory of them just being behind and there are no actual issues with the ride. It was said they would start testing early Feb (Valentine's Day) but the track wasn't even complete yet. So I'm sticking with my theory it is just behind.. I'm sure there are small issues but if testing had started on time they would have those worked out as well before the park opened
  24. I am not sure what fence you are speaking of but if it is the one I think you are, it was removed when they made the temporary stage in that area for Great American Summer last year
  25. How old was this OP? HAHA.. I figured no one would still be around Dollywood that worked there when the tornado was built.. Back when that coaster was built, I just imagine Dollywood was "Testing" the grounds with coasters.. It was their first large scale coaster.. But who knows
