That makes sense, but I don't know, it feels weird if they were to move forward without a designated viewing area. I know they have the glorified cow pen up now around the area, I mean assuming they develop the land and add a ride in the manner we're thinking of. I'm not really the kind of guy who goes to parks to see the fireworks, so I'm not really sure how other parks' setups are compared to what SFGAdv has/had. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

There's no way they'd be allowed to build into the lake, like a tunnel for a roller coaster but having something swing over might have fewer restrictions. Either way, I don't foresee that happening. I don't think the grade of the land down into the lake really works for that. Swinging out over it only works in my mind when there's a pier-like structure or a steep drop.

I don't know, it feels strange that they'd be planning to remove BBNP. At one point, this park had many different kiddie/family options (BBNP, Balin's Jungleland, Looney Tunes Seaport, Wiggles World, etc). Of what's left, BBNP seems like the busiest and the most-maintained (Seaport looks so rundown any time I walk through there). If they are in fact thinking about making changes, I'd bet on it being revamped into another family area, like what SFOG did with DC Superfriends. I can't see them removing what arguably is their best kids area and not put something similar in its place. EDIT: Damn, Bill beat me, with stronger, more logical theories, too.

Why are coaster enthusiasts weird?

Reminds me of Robb's story of the creepy, ungrateful guy from one of their past trips: -
The main issue with removing or modifying the former Right Stuff theater is logistical. At the moment, pretty much anything that isn't being used by those two FF mazes is used for prize storage. Any sort of project would need to consider the operational impact. Not to say a solution can't be found, just that it's not as easy as razing an empty building. Oh, and quadruple hush on Houdini. It's unique and very-well maintained (for Six Flags, at least). The only issue I have is the immensely long time (usually usually feels like hours) it takes for people to sit down, realize they need to get up to put their bags on the side, slowly do so, have the ride op slowly meander through to check for more bags, point out one (or more) idiots who didn't listen the first time, wait for them to move their bag, then finally start the ride.

Next time you're at Kennywood, I'd definitely hit up Exterminator. Yea, it's just a spinning wild mouse, but I felt the themeing significantly elevated the ride experience. I remember riding clones of the coaster (w/ no themeing) afterwards and thinking to myself how Exterminator doesn't even feel like the same ride.

Call it fake Chinese all you want, Panda Express is my kryptonite. Let's be honest, all Americanized Chinese is fake Chinese. Saying Panda Express isn't actually Chinese food is like someone getting mad because there isn't any "real Velveeta" in a queso dip. Not to say I don't eat Panda Express or American Chinese food, but if we're gonna call a spade a spade, then let's do so properly. -
Rikki and I stopped by Quassy on our way home from our LC/SFNE vacation back in 2014. It was completely last minute and improvised. We managed to park, get four rides on Wooden Warrior, and leave, all within about thirty minutes. I didn't know anything about the coaster going into it and was totally surprised. It wasn't until I researched it later that I learned of its reputation among the coaster community. Cost us $27 total and was totally worth it. Moral of the story:

Creepy, Haunted Theme Parks

Back when I worked at Great Adventure, I liked working the late shift. Walking around well after closing always had this creepy feeling to it, and this was even back when Old Country was utilized. -

This is what I did last year. Highly recommended. It even helped justify visiting again later on in the season as expenses were lower the second time around.
